I didn't realize Billie Lourd is Carrie Fisher's daughter. She's very prominent in the American Horror Story series.
She's got plenty of her mom's charm. Apparently there was a falling out between her and her mom's siblings, after her mom's death. I don't know the details, not really my business, but I think Carrie got a walk of fame star, or something, and Billie didn't invite Carrie's siblings to it. Short answer: they cheat and use a parachute. @JMilei 11h DESARMANDO EL GRAMSCI KULTURAL (translated by machine) The root of the Argentine problem is not political and/or economic, it is moral and its consequences are political cynicism and economic decadence. This system is rotten and wherever it is touched, pus comes out. Lots and lots of pus. Gramsci pointed out that in order to implement socialism it was necessary to introduce it through education, culture and the media. Argentina is a great example of this. When one exposes the hypocrisy of any sacred cow of the well thinking progressives, their heads explode and they immediately resort to all kinds of emotional responses and false and nonsensical accusations in order to defend their privileges to the hilt. Posted by: Kindltot at February 16, 2024 08:45 PM (D7oie) 138
Thus, not only are those who receive the privileges of politicians in terms of remunerations that cannot be validated in the market exposed, but also those politicians, governors and mayors who make use of the resources provided by tax payers to make political propaganda, and of course the most wretched beings in politics appear in search of some little advantage that is leveraged on political correctness (even if in the end it implies a violent act). Undoubtedly, whichever column of Gramsci's edifice is denounced, the recipients of privilege from the other two will rush to their aid.
Therefore, the most marvelous thing about the cultural battle taken to the politics of the principle of revelation is that when one points out the sacred cows of Gramsci's building, it automatically generates a line of separation between those who live off the privileges of the State and the good people. Here the problem is not the individual actor. It is a cultural architecture designed to sustain the model that benefits politicians. Well, we have come to put an end to that. However, many do not see it and cannot enjoy this kind of applied... LONG LIVE FREEDOM DAMNIT...!!!!!! Posted by: Kindltot at February 16, 2024 08:45 PM (D7oie) 139

No chance. The late seventies and early eighties were the best. Rock’em Sock’em robots and that Evel Knievel toy were the best ones out there. I guess you could also throw in to $6 million man.
We also had parents that let their kids stay out ‘till dark, and live life and learn about life. there’s a reason people today look back at the 80s with nostalgia and wish they were there, it is because they wish they were there. I don’t excuse people saying well times are different and you can’t do that today, but I’m not a parent. But to be honest, there would be no difference. Kids today should be raised like they were in the 80s. There’s no excuse for making things worse and making people less able to navigate the world. Also, we had the best video game culture. You had to actually go to the mall get on a Galaga machine and throw in your quarter. It wasn’t 30 year old guys doing whatever it is they do these days regarding gaming. I guess the main thing they do is talk about it a lot. Posted by: Quint at February 16, 2024 08:58 PM (GHj1L) 158

Psychiatry is a mysterious discipline.
The psychiatrist who led efforts in 2017 demanding a 25th Amendment ouster of then-President Donald Trump said she does not have the same concerns about President Joe Biden, despite a Justice Department report last week that said Biden has “diminished faculties.” Bandy X. Lee, a forensic psychiatrist who edited the 2017 book“The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,” told The Daily Signal and the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project that Biden’s case is different. Asked about special counsel Robert Hur’s report, she, “Cognitive decline is a normal part of aging.” But she concluded, “The 25th Amendment question, therefore, is even more relevant to Trump, as long as he wishes to be president again, but neither appropriate nor relevant for Biden at this time.” - I guess there's good crazy and bad crazy. Posted by: A dude in MI at February 16, 2024 08:50 PM (/6GbT) ---- Best was repaving the old fashioned way, NOT with premixed bitumen and gravel but instead gravel followed by hot liquid tar and then more gravel. Then the huge, heavy roller. Of course along the side there would be small puddles of warm tar, great to squish bare feet in. Marvelous sensation ....... problem was the (eventually) cold hard tar stuck to the feet. As an "astute" 6-7 yearold I figured Mum wouldn't notice if I covered it all up with mud. However Mum hosed my legs down and that uncovered the tar. Had to be removed painstakingly with kerosene interspersed with spankings. Signed up for Pandora. I'll try it out. If I don't like it, I'll just buy a fucking CD player. Who needs these SV fags, anyway?

what is it always "Drug fueled orgy " ??
Because if you think about it, it's not really the kind of thing you'd do unless you were impaired one way or another. Posted by: Oddbob at February 16, 2024 10:04 PM (sNc8Y) 194
Re: Japan
I lived in Kyoto for 4 1/2 years in the mid-late 70's. Not many locals spoke English then, so you had to get off your duff and STUDY pretty damned quick and/or find a bilingual girlfriend. (I studied the entire time I was there.) The contrast between Kyoto (still traditional) and Tokyo ( an ocean of concrete) is huge. I don't know how it is now, but I'd still "go for it". (As it turned out I wound up in the computer business, forcused on Japan, as I knew the language and the social/business culture. ) Posted by: Noam Sayen at February 16, 2024 10:53 PM (bl/qr) 195
194, very cool, Japanese is tough. I’ve been studying French in Spanish for probably 30 years back-and-forth and off and on and pretty much can only come up with some type of Franish.
My dad lived in Japan off and on for a year at a time serving in the military. at one point he lived with a Japanese family and he became better with chopsticks than they were. They themselves would say that. I don’t recall him speaking more than a handful of words of Japanese, though.
