The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition
Gazans interpret U.S. humanitarian aid without a quid pro quo as unqualified American support for Hamas and Gaza and a rejection of Israel. Gazans note that the United States helps them more than the Arab states. Therefore, Gazans interpret U.S. aid as an implicit justification for their actions on October 7, 2023. Gaza views American air drops, seaport plans, and aid convoys as concrete illustrations of American solidarity with Palestinian “liberation,” which aims to eradicate Israel. Unconditional aid strengthens the Gazans’ sense of self-righteousness and understanding that October 7 was a milestone in achieving victory in their dedication to never-ending jihad against the Jewish state.
We telegraph our weakness with every unilateral action. Israel telegraphed its weakness with its own many unilateral concessions. Israel has seen the folly of its ways and has begun a paradigm shift inside its halls of power. America keeps plodding along, ignoring the obvious lessons about how to deal with the Arab world in general, and Hamas specifically. "Send them mountains of humanitarian aid...they'll love us!" No...they will hate us for being weak and not demanding concessions before the aid is given, and they will harden their stance towards any American-led initiatives. Hamas has stolen billions from the West and created their own horrible little world where they wield sole power. Giving them more aid simply reinforces the status quo, and emboldens them that their dystopian nightmare of a world-view is the correct one! Israel seems to be threading the needle by controlling the aid and keeping it from Hamas, all the while planning their ultimate destruction. Whether they can withstand the pressure from America and the West to let Hamas off the hook and live to fight another day remains to be seen, but the tone in Israel has changed. The Biden/Obama junta is actively undermining the Israeli efforts by sending exactly the wrong message. President Trump understood the respect for power in the Arab world, and was far more successful than any other American administration. The Abraham Accords was a perfect template for Western influence in the Middle East, and the undermining of Trump's efforts is one reason why Hamas felt emboldened to carry out its Pogrom. If one is pro-Israel, there is no other vote in November...a second Trump presidency will shift the Middle East back toward a rational examination of Israel, America, and the possibility of dragging itself into the modern world. That means confronting Iran once and for all. Regime change is the only answer. And that would calm the region far more than any ridiculous "Two-State Solution" ever could!

He is accused of taking photos of the boarding passes of unsuspecting passengers and using his phone to board the flight to Austin, Texas, according to a criminal complaint filed in Utah.
Fleurizard allegedly spent a 'significant amount of time' in the bathroom and only came out once boarding was complete and the aircraft doors were secured.
But a flight attendant noticed there were no empty seats and found he did not have a valid ticket and the aircraft was forced to return to the gate where he was arrested.

Saw stats a while back about the effect of the UN Food program feeding Yemenis. Guess what the results were? Many times more hungry Yemeni mouths to feed. The Population went from (approximate, from memory) something like 5 million in the 70's to 30 million today. Even if my numbers are off a bit, the point remains: giving them food didn't lift them out of poverty, inspire them to build a community/culture that could sustain itself, it made them appear to think: Cool, we can have more babies because someone else will feed them.
Oh, and they still haaaate the West.

They want to see Iran rise to a position of power such that it is a check on foreign interference. This is their all consuming goal. That is what nukes are about but they also want soft and hard force projection that is non-nuclear.
Hamas IS their hard force projection. They have tied a lot of resources and time into building them as a force that can destroy Israel. Their defeat would be a major set back to the entire plan. That is why it cannot be allowed to fail.
I am not saying this makes logical sense, it is just my read on what I am observing. It is weird, but it feels like we are watching someone's pie in the sky doctoral thesis played out on the world stage. Something like 'How Iran could rise as a world power and achieve dominance in the Middle East.'
However, they are constantly having to make moves to rig the game to get the results they want. However, the best movements/projects work organically using your 'team's' strengths in the best way.

The thing is, they keep having to hamstring and harangue Israel to keep them from responding to the Iranian moves organically. So it is like playing a game of chess. A fight to the death between Bobby Fisher vs Brie Larson. You are the game master standing beside the board. You want Brie to win, because it would be a great story. So you constantly have to be telling Bobby he cannot use his queen. You keep having to restore Brie's pieces when they are captured.

I have been very supportive of the IDF's plans, but I realize they made one grave strategic error in this war. They began operations at the top of the Gaza strip and moved down, but they should have started at both ends simultaneously and squeezed them into the middle. If they had taken the Philadelphia corridor in the first 6 weeks (they had the ability to do so) then all the smuggling and aid issues would have been over, because Israel would have controlled all borders, unlike now.
I suspect that this happened because they never had a good plan for what to do with the 1.5 million noncombatants. They sent them all to Rafah, which allowed them to reduce Gaza City, but now there's no plan for them to go anywhere else and I believe that is what has frozen military operations.

I am not saying this makes logical sense, it is just my read on what I am observing. It is weird, but it feels like we are watching someone's pie in the sky doctoral thesis played out on the world stage. Something like 'How Iran could rise as a world power and achieve dominance in the Middle East.'

I suspect that this happened because they never had a good plan for what to do with the 1.5 million noncombatants. They sent them all to Rafah, which allowed them to reduce Gaza City, but now there's no plan for them to go anywhere else and I believe that is what has frozen military operations.
I asked this from the beginning. Israel will not simply eliminate them, nor should they. It's not in their national character, or ours. And nobody else in the Middle East will take them. So what, exactly, do they do with 1.5 million people ?
My solution ... a DMZ. Move the new border down as far as they wish, based upon how big a DMZ they think they can control. After all, they won. And do NOT, under any circumstances, build a single damn kibbutz inside that DMZ. That's the point. Demilitarize an area - which means removing every Gazan because every Gazan is a weapon - such that no Gazan can ever walk or truck or glider across it ever again.

