After Failing Once, House Impeaches Secretary of Open Borders Population Replacement Alejandro Majorkas

Good.

The U.S. House of Representatives has voted 214-213 to impeach Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis.

...

The impeachment vote was based on accusations that Mayorkas deliberately flouted existing immigration laws, exacerbating the migrant crisis at the U.S. border.

Three Republicans voted against the impeachment, expressing concerns over the precedent it could set for future political impeachments.

The impeachment vote was a contentious one, with every House Democrat rallying to protect Mayorkas during the previous attempt. This time, however, the vote passed by a slim margin. The three Republicans who voted against the impeachment - Reps. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin (retiring), Ken Buck of Colorado (retiring), and Tom McClintock of California, criticized Mayorkas' handling of the border crisis but questioned whether it warranted impeachment. McClintock, in particular, warned of the potential for this to set a precedent for politically motivated impeachments in the future.

Of course, this does not remove him from office, and of course, the pro-Open Borders senate -- including open borders "Republicans" -- will fight to keep him in office.

In fact, even though the Constitution requires a trial after a vote for impeachment, Democrats (and Mitch McConnell, I'm sure) are scheming to blow off the trial and just ignore the impeachment.

CBS "News:"

"[The Constitution] says that the Senate 'shall' have the sole power to hold a trial, but that 'shall' is doing a lot of work there and it doesn't mandate it," says Casey Burgat, the director of the Legislative Affairs Program at George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management. "And in a lot of people's eyes, it doesn't force it."

The Senate rules suggest that once the chamber receives the articles of impeachment from the House, they must schedule a trial to begin the following day, Burgat explained. But a majority could vote to "reinterpret" the rules, opening up a number of avenues to speed through, delay or dismiss the impeachment outright.

"Depending on the entrepreneurship of the people there and how much the majority is willing to not do that, they've got a lot of options to kind of rejigger the rule," Burgat said.

Yeah we're doing a lot of rejiggering of the Constitution lately anyway. Might as well just scrap this 100+ year old plan of self-government.

That doesn't mean the impeachment is without effect. Once the House impeaches a target, its power to demand documents and testimony -- evidence, in other words -- expands and The Regime's power to "rejigger" the rules in their favor shrinks.

Related: Mayorkas personally rejected RFK, Jr's request for Secret Service protection, saying "YOLO!" and rolling the dice on yet another Kennedy assassination.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who today faces a second impeachment vote in the House, personally rejected an "urgent" appeal from independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secret Service protection.

In a letter dated July 21, 2023, two weeks after the urgent appeal, Mayorkas dismissed the request without explanation.

Probably a one day affair, to be honest.

Mayorkas will get acquitted, and it'll probably be with a handful of GOP votes, too.

The trial will almost certainly end in an aquittal for Mayorkas.
But I am hoping the trial itself will bring to light the present disaster at the border, and how much Mayorkas has done to expand this problem. How much he has lied.
The Democrats (and others) will go on record voting "for" this, ie, aquitting Mayorkas.

How did you measure this leg shortening? There's a pretty simple parlor trick to make you think one leg is longer than the other I read about in a book on various pseudosciences. Chiropractors used to use it a lot.

92 The article is incomplete
"Impeachment Rule XI allows the Senate to create trial committees to hear and consider evidence and report it to the Senate. Such committees were not intended to be used for presidential impeachments, but four of the six impeachment trials completed since 1936 concerned federal judges, and in each of these cases the Senate established a trial committee."

Since this is the first cabinet officer tried since William Belknap in the 1870's, my guess is that Rule XI will apply here and the house managers and defense will be heard in committee. This also means that the senate biz will go on. The committee then renders a report for the Senate and the actual impeachment trial is simply a vote by the Senate yea or nay with the Senator Pro Tem or VP presiding.

Nixon v. US upheld the constitutionality of the Senate's use of Rule XI to try him (Walter Nixon, not Dick), by arguing that the Senate, other than in the case of the Prez, has plenary power to decide how to address the impeachment trial and due process did not include Nixon being able to address the floor and cross examine witnesses before the whole Senate.

117 Ace, about your hip: I have an exercise they gave me (flipped a bike over a brick wall, rotated my pelvis forward on one side, same leg issues affecting back with bad sciatic pain).
After osteopath put it back in place, said the muscles on one side had tightened up, and other side stretched from the misalignment, and the tight side would keep pulling it back until things equalized.
Get on one knee next to a chair or something, with the upper and lower legs forming a right angle on both supporting leg and raised leg. Holding the torso straight, flex forward into the bent knee of the supporting leg and hold to feel the stretch (and the gainnnnz? lol). Repeat with other side, alternating for a few sets.
Really relieves my sciatic pain when I feel it threatening, or when my back is saying "watch it!".

