I seem to recall that churches in New England and churchgoers were zealous in sending aid and education to slaves freed when the Union captured land in the Carolinas tightening the blockade and the whites left and blacks fled inland plantations to go to the coastal areas.

I'd guess this service, with interest accrued might be valued at 15 billion since it all went to actual slaves and not modern grifters.

Yeah, the addition of fish and oyster sauce to the pantry really opened up some flavors. Easy to overwhelm stuff, but a 1/4 teaspoon or so is magic. And it depends on when you add it, too. Right on the oil when you add some salt and garlic is a completely different flavor than adding it near the end.

I've been experimenting a lot for about the last five years and have a couple of dishes that are as good as anything that could be bought in a restaurant, but the problem is it's so expensive to tinker nowadays. It was one thing to think "This is inedible and I've wasted $7", but it's another thing entirely to experiment and blow $20 with nothing to show for it.

Anyway...

So before I left yesterday I saw Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire on Sunday.

It sucked.

It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, it has its redeeming qualities, but mostly it was a waste of time and money. The story is poorly thought out, the humor was trash (and very Disney-esque in that serious moments are deflated by stupid jokes), the villain was generic (RLM described as The Real Ghostbusters bad-ghost of the week and I agree) and too many callbacks and references to the original. Basically, it was stupid.

But like Ghostbusters: Afterlife it was saved by the strength of its cast. Star McKenna Grace was charming and cute in the first one and is charming and cute in this one. With the added benefit of nice tits. Dan Akroyd and Ernie Hudson were welcome sights in this movie, for sure. Bill Murray showed up and got paid.

Actually, it's a very strange thing in this movie. The cast is either very, very young or very, very old. Well, Paul Rudd aside who will always look 25. But there wasn't any in between. It's just chil'uns and decrepit old fogies. It's...weird.

Definitely not a recommend. 2/5 stars.

When they shoveled all the mental patients out of the hospitals and onto the street, they guaranteed they would be put in prison because they were unable to function in society.
Then they were "excused" as a class from prison because they were mentally ill, and they do this sort of thing.

Our betters saving money for the things they would prefer to spend it on.
