An interesting portrait on several levels. The young women are handsome but not idealized. There is a sense of comfortable intimacy (I'm not talking about lesbians) between the two which is furthered by the way Thayer merges parts of their figures. And there is a protectiveness from the shorter, older sister in the way she holds the younger one's waist. The background is bland but not disruptive which allows the figures to stand out. And their skin tones, while natural, almost seem to glow against the background and the dark clothing, another way to focus the viewer's attention on the sisters.
Their facial expressions catch my attention. Both are composed but looking at something with mild anticipation. Perhaps they are meeting young men in the next room or wondering what they will encounter through the doorway. Posted by: JTB at February 13, 2024 09:53 AM (zudum) 120

Counting heavily on the intervening post numbers:
The Subaru "lesbian" campaign was 30 years ago, and one must wonder if everyone here knows where Henry Ford stood on The Jewish Question. Of special note, back when part of Hollywood was known as "Boys' Town," the percentage of male homos owning Jeeps was higher than that of female homos owning Subarus, but the gheymobile jokes on Jeep faded by the millennium. This says a lot about how up to date and hep we are here. Every lesbaru quip deserves a Gay Wrangler for balance. Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at February 13, 2024 09:55 AM (zdLoL) 126

Does Wall Street cheat? Of course they do. A previous poster mentioned the 1987 crash and what’s going on. Today is nothing like that not even close. For one the market would have to be down at least 2500 points and I’m talking to Dow to compare to 1987.
In theory the markets reflect what everyone thinks about the economy, but if people think there’s going to be a huge crash right before this election coming up, that will hurt Biden, I am extremely skeptical. Used to see the market was weighing machine over the long-term. Asking Uber eats or DoorDash driver if illegal immigration has hurt his business. That entire business model is based on the lowest common denominator. People are paying huge gas prices, huge insurance prices, and risking their own lives doing a very dangerous job just to get tips that would shame people in the 1970s. I remember Domino drivers that said the minimum they would get was three dollars plus the change for a delivery and that was in the mid 80s. Today you have tipping gig economy people a dollar or two dollars..
You might ask why this is the case why this is going on the reason is they have no way to distinguish themselves they don’t get business just because they do a better job. The entire business model is and you never know who’s going to do your delivery. For for every person who takes it seriously and does it well there are other guys who don’t give a crap who are stoned to the hell mark, or recent illegals. I only mentioned this is one example, but when you have hundreds of thousands of illegals pouring in of courses going to happen. Was that a great show!!! His playing was exceptional and the band was red-hot great solos all through the night, I strongly urge you to go if he's in your area. If you're unfamiliar with David Sanborn, he basically played with every single major rock and jazz star in the 70s-90s and on their biggest albums. His saxophone playing/style is immediately recognizable. I honestly hope they put out an album of these live tour cuz I'd snap it up immediately. On the sad side, this may be his last hurrah because he had to0 be helped to walk on stage and sat in a chair the whole time. Regardless, his playing was great and so was the band. I've never seen The Sisters painting before now and it didn't especially grab my attention at first glance. After studying it, it can have some personal meaning to me and so I would hang it.
As I 'confess' here on occasion, I lost my (younger & only) sister February 2015. When I got that 0630 am call, I already had airline tickets to Florida for the following AM because I had originally planned to fly down as our mom had been placed on hospice. Only registering the 386 prefix of the phone number calling & it flashed in my mind I had screwed up badly and missed the opportunity. So, yeah, it was a shocker the call was about Sis. In Florida, despite the arrangements I had to make concerning my sister's passing, I was with our mom in the afternoons & into the nights until she passed less than a week later, February 14th. It's not as bad as it might seem for I had opportunities to say goodbye to both. And, after sometime thereafter, came to believe it was probably destiny for the three of us. Thanks, CBD. Anyone talking about the economy without recognizing that the federal institutions -- that are charged with providing us with unadulterated data by which we can form predictions -- are thoroughly corrupted and lying their asses off to protect politicians, is missing the point entirely.
People here understand the Covid books are cooked, but then turn the page and dissect financial data like kt isn't. Same kind of disconnect that occurs when people state all our institutions are corrupt but then take everything at face value regarding the ones they favor (law enforcement, defense). There's nothing to discuss in a country that announces counting has stopped in the middle of the night, doesn't stop counting, and has new results to announce in the morning. You are always being lied to. About everything. Posted by: Turtles All the Way Down at February 13, 2024 10:59 AM (pjs7m) 420