I think my comment about the junta not wanting to deal with their own outrage mobs is really the bottom line here. Those mobs were able to run amok at the White House a couple months ago. That ain't cool. It was downplayed and they didn't riot again in that area. But they were allowed to run amok elsewhere.
So, now you've got theater going on over in Gaza to keep the mobs (and the voting Muslims) placated, at least for now. This is how the left almost always treats its followers. They're just more ruthless about it than the GOP.

The lefty Propaganda Press is rife this morning with giddy speculation PDJT will declare bankruptcy, in an effort to avoid asset seizures by the state of NY, especially of Mar-a-Lago. The President s dealing with an almost insurmountable set of hamstringing requirements, the largest being the judicial Bill Of Attainder charge of nearly $500 million. Complicating this is that NY state firms are not allowed to help him, again by judicial fiat, and that his real estate (the collateral for any bond) is all encumbered by existing mortgages, and arranging to pledge those assets will require bank permission (which would violate the judge's prohibition against helping Trump).
It's really audacious what they've done here.
Unless a very wealthy, highly liquid, person steps forward to loan money, or a foreign bank/insurer is willing to take a huge risk (and PR hit with the fascist left), it is awfully hard to understand what steps Trump can take to avoid the theft of his wealth.

I always find it helpful to remember most of Islam still operates as an honor culture. The Arabs in Gaza and the WB say they're pissed about the land, but it's the dishonor, the insult that they were defeated that motivates them.
That's why their attacks aren't about reclaiming territory, or bringing attention to their cause. They are trying to humiliate Israel primarily. Sprinkle in the UN, which is steroids for despots, giving cash and legitimacy to jumped up street gangs, and the cesspool produces a series of horrors.
Let the Israelis finish the job as best they can, then offer whoever is left a chance to join the 21st century. But you'd be a fool to trust them until that honor culture is gone. If you see honor killings or lynching blasphemers, you got problems.

My solution ... a DMZ. Move the new border down as far as they wish, based upon how big a DMZ they think they can control. After all, they won. And do NOT, under any circumstances, build a single damn kibbutz inside that DMZ. That's the point. Demilitarize an area - which means removing every Gazan because every Gazan is a weapon - such that no Gazan can ever walk or truck or glider across it ever again.

A DMZ is a temporary measure to keep peace until a more permanent solution can be reached. North and South Korea is untenable, as they are...eventually, something will snap, and the situation will finally settle. A DMZ in the Middle East would be similar, but a dozen times worse. At least in the Korean scenario, the peaceful side is much stronger and more prosperous. In the Middle East, Israel is surrounded by much larger nations that want it (and its people) wiped off the map. Only through true grit, and infighting within the Arab nations, has Israel managed to survive.
Eradicating "Palestinian" lands, and enlarging Israel, is critical to Middle East stability. Sure, there will be some bitching...just like today. But once it's conquered and done with, it will gradually fade over time.

No, it will not. Israel has occupied Gaza in the past. Israel is unwilling to simply eliminate the Gazans, the Gazans are unwilling to simply live in peace, and every other state around there is simply unwilling to accept the Gazans.
This situation will never "finally settle" in favor of Israel. The best the Israelis can hope for is a DMZ, of their own choosing and control. Because they won't purge the Gazans, and there is nowhere else to forcibly remove them. Nobody wants them.

I don't really give to charity anymore. They virtually all do the DEI shit and are Party-aligned.
My favorite charities used to be "meals on wheels" programs. Providing food and a bit of human interaction for elderly shut-ins something I think is a genuine good deed. But even the "meals on wheels" programs have DEI now.

My favorite charities used to be "meals on wheels" programs. Providing food and a bit of human interaction for elderly shut-ins something I think is a genuine good deed. But even the "meals on wheels" programs have DEI now.

Besides the list of trap types in the name, I used "blond" instead of "blonde". Saw a video on how that's a leftover from Norse (I think) influence on the language, where the gender of the noun impacts the spelling of the adjective. Blond is for men, and blonde for women lol

In a month's shopping I might get one pack of hot dogs and the El cheapos are tasting better. Nathan's, too greasy. Hebrew National the same and hard to find around here. I found out the cheap brands taste real good prepared in the pre microwave way, boiled and served on a toasted cheap hot dog roll. Add a little chili and drink a root beer you are young again.

I won't eat brains or tongue, but when you could get a turkey or chicken with some of the organs in a little bag inside, I always thought the heart tasted pretty good.

My wife and I have this regional difference on what we call the evening meal. She, who grew up in Virginia, only refers to it as "dinner." I, however, having grown up in the Midwest, usually call it "supper," unless it's a formal affair.

Then they didn't cook 'em right. Beef heats are delicious. I also eat those kidneys in the thighs of fried chicken, eat gizzard, and liver. I won't eat sesos. Tongue is pretty good. If one is pro-Israel, there is no other vote in November...a second Trump presidency will shift the Middle East back toward a rational examination of Israel, America, and the possibility of dragging itself into the modern world. That means confronting Iran once and for all. Regime change is the only answer. And that would calm the region far more than any ridiculous "Two-State Solution" ever could!

How about starting an actual shooting war like we did in Iraq? I highly doubt Trump wants that, despite the War Pigs seeing opportunity in the wasting of others' blood.
And in the "calm" afterwards, ME countries might not want to buy lots of defensive weaponry to guard against a belligerent Iran. That would be bad for business.
I don't see anything changing for the better any time soon.
