Different types of glass manufacture as well.
Float glass tends to be much smoother than drawn glass.
Drawn glass was much cheaper a hundred years ago and started out visible waves. There are other types as well. One (name escapes me now) was cheap but so craptacular that they were only made opaque. That was used a lot in art deco. Coming back but made in smaller lots so pricey.

I started around 4pm and it took about an hour to set in. Basically ten to twelve trips to the can over the next six hours. I guess you could sit there but I hate sitting on the commode.
It wasn't that bad though. I definitely recommend getting those flushable wipes to keep the ass from chafing.
I also quit eating fiber for the most part three days before too; which helped.
The second prep the morning of was much less. Just basically the Gatorade I drank with the Miralax.
Procedure was super easy. Drugs knocked me out quick and felt like I was out for one minute before waking up in recovery.
Took out some polyps. Waiting on the pathology report. Not worried though.

When my youngest moved to an apt she was emotional - she knew she was moving out. She was moving 10 minutes away so I wasn't as affected. Now she is talking about moving to a new state hours away and I am very sad. Not the same as nurse, but similar.

I've been holding a mini-torch (butane, very reliable, piezo electric ignition, one button push) in one hand, while gassing up on long trips, for a long time. Head on a swivel, obviously alert and aware of my surroundings while stopped. Anyone messes with me is gonna get wet like in the video, they persist, and they'll literally get lit the fuck up as well.

This election season reminds me of what it must have been like to live in the 50s Cold War, when everything told you that at any minute there could be a nuclear war. You KNOW the junta has some plan to keep Trump out but you don't know what or how awful it will be and there isn't a whole lot of practical things you can do about it.

The injuries are likely due to poor conditioning in people who think it's just a game for old people who aren't very mobile. Middle aged people (like myself) play the game a lot more aggressively than the typical older person. We try to cover the court more fully and attempt to get to balls that older people likely wouldn't. There are also a lot of younger people playing now and we try to keep up with them. If you don't stretch well and warmup properly, it can lead to pulled muscles and tendonitis.

I would characterize the '50s as a calmer, more predictable time in America than any decade since then.

I can almost picture the glasses. The joint my hubby and I used to frequent also offered those "fishbowl sized" drinks. They were really hard to pass up.
