Trial About Documents About the Group "Eagles" Reveals Details of Don Henley's Sexual Exploitation of 14-Year-Old Girl

Weird how #MeToo just completely skipped over leftwingers like Don Henley, huh?

Shocking never-before-seen documents from an ongoing trial concerning allegedly stolen Eagles lyrics shine new light on an infamous night in 1980 when Don Henley was arrested after a teen overdosed at his home.

Henley has always maintained that the overdose happened during a going-away party packed with crew members as the band began a lengthy post-'70s hiatus. Henley was charged with giving cocaine to a minor, but said he took the rap to protect the others.

What An Hero. What An Stand-Up Guy.

He also has maintained that he never had sex with the teen.

"There were roadies and guys in my house -- we were having a farewell to the Eagles," Henley told GQ in 1991. "I got all of them out of the house; I took complete blame for everything. I was stupid; I could have flushed everything down the toilet. I didn't want this girl dying in my house. I wanted to get her medical attention. I did what I thought was best, and I paid the price."

A contemporary letter written by Henley to a Santa Monica probation officer, now introduced into evidence in the unrelated current trial, tells a very different story.

Rather than taking place at a party, Henley writes that he was depressed and alone when he called an escort service.

He admitted the fourteen year old girl did a lot of coke in his presence.

In the letter, Henley says he tried to have sex with the teen before she mentioned that she didn't feel well. He was in the bathroom getting her aspirin, according to the statement, when she began to have a seizure.

Henley called for help, but the teen appeared to have recovered by the time paramedics arrived....

News reports said investigators confiscated 22 grams of cocaine and five ounces of marijuana, as well as Quaaludes and other drugs. The underaged escort, apparently still naked, was charged with prostitution while her 15-year-old friend was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.

Henley later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was ultimately sentenced to two years probation and a $2,500 fine.

As I read this story, I wondered if this scumbag pedophile -- and he is a pedophile; there is no mistaking a fourteen year old girl for an adult -- wrote "Dirty Laundry" as his "I'm the real victim here" cri de coeur.

Apparently, he did just that. The song is the whine of a pedophile who's angry that he got caught.

I feel a lot of hypocrisy here, because while I condemn this scumbag for his pedophilia, I try to block the well-known predation the guitarist of my favorite band on a girl of similar age.

Actually, she was 13 when he "began a relationship" with this 13 year old child.

To literal hell with him too.

And... well, where do we start with Pete Townsend?

Thanks to Mark1971.

🚨BREAKING: There is a claim being circulated by the radical left that President Trump pushed a man at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

The story has gained considerable traction on social media and many are rejoicing over the alleged incident.

However, the man at the center of this controversy, Garrett Ventry, has come forward to offer his version of events.

According to Mr. Ventry, he and the President were having a conversation when the latter gave him a friendly pat on the back.

I posted this in the last thread of this sort..... rock musicians get creepier and creepier as you go back in time.

"She's only seventeen, Daddy says she's too young, But she's old enough for me" - Winger, 1980s

"You're sixteen, you're beautiful, and you're mine" - Ringo Starr, 1970s

"She's only fourteen [...] She's my supergirl and I love her" - Donovan, 1960s

Ringo gets bonus creepy points for being older when he sang it. At least Kip Winger and Donovan were "only" about a decade older than the girls they were singing about.

And there are a lot of other musicians from that era whose work I enjoy so much that I have to separate it from their degenerate lives. Yeah, Jimmy Page. Ted Nugent & Steven Tyler both got underage girlfriends' parents to name them as guardians so they could take the girls on tour with them. Tyler even got his underage girlfriend pregnant and pressured her to get an abortion. Journey's manager Herbie Herbert said they fired original drummer Aynsley Dunbar (formerly of Zappa's band) in large part because his taste for underage girls was putting the whole band in jeopardy on tour. And there's an old clip of Lemmy and Philthy from Motorhead discussing their track "Jailbait," joking about how they had to bring underage girls backstage to keep their fans from getting in trouble with them.

Average life expectancy was lower because of infant mortality. But there weren't a ton of people keeling over in their early 20s. Until the clot shot.

People married earlier because a long "adolescence" wasn't A Thing. In the depression you finished grade school and went to work. At least my grandparents did. Effective adulthood at twelve or thirteen.

They were considered "of age", and were young enough to have more than a dozen kids.
Then, if the wife died, the husband would marry a young woman and do it all over again, with a dozen or more kids (if he lived long enough).

That was before they invented the concept of "teenagers" as a demographic that wasn't children but still wasn't expected to do anything useful.

If we got rid of that demographic concept and allowed them to work and earn money, 16 might start to be a reasonable age for marriage again.

Married into a rich family (that she did the work for), but they shunned her and when her husband died at the age of 42, she was left with three young children with no way of taking care of them. I haven't really researched the topic though. My own Greatgrandmother married at 16 to a 60 year old veteran, but that is an outlier I think. Times were tough and he owned his tobacco farm.

230 1. 16 is legal in the UK.
2. It's hard to explain to people who didn't live through the 1970s and early 80s, but: Parents gave daughters a huge amount of freedom. Weren't supposed to suppress natural desires, or something like that. Moms showed up at hotels where their daughters were cavorting with rock stars. Mom demands entrance, and stays for the fun. Every band from the period has stories like this.
3. Tippi Hedren met young, starving Don Johnson on a movie set. Tippi's daughter Melanie Griffith was 13 or 14 and like many of her peers, was way out of control. Tippi invited Don to move in with Melanie. He did and they were a couple for 20 years or more. This was detailed in a People article when Mel turned 18 that didn't even blush at the whole concept. It was unremarkable.
4. Age of consent in the state I grew up in was 13 in the 1970s. Mexican culture.
5. The Don Henley case happened toward the end of that era. It made the news, probably because of the near death. But the 6th Eagle, lawyer Irving Azoff, was good at making problems go away.
6. When the Eagles reunited in 1988, all band members had to be clean, and reasonably sober.

Posted by: Gordon at February 23, 2024 01:43 PM (ZVR/N)

231 Oh, and it wasn't just California culture. When they were on the gospel circuit, the Oak Ridge Boys had their pick of gorgeous girls, and you can bet the girls' mom knew exactly where the daughter was. When the Boys went mainstream country, their poon opportunities *decreased.* I suspect this is still true of bands and preachers on the gospel circuit, but it's been a while since I was around it.
