Mrs. Wolfus No. 2 and I used to jaunt out there on the occasional weekend. They held a fine SF fan convention called CoastCon every year March there, too.

Come to think of it, well before that, Mrs. W. No. 1 and I used to attend CoastCon. Part of how I made No. 2's acquaintance.

When I was first there after Katrina, the town of Waveland was pretty much gone; so were a lot of the businesses like IHOP. The roads were still vastly better than in Lousy-ana, so it was always a fun drive.

It should sell quickly again I hope. We had multiples, but this woman was going all cash. We thought winner winner chicken dinner.

When one of the things that was mentioned in inspection was we had a lot of Romex wiring in the house I thought it strange. Then she canceled, so I think she was looking for a way out and still get her earnest money back.

The hard part with an older home is people want all brand new and gleaming when they walk in. I'm sorry, the house was built in 1938. Has had 2 additions put on and a few renovations.
It's not a plug and play house.

It's not just a Southern thing. I grew up around a lot of farms. They are slowly getting gobbled up by McMansions. This is in Western PA. It's city people moving in and bringing the city with them instead of leaving it behind.

I had another nephew who did that and until he sold it, nothing but problems. The driveway was paved with no underlaying prep. Just asphalt on top of dirt. Same with a crack that developed between the garage and main house. and all the concrete sidewalks were like the driveway, just concrete over dirt. Water ran into the basement because the slope was graded toward the house instead of away..Now he knows what to look for, and find a builder who has been in business more that two months and then disappears.
