Biden's building Hamas a nice Freedom Dock by which he can deliver taxpayer-paid goods so that they can be distributed among Hamas terrorist fighters in their spiderholes.

Planning for the operation, initially based on the island of Cyprus, does not envision deployment of U.S. military personnel in Gaza.

Relax, guys, Democrat-dominated military planners "do not envision" US soldiers being deployed as "peacekeepers" and palace guards and human shields for Hamas, so what are you worried about? What more reassurance do you need than "does not envision"?

Biden's announcement came as he seeks to cool anger among many in his Democratic Party over his support for Israel in its offensive in Gaza since Oct. 7, given the steep toll on civilians in the Palestinian enclave.

The post has good details about how the Army's navy (yes it has its own small navy) goes about erecting a port.

This will take about 1,000 personnel to accomplish. I don't know a single maritime professional who thinks this is a good idea given the location and conditions ashore, but orders are orders....
As for my general thought on doing this? I'll avoid the politics as much as I can, but I have concerns.

33 I think there is another side to this story. I rad that the Israelis are not opposed to this. The goods will be coming from Cyprus. Netanyahu is making a deal,with Cyprus in case the port in Haifa is compromised. Good destined for Israel can be sent there. This also keeps Turkey from shipping as they are on Hamas's side and thee very well could be armaments hidden.
IDF almost done in Gaza so letting the international community providing aide to the poor suffering Gazans takes the heat off them and allows them to focus on Hezbollah which is still firing rockets into Israel. Israel has pretty much shut down the production facilities in Gaze so rockets cannot be built.

That's always been the most confusing part to me. I'm 29 years old and have been in Southern Baptist churches my entire life. Support for Israel and prayers for Isreal have always been an almost weekly thing, and I'd wager at both Sunday services and Wednesday nights, too, plus any small group meetings.

Recent polls do show that decreasing. And I think biden is doing great damage to his "Jewish" support but time will tell

If MLB wants to build fields, supply uniforms, volunteer coaches, etc., fine. Owners can chip in if they want. Teams can try to raise ticket prices and bloviate.

But I can't see any way professional leagues in any men's sport are going to do anything but hire and play the best players. I think most owners, managers, and players could care less who you are as long as you're better than the other alternative.

I think pro sports are about the closest thing to true meritocracy as you're going to find.
