THE MORNING RANT – Can Blue State Refugees Save Red States from the Woke Assault; plus, Transgenderism’s Lucrative Cash Flow Model
Once a customer is acquired, there is only one transaction. One and done. An abortion is performed and the customer walks away.This produces on average $700 of revenue to the abortion provider.
This is not the case with transgenderism cash flows. It is not a one-and-done business model. That is a pretty compelling reason for those who get a cut of that recurring cash flow to want to expand the number of patients needing a lifetime of treatment.

As Jesse Kelly famously observed while walking neighborhoods during a political campaign, if a house has a flag flying outside, the owner is almost certainly a Republican.

While my escape to Tennessee may have been from the red state of Texas, Austin itself had long since become an exclave of California by the time my wife and I left.
For example, so many Californians relocated to Austin, Texas, in order to work in Big Tech that they turned the Capital City into a demographic replica of Silicon Valley. Austin has effectively become a province of California and votes accordingly. However, this has not been the case in Florida under Gov. Ron DeSantis. Tennessee has little in common with Austin.Those who are relocated from blue states to red states for high tech jobs are often colonizers. Those who flee of their own volition are refugees who will make the red state they relocate to even redder. I strongly agree with Pulliam’s final line, which stresses a point I have been pounding on recently – we can achieve real victories in the culture wars at the state and local levels, which is where our most important votes are cast.
Red states should embrace freedom-loving blue state refugees, whether they are “real rednecks” or not. In these tumultuous times, patriots must unite. If America is to be saved, the battle will be fought at the local level, and it is here that the blue state refugees and red state natives must learn to work together as allies.
I can confirm. In 2016 I successfully escaped from California to a deep red Mountain West state. In 2020, after the election, I made an appointment with my GOP state senator to discuss my concerns about voting integrity. She was a late-30s attorney who had lived in the state her whole life and had both her BA and JD from the state university. We ended up talking for over an hour on a wide range of political and social topics beyond just voting. I felt like I was trying to warn a brontosaurus about the incoming meteor. She was still convinced we lived in a Scoop Jackson era of political comity, and was convinced I was greatly exaggerating the threat of woke ideology. In fact, I think she saw ME as a bigger threat because I was trying to change "the generosity of spirit" that defined our very neighborly and kind state. She simply refused to believe that in California and elsewhere there were literally tens of millions of Democrats who actively and aggressively sought to have our state's way of life wholly exterminated. But this is not going down well for the old school locals. They still believe in the “neighborly” way and think the new residents are too extreme and shit. These people are generally older and still buy the local (leftist) newspaper and think Democrats are good people who just have some bad ideas. They have no idea what’s happening on the left.
And the result is a lot of RINOs are now running and getting elected at the local level.

Fortunately he has competition this primary and I will definitely be voting for his opponent.

Related: yesterday's service at our non-woke church had a surprise - a transkid acolyte. Looked like a boy, listed as Mary in the program (no idea whose family she is part of). Another family who had been overseas has returned to our church within the past year with their formerly female child now presented as male. Also noticed that families whose kids who were friends with this transkid before the overseas move have not been in church lately, are no longer acolytes. So. Very good article on "following the money" on tranny atrocities. I've been saying this from the beginning. I do think, however, that the article substantially underestimates the cost -- and therefore the profit motive -- of Big Tranny and it's butchery.
The surgery costs seem probably half as much as they probably are, although it's possible the article only included the "surgeon's" fees and not all the other fees (hospital or "bed" fees, anesthesia, testing, etc).
The pharma costs also seem too low.
But regardless, I agree there are billions to be made in this industry. Now that Covid has exposed the total corruption and degradation of the medical and pharma industry -- if not it's total devotion to profit at any and all costs -- it's all too clear why so many people are pushing this butchery on young, confused people.

I have also found that, at least in my neck of the North Carolina woods (Brunswick County, extreme southeast, on the ocean), people relocating from New York, New Jersey, etc. - over the last several years, at least - are pretty conservative. Most are retirees or people who have bought vacation homes which they expect to make permanent abodes when they do retire, and are not shy about condemning the leftist hell holes from which they fled.

Gen-Z is more bifurcated, but this should *not* be confused for "conservatism" in the way that it is generally understood. The non-prog Zoomers are exactly that. They're anticommunists/antiprogressives, but they are definitely not "conservative" in a way that is recognizable to most people familiar with that dynamic. They are just as radical as their prog brethren, just in a different direction because they recognize that their prog brethren are the inheritors of the current system, because the the current system is entirely progressive.

