Not-So-Quick Hits

Conservative lawmakers -- what few there are -- are objecting to the budget deal's funding for a brand-new gold-plated quarter-billion-dollar FBI office in Washington DC.

Because they deserve it -- they've been doing such a good job, and we totally want the FBI to continue to be infected with DC's dysfunctional communist culture.

Conservative lawmakers are expressing strong opposition to a bipartisan government funding deal that includes $200 million for the construction of a new Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) headquarters. The funding is part of a larger $1.2 trillion government package aimed at preventing a government shutdown.

Key Details:

The $200 million funding for a new FBI headquarters is part of a $1.2 trillion government funding package.

Conservative lawmakers have accused the FBI of being weaponized against the right, citing issues ranging from abortion rights to pandemic-era efforts.

The relocation of the FBI's headquarters has been a contentious issue, with former President Trump previously attempting to block its relocation to the suburbs.

Diving Deeper:

The funding for the new FBI headquarters has drawn sharp criticism from conservatives, who have been targeting the agency's funding over the past year. They accuse the FBI of being used as a tool against conservative Americans, with issues ranging from abortion rights to pandemic-era efforts that they claim targeted anti-abortion individuals or parents. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) expressed his disapproval on social media, criticizing the inclusion of the FBI funding in the government package.

Conservatives argue that the FBI targeted parents when it coordinated with local school board members who had received violent threats over COVID policies at schools. They also claim that the FBI is biased against individuals who oppose abortion rights, following threats in the wake of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

The relocation of the FBI's headquarters has been a controversial issue from the start. Former President Trump tried to block its relocation to the suburbs, preferring the existing downtown location near his then-hotel.

Trump is a Boomer. He doesn't get it. Sorry, not sorry. He loves the idea of prestige and pomp and circumstances and building up DC as a showcase city. He doesn't understand the rest of us want to disperse these awful bureaucracies to smaller towns in unfashionable states so that the urban cosmopolitan liberals who dominate the bureaucracy won't want these jobs in Podunk County, Georgia.

Kamala Harris is the first Vice President in history to campaign from an abortion clinic.

Boy that Biden-Harris ticket sure does have a lot to offer True Conservatives like David French!

Yesterday, vice president Kamala Harris became the first vice president to visit an abortion clinic. Harris traveled to St. Paul, Minn., to make clear the Biden administration's desire to protect "abortion care" and to "codify, put into law the protections of Roe v. Wade." In her remarks, she noted favorably the abortion regime in Minnesota, which does not restrict the practice at any stage of pregnancy.

Harris's comments were consistent with President Biden's language on abortion during his nakedly partisan State of the Union last week. Engaging in the Obamaesque practice of condemning members of the Supreme Court while they were seated in front of him, Biden called out "its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade," and promised to "restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land again!"

We are now long gone from the days of Bill Clinton's "safe, legal, and rare." The Biden--Harris position is affirmatively pro-abortion, and open to federal action to deprive states of the prerogative to regulate abortion that the Dobbs decision rightly restored to them. It is a sign not just of how little this administration would offer those disaffected Republicans it is now allegedly wooing, but also of how radical the Democratic Party has become on this issue. It won't be the last time we get such a reminder.

David French thinks that Joe Biden is the Conservative Candidate We Can Be Proud Of.

Biden's breaking "all the wrong records" -- he's the president who has sown such chaos that he's had to evacuate more embassies than any other president in history.

President Joe Biden's administration has overseen a record 11 evacuations of U.S. embassies, more than any other presidential administration in U.S. history. The latest evacuation occurred in Haiti, where a Marine Corps special unit was dispatched to protect the evacuation of nonemergency personnel and fellow Marines from the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince.

Key Details:

Since Biden took office in January 2021, his State Department has partially or fully evacuated 11 U.S. embassies via authorized or ordered departure directives.

President Barack Obama presided over the second-most embassy evacuations of any administration with a total of eight over two terms, while Donald Trump presided over three partial evacuations in his four years as president.

Military protection was required to ensure that Americans were escorted safely in the evacuations of America's embassies in Kabul, Afghanistan; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Khartoum, Sudan.

...

With Haiti's prime minister under U.S. protection in Puerto Rico, a gang leader and cannibal nicknamed Barbecue has taken leadership over the country. On March 10, nonessential U.S. Embassy staff were airlifted out by the Marine Corps in a nighttime operation. Hundreds of Americans remain trapped in Haiti as the situation deteriorates further.

