The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

The hordes pouring across our borders are looters and thieves...coming here for no other reason than personal gain at our expense. They are criminals; that is their nature, and we should expect nothing more from them. We certainly cannot expect respect for our traditions and our history. We cannot expect love of country or any sense of community larger than their tribes, since they are here to take, not to give; to destroy, not to build. And those who who have been dispatched to our shores by the evil players of the world are simply doing what they believe. Should we combat them? Yes. Should we reserve our hate for them? No...they are a symptom, not the cause.

Our vitriol should be reserved for those who have made this invasion possible: our "elite" political class that is happy to facilitate the destruction of traditional American society and culture for their short-term financial gain and their limitless, fanatical drive for personal power. And perhaps worse...the people who do not have any coherent political philosophy, and are vested in the false god of bipartisanship and collegiality and reaching across the aisle simply operate out of cowardice. They know that they have no courage of their convictions, because they have no convictions!

Why I Hate These People

I hate the people who allow our country to be taken advantage of by violent scum who should never have been here.

I hate the people who are too weak and too soft to protect their fellow citizens after being elected to do so.

Truth be told, I hate them even more than I hate the terrorists, extremists and foreign criminals who take advantage of them and (because of them) of us.

Because the terrorists, extremists and criminals are what they are. I expect them to murder, rape and maim. But these people, whom we elected to protect us, know what's going on and are just too pathetic and cowardly to do anything about it.

A plague on all their houses.

Our political class has betrayed us in the most fundamental way. They have failed to protect -- both physically and philosophically -- the structure of our nation. They have caused an erosion of the foundations of our political philosophy by diluting it with an invasion of foreigners bringing ideas that are anathema to the concepts that created America. They have actively pursued open borders that have resulted in a catastrophic drain on our financial resources, concurrent with a catastrophic increase in criminal and other anti-social behavior.

They are the ones to hate...to despise...to spit upon in the street. They are deserving of our hate, our contempt, our anger, and most of all, our dogged pursuit of their political destruction. And if there is justice in the world; imprisonment for their crimes.

Yes...crimes. They violate their oaths of office, they benefit financially from their disloyalty, and they break the law of the land by opening our borders. Those are crimes worse than what the invaders bring!

It's ideology - people can and do have different core values. That's the dangerous part that I think is missed here.

I've made an effort, as unpleasant as it is, to talk to these people on the left. And here's the deal; regardless of class, they're not "faking it". These folks, of ALL classes, are truly wedded to a notion of equal impact - equal outcomes. If that means a different set of rules, based upon race, so be it.

You can forget the idea of reality somehow slapping them in the face, via crime on their own doorstep. They don't care. And they will never change. No less fervent in their beliefs than irongrampa's constant declarations of patriotism.

Depends on what you mean by win.

The federal government is going to collapse. It's simply too far gone into tyranny and graft to turn away. If it were just a matter of electing the right people, there could be hope, but the administrative state simply makes things like winning Congress or the presidency false prizes.

Winning the federal government is a false prize.

Being in a place that will thrive after the federal government collapses is the kind of win we need to be focusing on.

From their own Jan 6 plans if Trump were the declared winner. They were going to cause so much chaos in the Capitol that the House could not hold a certification vote.

This plan was published mid-2020.

Just like I think somebody in the IC suckered Nixon into a coverup of John Dean's illegal surveillance, I think somebody connected to the IC suckered Trump into a Jan-6 rally near the Capitol, so they could put their alternate plans in action.

49 Lefty sites are still VERY quiet about the border. Democracy Now! is almost entirely Palestinian propaganda at the moment, but one article had a funny little snippet:

A federal court in Washington, D.C., heard arguments Thursday in a lawsuit accusing the Biden administration of racial discrimination and rights violations of Haitian asylum seekers. The suit was brought on behalf of 11 Haitian asylum seekers who were abused by U.S. border agents as more than 15,000 people, mostly from Haiti, were forced to stay in a makeshift border encampment on the banks of the Rio Grande near the Acuña-Del Rio International Bridge in Texas. One of the plaintiffs is Mirard Joseph, the asylum seeker whose image went viral after being photographed while a Border Patrol agent on horseback lashed him with split reins, grabbed his neck and gripped Joseph by the shirt collar.

52 One of the greatest crimes against keeping the House of Representatives responsive to the voters was when they voted to limit the size to just 435 seats in 1911.

Which has meant that as the population grows, more people can have their voices silenced because there are only 435 members.

When each seat now represents roughly 800,000 people, that is a lot of people that can be ignored.

This feeds in exactly to the Google Gemini fiasco.

Google spent billions to develop the perfect advertisement for the uselessness of all Google products.

Google's success was built around the idea that you could have instant access to truthful info in an instant.

Between Gemini and and paid position on the page, Google has shown they are not to be trusted because their "product" is held hostage to their nearly insane political beliefs.

Only a fool would use Google. I wonder how long it will take people to figure this out? Google stock should be in a free fall.