I suspect that the driving motivation for most Adolescent Gender physicians is not primarily financial. Rather there is a deeper and darker motive of self-justification going on. Take Dr. Richard Levine as an example. He lived most of his adult life as a man, married with two children. In his fifties, while working as an Adolescent Medicine physician he decided to outwardly project himself as a woman, calling himself Rachel and growing his hair long while donning a matronly dress and a string of faux pearls.
How does he justify this delusion? By promoting and even grooming transgender delusions in his patients. He isn't getting rich from the ongoing follow-up of those patients. He is validating his own grotesque existence. He is manufacturing a self-identity as a hero, and it has served him well.

Related: yesterday's service at our non-woke church had a surprise - a transkid acolyte. Looked like a boy, listed as Mary in the program (no idea whose family she is part of). Another family who had been overseas has returned to our church within the past year with their formerly female child now presented as male. Also noticed that families whose kids who were friends with this transkid before the overseas move have not been in church lately, are no longer acolytes. So. The "generation" concept is now out of gas. It was always an aberration and it's over. An "age cohort" exists and always has, but the idea of semi-monolithic "generations" was a temporary consequence of the War and has reached its end. The Millennials are barely a "generation" in the Postwar sense, and the Zoomers probably aren't one.
The only reason this happened in the first place the massive die-off and general pause on reproduction throughout the developed world because of the War, and is a function of its aftermath. It's historically extremely weird to have a period of essentially no births followed by a massive explosion in births for a fairly discrete period. It caused a demographic "reset" and created a "generation." That generation then had kids of their own, but variance started to happen as it always must. The natural state is a hodgepodge (within reason), not bright lines.

The 2,200 small town we live in is expensive. We currently rent a 3/2 double wide trailer that is currently valued at $300,000 on basically a zero lot. There is an independent grocery that is very expensive. We drive 40 miles to a regular grocery that doesn't gouge you.
Don't get me wrong, we love where we live, but it is not cheap like back in the day.

I sometimes think it's an amplification of the fact that we're *all* born in the "wrong" body, to some degree... you're supposed to feel not quite at home as a mammal in meat-space. We're not bodies that have a soul, we're souls that have a body. Etc. etc. etc.
Add to that general human condition the disorienting weirdness of puberty, and then marinate it in all in an entire childhood of authority figures telling you you probably actually ARE born in the wrong body.... it's pretty easy to imagine even relatively sane kids going haywire.

Mark Pulliam’s writing always strikes a chord with me, because he is also a conservative refugee from Austin who fled to the deep-red sanctuary of East Tennessee. And like me, he is troubled by how RINO-infested the GOP political establishment is here, and he’s also concerned that the local citizenry is unaware of the threat to its traditional conservative culture.

My opinion is the social conservatives of the "three legged stool" were taken for a ride for 40 years. Without a doubt the other two legs (financial, foreign policy) didn't give a shit about social conservatism. Social conservatives should've jumped ship in 1990 or earlier after Reagan failed to close down the Department of Education and SCOTUS had their shit ruling on abortion.
At that point it was obvious the Repubs had no intention of enacting policies the social conservatives wanted, except for the occasional bone they were thrown.

Bush v Gore discovered hundreds of thousand registered to vote in two states, and around 60,000 that had voted in both. Rather than publicly prosecute a bunch of oldsters, Repubs let the Dems off the hook in exchange for more rigorous Voter ID, voter roll cleanups, tightened "Residency Period requirements for tax benifits" and some additional fundraising/campaign funds reporting...Florida flipped red, and has been getting redder ever since.

as far as "Generational" stuff goes...this year is the PEAK of the Boomers, largest number of people turning 65 ever, and that number begins to decline next year, and since they, and their children declined to have more children, not even a replacement number of children...demographic as well as economic seismic change will follow. All of the "seniors" that have been paying into SS/Medicare will now be receiving it...and the numbers now paying in are plummeting. When the sole child of 2, 4, or more Parents/step parents, single mothers realizes his/her paycheck is going to have to cover the support of many more people than just him/herself? We are going to see something...likely not pleasant. What happens when instead of 8 people paying into SS/Medicare for each one receiving it, drops to One person paying in for each receiving? Let alone that "Young" demographic also having to cover the "welfare" their parents/grandparents had previously been funding? Paying the "Debt service/Interest payments" of at least a $TRILLION dollars per year?

I agree with the premise that transgenderism offers a more potentially lucrative opportunity and as such is being aggressively promoted and agitated for by the 'stakeholders", including physicians and pharma, but there is another category of stakeholder, the illegal/illicit drug industry. It is correct that the pharmaceutical drug regimen that must be consumed by a transgender patient is sizable, but many (all?) of these same patients also consume mind-altering substances, illegal or otherwise, in order to maintain their illusion (or delusion). This means that over the table and under the table industries are allies in pushing (pun intended) transgender as far as it will go. The revenues from surgery, recovery, conversion, maintenance, therapy, etc are substantial for all involved.