Judge Aileen Cannon orders that the jury will be permitted to inspect the so-called "classified documents" Trump is being accused of improperly handling, so they can decide for themselves about the appropriateness of their classification.

Potentially big. Not sure, because we don't know if these documents are really worthy of classification or just mementos as Trump claims.

This might also delay the trial.

Judge Aileen Cannon mandated that the jury in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case be allowed to review evidence, potentially reshaping the trial's direction.

Key Details

Deadline Set: Both sides have until April 2, 2024, to submit jury instructions for Counts 1-32, focusing on the "unauthorized possession" of classified documents.

Jury Empowerment: The order emphasizes the jury's role as fact-finders, specifically regarding the classification of documents under the Presidential Records Act (PRA).

Competing Legal Theories: Parties are required to propose instructions that account for different interpretations of a president's authority under the PRA, adding complexity to the case.

Diving Deeper

Judge Aileen Cannon has issued an order that could significantly impact the legal proceedings against former President Donald Trump concerning the classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate. The order, which centers on the jury's involvement in determining the nature of the documents in question, introduces a new layer of legal scrutiny and public interest.

Judge Cannon's directive requires both the defense and the prosecution, led by Special Counsel Jack Smith, to submit proposed jury instructions by April 2, 2024, for the first 32 counts of the superseding indictment. These instructions must delineate the essential elements of the offenses charged, particularly focusing on the concept of "unauthorized possession" of documents under 18 U.S.C. s. 793(e). The order is clear in its intention to empower the jury as the ultimate judge of facts, not the law, pushing both parties to clarify the factual questions reserved for jury determination.

From Russian Collusion to "Bloodbath"--A Decade of Toxic Hysteria

Ever since late June 2015--following Donald Trump's announcement that he was running for president, and his voicing of controversial agendas (on tariffs, China, illegal immigration, foreign policy, NATO, etc.)--leftwing toxic hysteria has been the norm.

In the last ten years, we've witnessed the Russian collusion hoax, calls from military officers and analysts for extra-legal interventions and coups, the Alfa ping hoax, the drink bleach hoax, the "suckers" D-Day hoax, the celebrities' contest about the best way to decapitate, stab, blow up, shoot, or incinerate Trump, the 2016 leftwing postelection effort to turn state electors into "faithless" apostates to elect Hillary, the nutty Mark Milley call to his Chinese counterpart, the Antifa/BLM riotous months of 2020 and effort to storm the White House grounds, the two first-term impeachments, the laptop "Russian disinformation" hoax, the pee accusation, the "51 intelligence authorities" ruse, the FBI hiring of Twitter censors to suppress unwanted news, the Senate trial of a private citizen, the January 6 "insurrection" where "five police officers were killed" lie, the farcical two Republican members of the Jan 6 committee, the attempt to remove Trump from state ballots, the insane E. Jean Carroll suit, the Letitia James "find me the man, and I'll find you the crime" writ, the monstrous $355 million fine growing daily to $450, the Alvin Bragg bootstrapping of an inert federal suit, the Fani Willis/Nathan Wade circus, the Jack Smith antithesis to Robert Hur's twin investigation, the effort to bankrupt the Republican nominee, and of course the constant calls to pack the court (when the Left lost the majority), to end the filibuster (when Democrats control the Senate), to add two new states and four new senators (provided they are DC and Puerto Rico) and to end the Electoral College (once the Left lost the surety of the reliable blue wall).

What is the effect of all this decade-long civil strife on the 2024 voter?

There are two knowns and two unknowns from this unprecedented effort to destroy rather than defeat at the polls Donald J. Trump.

First, we now know that the more they have tried to destroy Trump through media lies and distortions, lawfare, and extra-legal means, the greater his resiliency and popularity.

Two, we also realize that the greater the anti-Trump hysteria, venom, and furor on the Left, the more leftists melt down and project their own paranoias onto Trump.

They think something like: "If we were Trump, and we were smeared with the stuff we are dishing out, we know what we do to our tormentors when we got power. So naturally Trump will do to us what we would to us in his place."

Their projection then turns into our now daily unhinged screams that Trump will "take revenge" and "demand retribution", ensure a "bloodbath", and "end democracy"--and "therefore we have to double down to employ even more extra-legal means to destroy him".

Of the unknowns, we are somewhat unsure about the cumulative effect of this historic effort to warp the electoral system to destroy a candidate, and in at least two regards.

One, as the Left ramps up its hatred and frenzy over the next seven months before the election (and they surely will), what will be effect on Independents, swing voters, and the undecided? Will they grow incensed at the damage the Left is doing to the country and react by supporting Trump all the more?

