First-World Problems...

I found this damned thing rooting through my garbage this morning. And then it started squawking about shelves and intermittent fasting and hobo jerky.

What the hell!

Do we have to move?

This is the 1st year I'm skipping that...I just really didn't want corned beef. I also didn't really want ham, but my FWP budget told me that it was corned beef or ham...so I will be having spiral sliced ham this week.

I did my shopping today with the spouse - he didn't add too much to my total...

And of course that screws up my golf swing. And because me golf swing is messed up, my scores suck and the old geezers laugh at me. So I come home from golf with a sore thumb and a shitty game and then I yell at the dog. So now the dog hates me, Mrs D is annoyed and I'm out of beer.

44 Garden hose related: I absolutely hate the garden hose reel carts they make these days. I used to have a good cart, made of steel, with large rear wheels. Don't know what became of it. The ones I have now are plastic and have ridiculously small rear wheels. The damned carts are so light that the weight of the rolled up hose forces you to pull by the handle while simultaneously exerting downward pressure, in order to prevent the cart from springing into an upright position and causing a sudden stop in forward motion. I wind up looking like Quasimodo, incongruously dragging a hose cart across the yard.

Less often since we got a dog, even though she sleeps inside, but they still come.

Better than our old house though. There they got into the attic...and then had babies.

Transnistria is adjacent to Odessa, the port city that is the key to the Russians having total control in the Black Sea. NATO lusts after Odessa, and is looking for any excuse to grab it.
The military base is defended by a small garrison of Russians, its most significant feature is it has a huge stockpile of Soviet-era weapons, which Ukraine is in desperate need of. Expect more shenanigans in the area over the next few weeks.

I think it showed how little of importance a cell phone was to my life. A think duck tape conveys a perfectly fine ambiance. Especially if actual ducks were used.

101 There was once a young man who was minding his own business when he was kidnapped, taken to a foreign land, and made a slave.
His new circumstances made him consider the denizens of his new land and thought, "Wow, these people really need Jesus."

Apparently, he was not exactly a big fan of snakes, either.

You can get close to the matching color duct tape these days.

____________

The siding is well sun-bleached. Almost white, but still a bit off grey. I have some whiteish duct tape that almost matches. From 50 feet you can't really tell unless the sun hits it just right.

Since it might be months before the contractor can get to it, I may have to resort to some Flex-Seal. Some of the holes are the size of ping-pong balls, in other spots there are 4 - 6 inch long cracks.

Hundreds of homes in the area were damaged in severe storms about 10 days ago.

I'm getting a new roof at some point too.

Thanks, nice picture. I think if I were a young commercial artist I would be worried about my future career prospects.

I have a granddaughter who's graduating high school this year and wants to study "journalism" in college. I'm not happy about that choice, but I'm not in charge, and everyone else thinks it's a great idea. That seems like another job with less than brilliant long term prospects.

Talking about First-World problems. This morning I tried to log into my on-line banking in the usual way. Got presented with a demand for 2-factor authentication. Finally got in by using an answer to a security question. Did my banking, and then tried to review my "messages" to see if there had been an alert about attempted fraud. Was deleting old messages, and got locked into a page. Ended up having to log into online banking again, more 2-factor bullshit. Started composing a long email complaining (civilly) about the 2-factor BS. Got fucking timed out of the banking site! Had to log back in, more 2-factor BS. This time, they got a short nastygram , for them to get in touch with me, or lose my business.