Same same for the people we elect who do not protect our borders, economy, lives, safety, futures.

They have proven/advertised their uselessness as leaders and should be relieved of office and perhaps imprisoned.

I personally know 2 ( low income, so it was a devastating loss) families who had cars destroyed the same way.

-------------

Beginning in 2012, most all the Japanese car makers started using soy-based insulation for the wiring (virtue-signaling that they were reducing petroleum use, when in fact it was merely cheaper to produce).

We still have packrats in our area that chew on traditional wires and rubber hoses -- because their teeth never stop growing -- but they definitely seem to be more attracted to the Japanese vehicles (although I'm not aware of any studies that indicate it).

77 I've made an effort, as unpleasant as it is, to talk to these people on the left.

Being powerful in a ruined country, or rich in a country with a valueless currency is no panacea. 162 It is not just the illegals that are committing crimes (other than passing illegally across our borders) but those that come and just want to take, take, and take some more. This country already has huge issues with American citizens mired in generational welfare and others of the free shit army.

If Trump does pull off a win, I would put this a priority one. Mass deportation, and stiff penalties for employers who hire illegals. Also, hold NGO's, UN, churches, and any other organizations liable for swift and painful justice.

Let the left scream and howl. This is not only an economic issue but goes to the heart of National Security.

169 Here's a thought. maybe eliminate Rep by Pop, and adopt rep by affinity. Create a list of social/economic affinities, say maybe 15 or so, and each State picks ten of those that best represent its populace.
1. the Gimmedats, welfare class that rarely, if ever works
2. working poor
3.workers who rent homes
4. workers who own homes
5. the self-employed, and owners of very small businesses
6. business owners with multiple employees
7. professions

Some States might have "oilfield worker" as an affinity, others "fishing industry". Individuals could pick which affinity they wish to use, and could change it, but not in the run-up to an election. Candidates to represent an affinity would have to come from that affinity; a lawyer could not run to represent the Gimmedats.

In a scene in one of Hordeling Daniel Humphry's zombie books, the last one (after the zombies have been stopped) has a WEF equivalent mom demanding the surgeon wife of the main character fix her son's badly broken leg. Surgeon says no. When pushed explains,

Speaking of which: never saw the Jack Reacher films with Tom Cruise (nor read the novels) -- but based on Ace's post yesterday, talked the wifey (whose tastes vary greatly from mine half the time) into giving the TV series "Reacher" a try last night.

Watched the series premiere, and we both loved it!

I don't think these sorts of proposals would work. Increasing their pay won't decrease the desire for more within them. Besides, the numbers who actually make real money in Congress are surprisingly small.

I think that, in order to use financial remuneration as an incentive for good government, the pay needs to be directly tied to specific outcomes. $1 million for every year with a balanced budget, sort of thing.

GOPe officeholders go to the same schools, participate in the same social events, use the same investment banks, and gobble the same corporate dollars as campaign contributions as do Democrats.

For the most part, the GOP conundrum is that if you elect businessmen, they will focus on the economy and to do that will require the cooperation of the mega corps. Thus open borders and endless wars. Or you elect an experienced GOP legislator--a careerist is generally out for increasing their power via controlling corporate funds---McConnell and McCarthy are the result and you get open borders and endless wars.

My jaw dropped when I saw the listing and asking price. i though these people are insane to be asking this much. And, well, turned out they weren't. It sold in about 6 weeks.

Here's my hot take on this - I think that the Reacher in the movies works with Tom Cruise, and Reacher in the series with Alan Ritchson (sp?).

Rewatched the first movie last night. I have yet to read a Reacher book and so the he's a huge 6 foot whatever giant doesn't really come into play for me and those viewers who never read it. AND - in the first movie there is a scene whee Reacher blends into a crowd to disappear. Giant Reacher would not have been able to pull that off.

Also, there are bits in both productions where Reacher says to the bad guys that what they are doing is a bad idea. When Tom Cruise Reacher says it its more of a surprise. If someone takes on Giant Reacher you kind of go well duh you weren't going to beat him.

The hallmark of the first world - and its engine of both stability and growth - is the existence of a robust middle class. It's vanishing. American cities reflect this, as they become seas of relative poverty surrounding islands of tremendous wealth. Our cities like San Francisco become more like Bombay as this process continues.

This is another symptom. Department stores like Macy's tend to cater to the middle class. There are other factors (eCommerce, etc.), but a root problem is that the market they serve is vanishing. They have to change. They can move to the low end, but that market's crowded between existing giants like Wal-Mart and Amazon.

So go high. Lose most of your customers, ratchet up the average ticket into the stratosphere, and hope to maintain differentiation in Veblen Goods.

There is no one neat trick nor a life hack to restore the republic.

It requires reforming society and even for many here--giving up pleasures in turn for very hard work that may end up as futile.

