What the heck's quoit? Well, one definition is a ring of rope that you throw around a peg in a throwing game.

Here's the definition that applies here: "the flat covering stone of a dolmen."

With a "dolmen" being: "a megalithic tomb with a large flat stone laid on upright ones, found chiefly in Britain and France." So the whole monument in the above picture is a dolmen.

After going to all the trouble of carving them, if the Moa broke while moving them, they just left them there and started over.

Strange people they were. We basically killed them all you know, us Europeans. Smallpox as usual. Hell the Chileans kidnapped most of the survivors as slaves, a couple of thousand anyway.

It was quite the stink at the time. I think something like 5 made it back to the island alive after Chile bowed to international pressure and freed them.

Take a look to the West after sundown -- Jupiter, and a thin waxing crescent Moon, and Mercury all in a row along the ecliptic.

Can't see Mercury here, too low behind the trees, but those of you with a nice flat horizon to the west may be able to see it.

This is also a "wet" crescent Moon (angle of crescent is such that the "bowl" is turned upward).

I am gobsmacked at the improvement with my mother. Compared to say last Thursday, when they transferred her to this acute rehab facility, you wouldn't believe the difference.

She's talking well, not. She can find the right word every so often, but she's carrying on proper conversation. They are doing *intensive* therapy on her, and damn, if her nearly 94 yr old brain is actively and amazingly rerouting around the damage.

Her right hand, which was pretty bad is improving as well. She can point now. All this improvement has been since Thursday.

Many of you probably know Mike Benz by now. Former State Dept. guy who has spent the last couple years on Twitter and other places detailing how the government has been infiltrating social media and other institutions to censor conservatives and push leftist policies.

The thing that distinguishes Dolmens, and why they are really tombs is that even though they don't look like it now, is that they were originally under a huge mound of earth. The stones were there to make the walls and ceiling of the burial chamber which as at bottom center of the mound. After 5 or 6 thousand years, all the dirt has washed away and only the stones are left.

The 3.6L Pentastar has been in the Wrangler since 2006, so you had the 4.0L Straight 6 model which was in Wranglers from something like 96 till the JK.

It was a bullet proof very rebuidlable engine.

Not much horsepower but solid.