Or, alternatively, will they finally curl up, fetal-like, with hands over ears, and simply whimper and wish for someone to make all this conundrum go away--and along with it the disrupter Trump, who, however much the victim, still somehow is responsible for the insane reaction he elicits from the left?

As far as the second unknown in the upcoming months, could or would Trump as the Happy Warrior better finesse the vitriol to his own advantage by joking about his tormentors' insanity, using Reaganesque humor to ridicule his critics, or simply shrug, stick to business, ignore the madness, and press on? Can he not unite the country by rising above the tit-for-tat taunts and put-downs?

That is, should he not avoid his gratuitous slights (often against fellow Republicans like DeSantis and Haley), curb silly stuff like "birdbrain" and the usual social media ridicule?

Or does it even matter at this late date--given the Left will distort anything Trump says anyway--as we just witnessed with the "bloodbath" psychodrama, and the laughable spin to suggest Trump was calling for insurrection rather than the damage Biden will do to the automotive industry?

Are we reaching a point, then, where it does not matter how carefully Trump speaks and how ecumenical he might sound, given whatever he says or does will still be distorted given the existential hatred for who he is, what he represents, and what his agendas might portend?

Add up what we know and the things we know we don't know, and it is going to be a wild, dangerous next seven months in which we are going to witness things from the Left never seen before in this country.

Speaking of "vengeance" -- Byron York points out that Joe Biden made a joke about his political ally and catspaw "Tish" James' lawless drive to bankrupt Joe Biden's political opponent.

It happened in Washington at the Gridiron Dinner, a fancy white-tie gathering of major media figures and the top politicians they cover. Biden delivered a speech that was part comedy routine and part inspirational talk to his media base.

And this is a joke Biden told, according to news accounts: "Our big plan to cancel student debt doesn't apply to everyone. Just yesterday, a defeated-looking man came up to me and said, 'I'm being crushed by debt. I'm completely wiped out.' And I said, 'Sorry, Donald, I can't help you.'"

Ha ha ha. The media audience, of course, laughed. With one joke, Biden acknowledged the work his party's lawfare warriors have done in the Trump matter. And how could Biden not be grateful? He's trailing Trump in the polls, is facing an electorate that largely believes he is too old for a second term, and is underwater in approval ratings for his handling of most issues.

No doubt Biden's joke about bankrupting Trump reflects his satisfaction that the lawfare effort is starting to work. But Biden wants more. In February, Politico reported that Biden has "grumbled to aides and advisers that had [Attorney General Merrick] Garland moved sooner in his investigation into former President Donald Trump's election interference, a trial may already be underway or even have concluded."

In April 2022, the New York Times reported that Biden "confided to his inner circle" his belief that Trump "should be prosecuted." The paper added that while Biden "has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr. Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr. Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor."

Garland knows the president wants him to get Trump sooner rather than later. Garland's pick for special counsel, Jack Smith, who first wanted to put Trump on trial in January, is now racing to start a trial by summer. Anything to get the job done by Election Day. Maybe Smith will succeed, and maybe he won't. But the lawfare campaign is a heavy burden on Trump every day.

Trump posted this video of Biden's galloping dementia.

There is no stuttering here -- just a demented old man who "loses time" in the middle of sentences and has to be physically guided off stages.

Washington Post propagandist Matt Vizer sprang into action, claiming that Biden's obvious dementia is just the reemergence of his long-lost "childhood stutter" -- which was first discovered around 2020, when Biden needed a covering explanation for why he could not longer speak in English.

Basketcase shithole cities are allowing criminal lunatics to terrify entire neighborhoods.

Citizens and shopkeepers are arming themselves with bats and batons to drive off a violent vagrant the courts just refuse to put in jail.

He's a Greenpoint goon who just won't go away.

A 33-year-old vagrant with a lengthy rap sheet has been the bane of a Brooklyn neighborhood for nearly a decade, with complaints of shoplifting, slugging women and threatening local merchants at will -- and yet he remains free to continue to wreak havoc.

Registered sex offender Christopher Boissard has been such a long-running menace in Greenpoint that one shop owner keeps a metal rod handy so he can chase him away when he shows up at the door.

"The rod is especially for this guy," neighborhood bodega owner Babu Davnath said. "He comes in the store screaming and tries to hit people. Everybody's scared of this guy.

"Many times he's punched women in the face inside the store and outside on the sidewalk," Davnath said. "He is very dangerous. He's stolen from my store many times -- beer, food, whatever he wants. This has been happening for the last eight years, maybe more."