Mayorkas's impeachment keeps the spotlight dead on the border...and doesn't create a "revenge" motive that a Biden impeachment vs Trump would have (with everyone then automatically close-minded)...

It's a political move trying to win the 2024 elections. It was well done by Johnson for getting his non-existent majority to work with him to deliver a proactive R voter win (since all the rest of his 2024 wins can only be reactive, by turning down votes, b/c he's the minority of a majority vs the Uniparty)...

A little history of Buck and it explains his mindset:

In 1990, Buck joined the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado, where he became Chief of the Criminal Division. Buck was formally reprimanded and required to take ethics classes in 2001 for a meeting he had with defense attorneys about a felony case he thought should not be pursued. Buck said he is "not proud" of the incident that effectively ended his career with the Justice Department, but that he felt it was unethical to prosecute such a "weak" case. One of the three men donated $700 to Buck's 2010 Senate campaign. His career has had quite a few instances of controversy with Buck being weak and stupid.

The wallet advice is correct. Your obliques may be stronger on the hip that doesn’t drop. Actively engage the obliques on the opposite side when you are standing to even things out. When you work out and are doing anything that is in a fold over or plank position, to include pushups, squeeze the side that drops more actively to lift your hips to even and begin to equalize the muscle strength. You will always have one side stronger than the other, we are not symmetrical beings, but you can make it better.

Valentine's is a day to celebrate love. This post is to show love for John Fetterman. His backstory on Israel is one you probably don't know, and it explains why his support is unlike anything we've seen in a long time, if ever.

Almost every pro-Israel user on Twitter/X remembers Fetterman draping himself in the Israeli flag at a massive pro-Israel rally. And who could forget him climbing on his roof to wave the Israeli flag to taunt the pro-Hamas "protesters" who descended upon his home?

But the background is deeply moving. The origin story of Fetterman's profound love for the Jewish people -- like so many great love stories -- was borne out of tragedy.

My wife's chiro does a good job at back cracking, but the guy's into a LOT of woo-woo BS. I openly rolled my eyes at him when he had my wife hold out her arms while he repeatedly pushed down on her arms and repeated the names of allergens. When he reached one in particular, he forced her arm down. According to him, that was the allergen she was suffering from and the treatment of which was some back cracking.

That's another of the tricks snake oil salesmen or religious cultists often use. In that position, no matter how strong you are you can put up little resistance to the person pushing on your arm. So if he doesn't push hard, it stays up and if he does, it goes down.

Just snapping shit back into place does nothing but relieve symptoms briefly and make your joints weaker and weaker every time until you got yourself a real problem on your hands instead of a nuisance problem.

A good chiro can figure out the root cause and use other therapies and rehab exercises in conjunction with realignment to actually help you. Which i assume is more or less what osteopathy is at its core.

Can we get some real conservatives to wear the Republican label instead of being backdoor Democrat whores?

The second Trump announced his candidacy the Uniparty trampled all notion of restraint and precedent concerns by enlisting the Intel agencies to spy on Trump, likely orchestrated by Hope n' Change, fraudulently impeaching him twice, unleashing total war lawfare - to bankrupt him, undermine the 2024 election, and toss him in prison for life - rigging the 2020 elections, smeared him endlessly as a racist, and a years ling full court press by the Democrats, federal agencies, the Hawaiian court system, Blue state governments, and NGOs to block every aspect of his administration.

Precedent? Precedent has been established by the Uniparty and the time has come to make them play by and experience the consequences their own rule making.

These are often caused by abdominal muscle spasms. The abdominals are much stronger than the back muscles, and when the abdominal muscles spasm, the back muscles go into a full lock to try to keep you upright, which puts spinal compression on the Sciatic nerve. Spasms in the quads in the legs can do this also.

Walked around on it with my body compensating and compensating for about a year, then one fine day could not get out of bed or walk.
Crawled to the bathroom, staggered to the car with husband's help to go to osteo, massive crippling sciatic pain.
When he realigned, immediate relief.
Then walked funny with one leg tight, and the other rubber-swinging from the hip until the muscles got used to where they were supposed to be again.
Hips tried in the worst way to go back to out of alignment!
For years since, whenever I start to get warning twinges, down on one knee I go, and stretch stretch stretch, both sides.
It still helps like magic.