You have a very diverse nation--there are two ways to prevent collapse---one is to return to extreme federalism where the fed only protects borders and national security. The other is to become increasing authoritarian as the government becomes the arbiter over disputes between different social groups, ethnicities, and between elites and plebes. We have chosen the empire design with elected emperor by default and thus are getting the more authoritarian government as a result.

Every day I get multiple ads via email from store I used to frequent at the mall. the amount of money I spend on clothing has decreased dramatically. I also never eat fast food andonly very occasionally eat out. Covid had a much more serious impact that is just now being felt. No longer going to the office means you don;t need fancy clothes or as much of them. you don;t need to eat lunch out with the opportunity to pick up a few things lunchtime shopping. Don't need to gas up the car as often. Etc.

That started around 2000. The Euros did it first because Greta Thunberg is an immediate threat there, and I think it then became an EU law so Detroit and Japan followed suit.

I’m sure Congress could find $10 billion out of the $6 trillion it spends to build some really nice apartments for Congressmen. Free apartments for all members of Congress. Family members must be held hostage back at the home state though.

There is a reason to be at work in the chamber, and that's still no reason for bloated compensation.

Give it in kind. "I can't afford DC housing" is not an excuse if housing is included in your pay package. Build a dormitory.

Make it nice. Build a 700-unit Congressional apartment complex. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, additional room for a home office, nicely-appointed and furnished, utilities included. When you get elected, you get an apartment.

No more "housing cost" poor-mouthing, and a huge "fringe benefit" for being a critter.

Especially since Plague in endemic in the critter population of the Southwest. Currently easily treatable, if correctly diagnosed, but not if we can't get high level antibiotics manufactured any more.

One translation of "The beasts" as bringers of Death in Revelation is "little beasts". We are seeing the ground prepared for multiple major infectious outbreaks. Along with those like Gates doing their utmost to create famine.

Counter-point: that will empower PACs to become king-makers. The permanency problem will not go away. It will just become un-accountable. Also, I'd pay a senator $500k if he'd just do nothing. It's not the pay, it's the graft and ...checks notes ... the destruction of the Republic that's the problem.

Alternatives have been proven worse historically. Churchill put it best when he said that democracy was the worst of all forms of government except for the other forms.

I am more or less a minarchist where I believe most government is best handled at the local level. Still have the power mongers, the power brokers, etc. at the local level but you can always move elsewhere in a minarchist state if they become intolerable to a more compatible locality.

Some of that is what is driving the blue state to red state migration.

364 Fall 2023, IJM - Guatemalan Courts Take Strong Stand against Sexual Violence

In part, "In the last two months, IJM Guatemala has seen Guatemalan courts bring an end to two cases of sexual violence against children with outstanding sentences. The courts sentenced a perpetrator who raped three girls and produced child pornography to 64 years in prison - one of the longest sentences the country has ever seen in a case of this type. In another case, a Guatemalan judge found the perpetrator guilty and sentenced him to 35 years in prison for sexually assaulting his stepdaughter for years. These strong sentences prove that effective prosecution of sexual violence against children is possible in Guatemala."

------------
Criminals of this nature (not just from Guatemala but all countries) have come, and are continuing to come, to the USA because the country(ies) of their origin are prosecuting them without considering "intersectionality."

They violate any number of laws, it's allowing them to shape our criminal justice system, and we keep them and their families to boot.

The major problems of the Articles were poorly governed states like Rhode Island, the federal government was broke and could institute no taxes--only borrow and request money from the states, and each state tried to beggar the other states via internal taxes and regulations on interstate trade.

The Swiss Confederation has lasted despite having a similar setup because it has three linguistic minorities--French, German, and Italian. The cantons have most of the power while the central government is weak.

368 It's high damned time people in the West spoke openly about their naked hatred for their disgusting, wretched ruling class. That's a good step.

For our kids to have any future at all, these regimes must be dismantled.

Not reformed. Toppled. They've become an existential threat to our collective survival. It's them, or us.

But until normies stand up for themselves and say "no more talking. No more bullshit. We hate you, and you need to go right now," that can't happen.

370 34 As I look at the US and other western nations, I cannot fathom what motivates these idiots. There is no explanation that I can figure out for their destructive behavior.

It's ideology - people can and do have different core values. That's the dangerous part that I think is missed here.

I agree. There is a very strong normalcy and assumed similarly bias among a lot of people (especially, in my experience, older Republicans) that keeps them from understanding just how divergent and different the progressive left is in terms of ideology and worldview. Some of them are just Chardonnay and Xanax swilling sheep who go along to stay in the book club, but the true believers are not fronting in the slightest. They're telling you who they are and what they believe as a lot of people respond with denial.

Lt. Col. Bearclaw Vindman is the flip side of allowing legal immigrants into the military.

They are a symptom, not a cure as the Roman legions became a threat to civil authorities precisely because Roman citizens at the core of the Roman state had no wish to fight and die on the peripheries of the Republic so a general could get loot and honors.