The NYPD says Boissard has been arrested by cops a dozen times since 2022 alone and sent to court for arraignment every time -- only to be released.

In all, he has been busted 39 times since 2011 on charges that have ranged from assault to robbery to criminal mischief, records show -- and has two dozen incidents where he was listed as an emotionally disturbed person.

According to court records, Boissard, who was registered as a level 3 sex offender after he was convicted of molesting a 19-year-old woman in 2021, is "deaf and mute" and does not know sign language, making it difficult to communicate.

As a result, he's fallen through the cracks of the system.

I got news for you -- New York City's "system" is nothing but cracks.

Elon Musk reports that the FBI set up a portal to talk to social media companies, and they set that portal to automatically delete all messages after two weeks.

Which just so happens to defeat any attempts to FOIA these communications.

And just so happens to violate the law regarding the preservation of government records.

X owner Elon Musk revealed during a recent interview that the FBI had a portal that "auto-deleted all comms with Twitter after 2 weeks," remarking that it was likely a violation of the Freedom of Information Act.

Musk made the comments on the Texas Lindsay podcast while discussing the censorship of Americans on social media by the US government. "This is coming from multiple parts of the government. From the State Department, the FBI, Homeland Security, from really many, many parts of the government. It wasn't just one arm of the government."

Musk continued, "There was this FBI portal that auto-deleted all communications after two weeks, so we actually don't know what was said there."

He added that the move struck him "as a FOIA violation, a Freedom of Information Act violation...because you shouldn't be able to delete orderly things after two weeks."

Musk also revealed that "there's a little-known agency in the state department called the Global Engagement Center, which most people have never heard of, but they might have been the single worst offender because they demanded the suspension of over 250,000 accounts which I think all Twitter largely complied with."

"The suspension demands were so broad that they accidentally demanded a suspension of a journalist on CNN and an elected Canadian politician. It was just an incredibly broad swath."

I would add that it is an open secret -- all the leftwing propaganda media pushing Ballsy's lies know this -- that while Ballsy's friend is too terrified to say much about this matter, knowing the propaganda media would destroy her, privately, off-the-record, she tells people that Ballsy is lying.

And this friend was allegedly at the "Boof Party" that Ballsy describes in such shapeshifting vagueness.

Again, the leftwing media knows this. They know Ballsy is lying. But they know Ballsy's supposed witness is too frightened of the media's eagerness to destroy any inconvenient witnesses to speak up, so they continue pushing the lie.

But they know.

They KNOW.

6 I'm seeing a lot of patterns of people leaving the US as of late.
But most have the wealth (and power) to move wherever they want with private jets on the go and security.

On The Diary of a CEO episode CIA Spy: "Leave The USA Before 2030!" Why You Shouldn't Trust Your Gut! - Andrew Bustamante He's taking his family, children and going.

On George Gammons Rebel Capitalist, I was able to watch the full episode of Just Talked To 3 Billionaires About Investing And Freedom It was a discussion of at least 50 million/billionaires meeting up to discuss how to push back on the globalist marxists. Within that discussion, many have drawn a line in the sand and acted on it (as Gammon has - left the country when children poison jab mandates were issued). Some went to odd countries. He mentions where the gov is inefficient so it is not as easy to come after to you. But, again, they have the means to just jet to safety elsewhere.

Oh, there's added text.

Nevermind then.

Yes, one of Trump's MAJOR failings was trusting these institutions. Even when everyone else could see they were specifically and intentionally working to undermine him at best.

My main reason for supporting Trump at this point is to see how far they push back. See to what lengths they will go to get him. But as I've said before, it's entirely possible the Deep State can use his last term as evidence they can control him in ways he'll never understand, and never see coming.

Wish I could say he learned from last time, but this is Trump, I think he was done "learning" things about 4 decades ago.

39 >>Trump is a Boomer.

The headquarters is going to be in Greenbelt, MD not Podunk County, GA. It's literally 15 minutes outside of DC in a deep blue area.

The R's have NO interest in actually wielding power in Congress. They LIKE being the scrappy "underdog" because they get to have all the perks with none of the responsibility.

They can fundraise off the Dems' constant failure forever under that scenario.

Their worst nightmare is to have a decisive (even super) majority where they are expected to DO things on behalf of their constituents.

Properly delayed timing so that the seat can be refilled before the Jeffries House, via Article 2 §1 Clause 2-3 of the US Constitution to install Biden/Newsom/Whoever as Emperor for Life.