215 117 Ace, about your hip: I have an exercise they gave me (flipped a bike over a brick wall, rotated my pelvis forward on one side, same leg issues affecting back with bad sciatic pain).

236 > Best thing for Sciatica is to stretch that ass.

There's a weird but true thing where people's glutes don't activate much when they're doing physical activity. People will get super tight hammies and sciatica problems because of it. The fix is to do a bunch of exercise that focus on activating the glutes. Things like goblet squats, pelvic thrusts will do.

Even semi-pro athletes can have this issue.

Posted by: bonhomme at February 14, 2024 03:02 PM (Odg76)

237 215 117 Ace, about your hip: I have an exercise they gave me (flipped a bike over a brick wall, rotated my pelvis forward on one side, same leg issues affecting back with bad sciatic pain).

Aren’t we all! And as we approach 29, we should incorporate balance work into our exercise programs. This doesn’t have to be yoga, if that thought bores you to tears. 1 day a week of your exercise schedule should be dedicated to core strength/ balance work and restorative stretching. The other 5 or 6 can be cardio, functional strength and toning, the blend of which is dependent on your personal fitness goals.

That said, I think a lot of the claims it doesn't work are based on a simple line of specious reasoning. If the device detects shots, cops are dispatched, and they find nothing, that's marked down as a false positive. But it's entirely possible someone fired off some shots, hit nothing, and everyone scattered.

One of the most interesting little asides in the Putin interview is when he was speculating why the end of the Soviet Union didn't mean much change in Russian Policy. He was saying that there were all these experts in Russia in the governments of the west and advising the governments in the west who suddenly saw a future without jobs for them. Last time was when I had carried sacks of concrete across wet, slick clay for half a day. I had to change my stride to not fall, but didn't think much of it.

About 3AM, one of my calves reminded me very strongly of that previous activity!

Usually I can grab my toes to pull out the calf cramp, but my back was tight.

I had to roll my tired a$$ out of bed and stretch against the floor to break the cramp. It was strong enough that I tore a few muscle fibers and had to limp for about four days.

A lesson the Wehrmacht learned the hard way in 1942 was to never let the Russians get a solid foothold across a river line. It needed to be eradicated while still small, using whatever forces were available. If not, the Russians would steadily reinforce and expand the bridgehead no matter the cost, steadily increasing the difficulty of eradicating it. A lot of those river bridgeheads became large enough to create a good jumping-off place behind German lines for large attacks as part of a big offensive.

How large is the Russian 'bridgehead' in Ukraine? How well did the Ukrainians do last summer at eradicating the fortified Russian 'bridgehead' in Ukraine? The Russians remember their lessons.

400 Why would a conservative voter donate to the NYGOP?
Posted by: TheJamesMadison

=======
I gonna get some flack for this but simply put--biography candidates are run for what pols failure theater on the lines of the Producers. The campaign managers, the NY GOP, the candidate all get a cut of the people that donate. Biography minority candidates often attract virtue signalling donations like the Kim Klacik campaign which somehow never result in seats gained.

You can pull off an upset here and there (see Maya Flores in TX or the Vietnamese guy in New Orleans back in the day) in special elections but usually the normal district vote reasserts itself in general elections.

Want to make your donor dollars work---give to candidates that have a chance--not beautiful losers. Candidates that have run races and won in that district have experience and some vetting so you don't get embarrassed like with a Santos in the first place.

Posted by: Gref at February 14, 2024 03:31 PM (5fDan)

Russia holds about 20 percent of the land area of Ukraine currently. They took more land in the summer of the offensive elsewhere on the line than they lost in the offensive zones. They also didn't even crack one of the actual defensive lines build over the previous 5 months. The nine brigades we sent weren't going to dent any kind of determined defense, they could hardly man the corridor to the sea if they took it, a brigade front is what, 5 miles or so?

It seems the lesson of this war is that large formations attract missiles and drones, so small infantry groups backed by a few AFVs are all that work and hold ground. But eventually you run out of troops or ammo, and Ukraine is close to that now.

I have zero issue watching Putin's forces taking the brunt of our weapons testing process, the next gen development or ultimately helping us with counter drone strategies. There have been a number of ships and subs dinked by these drones over the last 2 years and after the initial bluster in the media Russia rebuilds them and moves on. What makes it more irrelevant is that Ukraine has no navy left to take advantage of a sunken barge, since all their vessels have been sunk. Russia is going to walk to Odessa if they get there, by fighting or by negotiation.
