Republican Representative Accuses House Intel Committee Head Mike Turner of Recklessly Pushing RUSSIAN Panic Porn Just to Stampede Americans Into Supporting His Corrupt Ukraine Aid Package

Get. These. People. Out. Of. Congress.

But Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) on Thursday accused Turner of having ulterior motives, citing the battle over both funding for Ukraine and a bill to reauthorize the nation's warrantless spy powers -- each of which has raised some Republican opposition.

"This revelation by the chairman was done with a reckless disregard of the implications and consequences said information would have on geopolitics, domestic and foreign markets, and the well-being and psyche of the American people," Ogles wrote in a letter first reported by Punchbowl.

"In hindsight, it has become clear that the intent was not to ensure the safety of our homeland and the American people, but rather to ensure additional funding for Ukraine and passage of an unreformed Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA.) This act constituted poor judgment at a minimum and a complete breach of trust influenced by the pursuit of a political agenda at the maximum."

Ogles said Turner's actions "revealed to the American people an imminent and perhaps existential threat to the United States of America."

Yes, it reveals The Regime intends to rule over Americans as if they were all dukes and kings.

Navalny dropped dead of a heart attack at the worst possible time, from Putin's perspective.

And you know this how? Because Putin and his flunkys would never lie? At least this wasn't the usual defenstration.

The Federal Penitentiary Service of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District said in a statement that Navalny felt unwell after a walk at the IK-3 penal colony in Kharp, about 1,900 km (1,200 miles) northeast of Moscow.
He lost consciousness almost immediately and died shortly afterwards despite the efforts of the prison's medical team and ambulance staff, the prison service said. Attempts to resuscitate him failed, it said.

There are now no opposition leaders of such prominence left in Russia. For some young urban Russians, Navalny also offered hope of an alternative future to Putin, who has served as Russia's paramount leader longer than anyone since Josef Stalin.

85 Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) introduced SB 1160 which would require gun owners to annually register their firearms with the California DOJ.
“SB 1160 will give the state better data and help us understand how many firearms are in private hands and who owns them. Currently, we only have rough estimates on how many firearms are in California. This important step toward registration will also increase accountability and responsible gun ownership as we collectively endeavor to increase public safety.”
An annual fee would be deposited into a special fund for the purpose of carrying out the administration and enforcement of the firearm registry. Registration will not be deemed as evidence that the firearm is lawfully permitted or that the registrant is the lawful owner of the firearm.
“This statue is an important tool to remind all citizens of the civic responsibility that comes with owning a firearm. Indeed, the historic roots for this statue trace back to colonial America."

Unfortunately, that's always going to be step #2. Step #1 has to be securing a place to actually prosecute said infractions. And, until the DOJ is cleaned out there is no place. However, he can get creative on the border issues. The president has the power to deputize state employees to participate in federal acts. So you get a handful of reliable federal officers and assign them to specific states while deputizing recommended state parties as their team. It circumvents Homeland Security's stranglehold and gives the states direct input and action on the border crisis.

I've had three regular barbers in my life. Two of them were women.

I know that there lady barbers at least as far as back as the 50s, because they would sometimes have them on "What's My Line." That means it was generally considered to be an "unusual job" but nothing unheard of.

I dunno when it became more common, though.

235 Wilhoit's law
This quotation is often incorrectly attributed to Francis M. Wilhoit:

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

However, it was actually a 2018 blog response by 59-year-old Ohio composer Frank Wilhoit, years after Francis Wilhoit's death.

You may now continue.

239 Unfortunately, that's always going to be step #2.

The Washington game is to investigate to freeze the target so that they are afraid of communicating, meeting, etc. Been that way since Watergate. Most of the investigations turn up little to nothing but work to freeze the target and prevent them from actually challenging the establishment.

The game in this case is to freeze Congress--most of them would be as bad a witness as Fani on the stand in the various depositions, etc. taken.

Of course they have that covered: Note that "liberals" aren't always the Democrats. The 1850s Democratic Party was the conservative party. It is interesting how the two parties have shifted positions back and forth over time.

This from the people who cheer on efforts to keep the leading candidate for president off of ballots.

Well, he DID try to commit an insumerrection...they also reference him with this quote And the seldom mentioned part and the WTF part are next to each other...He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes and Conditions.

313 Trump's major failing in his first term was not putting heads on stakes outside the castle gate. Granted, he was hogtied in that regard, but it goes a long way to supporting what you're suggesting. I don't think he has any chance at a second term, but should he land the White House again by some miracle, he's not beholden to re-election, and can take the gloves off. The question being, how nasty can he be?

I love (loathe) the efforts at using "conservative" in a way that creates connotations that are provably false.

Yes, Democrats of the 1850s were "conservative", wishing to retain the existing order of the day. How that translates to now when "conservatives" are actually more radical than "progressives" escapes me.

The labels are almost always wrong, but they just don't work with their actual definitions anymore. We all know what they mean, but they don't mean what they actually mean.

There are only about 50 Republicans in the house that want to fix the problems that have been vexing us.

There are at least 40 Republicans that will not vote for any budget or CR that does not have at least a 50B increase in military spending as well as many Republican's in general that will not vote for any budget or CR that does not increase spending in whatever special interest they have or are being paid to represent .

And one of the diabolical ways in which shit get slipped into bills is that these monsters are slipping what he termed was self executing amendments through the rules committee so they don't even have to debate them on the house floor.

Only rules are supposed to go through the rules committee, not legislation.