Its that, or Martial Law implemented just before the elections due to the Migrant Revolution that prevents the November elections.

184 Willowed,
Guys, you should actually look this shit up because Conservative Media TM is too frigging lazy to do a basic net search. Dates are from Ballotpedia,

The Dems have 213 right now and the GOP will have 217 after Gallagher resigns. McCarthy's seat goes to a special election in May I think and will be a retention. Bill Johnson (R) seat will be filled in a special election in June (Ohio) likely GOP retention, and Brian Higgins (Dem) seat will be filled in an April 30th special election--dunno about party affiliation there as he is upstate Dem. The special election for Ken Buck's seat, likely to remain GOP is scheduled for June.

From what I gather, Gallagher's Wisconsin seat, due to when he arranged as a FU to his constitutents will not be filled until the fall general election. If he had resigned prior to April, then it would have been filled before then by special election.

Things are bad enough without endless dweebling about Speaker Hakeem. The Speaker is elected not by an absolute majority of seats but only of those seats that are occupied.

Last time the Speakership changed after an election was in 1931 but not during session itself.

I wonder if...this is an unusual order, and reflects perhaps, the Judge's own leery thinking of what the government is calling classified. One way to solve that problem is to give the jury permission to review it for themselves, placing the onus on them.

If it is classified, it must not be highly so. Otherwise, there is no way she'd let the jury see it. So, it must be borderline at best. It might even mean Trump is right in viewing the materiel as no big deal.

206 The Dems have 213 right now and the GOP will have 217 after Gallagher resigns.

You must have 26 states or more with majority R delegations to take away the Dem gambit...more if you don't trust the states with only 1 Rep to start with...

Ars Technica reports that Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced founder of the now-collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been accused of repeatedly lying in his sentencing memo to avoid what he considers a “grotesque” 110-year maximum prison term. In a detailed letter to Judge Lewis Kaplan, FTX Trading CEO John Ray alleges that Bankman-Fried made several false claims to paint himself in a better light and reduce his sentence to just five to six years, despite prosecutors suggesting a sentence between 40 and 50 years.

274 Hate to burst your bubble, but Trump is not being charged with possession of "classified documents." He is being charged with possession of "Defense Information" which, under the applicable statute, can mean just about whatever the government wants it to mean, and the fact that the documents might never been classified, or were actually declassified means NOTHING.

The law being used is so very broad that if it ever got to SCOTUS, it might well be deemed unconstitutional. If the prosecutor can convince the jury that the information contained in those documents is Defense Information, and the jury doesn't go for nullification, Trump will be convicted of a federal felony.

Go read it for yourself if you don't believe: 18 USC, sections 793 and 794.

That's what I'm thinking.
It seems to me she has had a review of the so-called classified docs.
And Jack has fought mightily to keep anyone at all from seeing the docs, especially Trump's attorneys.

Is this her way of saying, "AYFKM, this is classified?"

Recall the obviously empty folders they splayed across the floor to show "classified?"
Confluence is the fact that the FBI planted the story in their pet newspaper that the classified docs were nuclear secrets, to rile up their Boomer dups that Trump was gonna Julius Ethelburg for the Russians.

Forcing Jack to argue to the jury that a doodle by Trump on a napkin made during a national security brief lunch is classified because the napkin has ears, should be fun.

In part, "Russian news reports said that the assailants threw explosives, triggering the massive blaze. Video posted on social media showed huge plumes of black smoke rising over the building, which can accommodate more than 6,000 people.

The attack took place as crowds gathered for performance by Picnic, a famous Russian rock band. Russian news reports said that visitors were being evacuated, but some said that an unspecified number of people could have been trapped by the blaze.

The prosecutor’s office said several men in combat fatigues entered the concert hall and fired at visitors."

387 AP, Russia launches sweeping attack on Ukraine’s power sector, a sign of possible escalation

In part, KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia unleashed one of its most devastating attacks against Ukraine’s electric sector on Friday, an aerial assault it said was retaliation for recent strikes inside Russia and which could signal an escalation of the war just days after President Vladimir Putin cemented his grip on power in a preordained election.

Many Ukrainians were plunged into darkness across several cities, at least five people were killed, and damage to the country’s largest hydroelectric plant briefly cut off power to a nuclear plant that has been a safety risk throughout the war.

Russia fired off more than 60 exploding drones and 90 missiles in what Ukrainian officials described as the most brutal attack against its energy infrastructure since the full-scale war began in early 2022.
