Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Is the Taxpayer-Funded Sesame Street Corporation Colluding With Biden To Push His "Shrinkflation" Talking Point? That's exactly what I thought yesterday when I saw Cookie Monster "innocently" talking about "shrinkflation." Cookie MonsterTalk about shrinkflation is a Biden Op. The real problem is inflation, which Biden caused by his drunken-sailor, buy-every-fraudulent-vote spending binge. Corporations are trying to limit sticker shock, so they're putting less product in packages to make the price increase less painful. So all claims the problem is "shrinkflation," and caused by greedy corporations, are an op to convince people that Biden's inflation isn't the problem. So why would the Sesame Street lefties tweet this? Bonchie points out that "shrinkflation" is a major disinformation op from Biden:
![]()
So this is a major push by The Regime -- and Sesame Street only exists because The Regime steals money from taxpayers to pay their leftwing cronies to make a propaganda show. Note that Sesame Street's taxpayer stipend got cut under Trump -- but was high under Obama and then Obama's stand-in, Biden:
Leaders of Sesame Workshop, the organization behind Sesame Street, would certainly like to see Biden stymie concerns about inflation. In Biden's three years in office, federal agencies have awarded $23 million to Sesame Workshop, federal spending records show. Agencies gave just $8 million to the nonprofit during the Trump years.Zero them out. Zero. Them. Out. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

As mentioned yesterday, Biden announced a fascist price-control effort that will harass and even prosecute producers if they do not cut prices below the profitability threshold to accept the brunt of inflation themselves, and make consumers think inflation has ended
Given the leftward tilt of American companies (and other companies as well), I don't care. They're plenty happy with the fascistic marriage of government and corporations when it's in their favor, so they can suck it up when it isn't. I'm sorry this is happening; best of luck to them. What I find funny is Bernie Sanders telling him to STFU about Bidenomics. People know it’s not great out there because they buy food. Or try to at least.
I also think it’s funny Biden is going after these big corporations who have all veered sharply left. They always eat their own, no pun intended. If the corporations figure out maybe people who know how to run businesses and make money are better stars to which they should hitch their wagon, shrinkflation wouldn’t be a thing. Cereal, by the way, is one of the most volatile products there is. A box of say, Cheerios is all over the place weight-wise. Often by fractions of an ounce.
It's the World's Biggest Pain In The Ass. Cereal containers fluctuate depending on wheat. The price stays mostly the same, kind of, but will vary between say, 15 ounces and 17 ounces depending on whether the buyer needs to save product or dump it on the market. It's rare, very rare, that any cereal box from a major company stays the same weight for even 3 months, ever. Even worse is cat food. That depends on the haul from seasonal industrial fishing. Biden announced a fascist price-control effort that will harass and even prosecute producers if they do not cut prices below the profitability threshold to accept the brunt of inflation themselves, and make consumers think inflation has ended:
This will be a nothingburger, just like the time Joe was going to cure cancer or Kammie was going to fix the border. They'll get a lot of press, hold a few committee meetings to publicly berate CEOs, and then because they can't find any actual wrongdoing, sink back into the swamp. Just like they did with gas prices three or four times during the Obummer administration when every time gas went up, stupid lefties (including Bill O'Reilly) screamed about price-fixing but could never actually find any. MD now wants to tax food and grocery delivery services because it uses less gas for people to go to the store themselves. You know, Global Warming shit. Doesn't matter that there are people who physically can't go to the stores.
Shrinkflation actually works to customer's benefits if it keeps items at the same price so you can still afford to buy it and the end result is a few less chips but at least you can still buy the bag. Inflation causes everything that goes into the production of stuff to go up. Companies still have to make a profit to stay in business. Democrats are so unbelievably stupid about basic economic principles it just boggles the mind. Bongino was ranting about this the other day. About how Democrats believe the most absurd things. The self checkout went to maximum 20 items I think because people were stealing stuff. i like to bag my own groceries. Last tiem I did a big shop and wnet to the self checkout, store guy tried to stop me. I got all indignant. I said you see how big I am(i am pretty significantly vertically challenged). i have to heft my own groceries so I need to pack them myself. He backed right off.If I went through the regular checkout, I would end up with 20 plastic bags with 3 items in each. They have those rotary spinning things so you can't even offer to bag stuff yourself. And I can;t see the running total to note if I am being overcharged for things. Especially annoying.

If you ever wondered if the Democrat party participates in retribution, all you have to note is the absolute silence from the manufacturers relative to this accusation.
I can't imagine taking this out and out falsehood without responding to set the record straight. Sure, there is less product. A good example is pasta. They cut it shorter lowering the amount minutely in each box (which adds up). They reflect that in the net weight. But, the fact that none of the large manufacturers rebut this misdirection and mischaracterization by Biden suggests that they don't want to poke the bear and find an IRS audit in the mail, or some such. If there was only shrinkflation from 'greedy corporations' then folks would see that the store brand is as big as ever without a huge jump in prices. Frito Lay, and other big food corps are using "math is hard" to soften the price jumps on their products but if the price jumps, product decreases, were just to increase corporate profits, small companies would gain market share. But the small companies have to do the same things.

But their young children all watch Sesame Street home, in daycare & in kindergarten. It's a joke when many also 'work' the food pantries. They don't hold a full 32 or 64 GB! It's a ripoff!
Posted by: LenNeal' The Kid is working on getting a few old laptops back up and running that aren't working at the moment due to clock batteries. She had to explain to me why in the fuck anyone would encase a simple 3V watch battery inside a laptop with leads soldered to it, when it goes the laptop fails. But the original storage. I got into image processing in the mid- late-1990s and 32GB? Blade Runner territory. Posted by: LenNeal at March 07, 2024 07:09 PM (9yXr+) 365
