In Soviet Russia, dog pets your hand.

Another poor dog attempts backing his way towards a cat, hoping that the cat will think he's actually walking away and not swat him.

This cat is not playing hard to get.

The real Karate Kid.

Lioness reads the riot act to her husband.

This little kitty went to market...

My husband never bursts out into La Donna e mobile when he has coffee at home.

A real cowboy will always find a way.

What was that?

Nice digs. Scroll through the pictures. It's a house carved into the limestone of a cliff.

Bighorn sheep (?) is opposed to the surveillance state.

Sunshine in Sardinia.

To the spoiled goes the victory:

19 CHEIROPTERA, OR HAND-WINGED ANIMALS

Fancy a great frightful animal like a weasel, with wings two feet in length, being served up at table. Still they must be palatable, since one species has thus been named by naturalists, ‘the eatable’ bat. The flesh is stated to be white, delicate, and remarkably tender, and is regarded by the inhabitants of Timor as a dainty.

35 The wombat, a bear-like marsupial quadruped of Australia, is eaten in New South Wales and other parts of the Australian Continent. In size it often equals a sheep, some of the largest weighing 140 lbs.; and the flesh is said by some to be not unlike venison, and by others to resemble lean mutton. As it is of such considerable size, attaining the length of three feet, it has been suggested that it might be worth naturalizing here

37 I also dug out the Criterion Collection Edition Blade Runner on Laserdisc.

Too bad I no longer have a working LaserDisc player.

And the problem with most laserdisc players you're going to find on ebay have s-video outputs which will get you a luminance and crominance channel at 480 scan lines and then you would have to run it through a converter to get an hdmi signal, which would, at the end of the day, look like crap.

I think I will just frame it and hang it in my den.

Oddly enough, no - but my son and I saw lots of them in flip flops with no water, or gear of any kind, starting the climb up at around 2pm, when we were back down off the trail. Monumentally foolish. We started at first light.

Those trails do not have protection for the climbers (in most areas) and are pretty severe. I'm probably at the point now where I need to think good and hard about "am I a safe enough hiker to attempt it?"

111 Embattled Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel plans to resign after the South Carolina primary, the New York Times reported Tuesday evening.

The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, has told former President Donald J. Trump she is planning to step down shortly after the South Carolina primary on Feb. 24, according to two people familiar with the plans.

Mr. Trump is then likely to promote the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, Michael Whatley, as her replacement, according to several people familiar with the discussions. Under the arcana of the committee’s rules, however, Mr. Trump cannot simply install someone, and a new election must take place.

Mr. Trump likes Mr. Whatley for one overwhelming reason, according to people who have discussed him with the former president: He is “a stop the steal guy,” as one of the people described him. He endorses Mr. Trump’s false claims about mass voter fraud and Mr. Trump believes he did a good job delivering North Carolina, a 2020 swing state, to him.

So when my company got robbed out of business, and I got run over by a truck, he came over and took everything material I had left, including my 1950's Lionel train set, the camera gear I bought in Vietnam, and all my electronic equipment, so he could fulfill that Bible verse. 194 At a press briefing Monday evening, Pelletier led the room in 100 seconds of silence "to honor those we lost."

"If it seems like that was long, realize this: for the families, the pain never ends, and the silence is deafening," Pelletier said.

The 98-page document paints a picture of chaos on Maui as winds from a Pacific hurricane fueled a series of fires that started throughout Aug. 8 in four different locations on the 727-square-mile island. As one blaze was contained, another seemed to start. Then finally, with the ferocity of the gales of Hawaiian legend, the winds fueled a fire in Lahaina that made it impossible to see, collapsed communications systems, downed power lines and rendered evacuation routes nearly useless, according to the report.

Stop projecting. About the individual heroes the GOP puts in front of you. That's the first step. Once you do that, seeing the GOP for what it is gets pretty easy.

For whoever is left - lets take a quick survey. Who thinks Bill Barr was another of the names that worked for the Establishment against Trump ? And who thinks Bill Barr was a straight-shooting, bag-pipe playing lover of the Constitution.

I've looked at RCP; 538; and also Googled "NY-3 special election polls."

The ONLY poll I can find is a Jan. 15 Emerson poll:

Suozzi (D) 45

Pilip (R) 42

To describe Pilip as "an Ethiopian woman" is sort of dopic, considering she's Jewish and a former IDF paratrooper, to boot.

As for being a "registered Democrat," so was Trump.

The worst kind of shill. You don't even do it for money. You do it over a faith in a party of men. No matter how often they fail and betray you.

If you only did it yourself, it wouldn't be so bad. But you're Evangelical in your faith in the GOP.

President Trump was not a registered democrat when he ran for president He was a registered Reppublican.

Ms. Pilip is a registered democrat TODAY.

I never registered as a Republican when I lived in NYC.

Its a Democrat town, so the only real political play is trying to effect Donk Primaries.

269 Well a Republican who is open about her membership in the Democrat Party is at least more honest than the other couple hundred.

No, it's not. The pronoun in this case is the subject of an object clause, so it's WHOever.

271 That's the deep trailer park thinking I've come to expect from you.

Calling it Trailer Park doesn't make it wrong, Jack. But that's how it works where you live. You don't attack the argument. You attack the status of who makes it. Because that matters, where you live, and the type of folks you choose to associate with.

It's a very, very Yankee reaction. And, frankly, very Boomer. You asked for it. You got it.

It's the insistence that the Emperor is indeed clothed. Because who am I to suggest any different.

275 I think it's grossly misleading to describe Pilip as "an Ethiopian woman," as if she were some Squad type.

Why would anyone be hostile to her? She's Jewish & she fought for Israel.

As for being a "registered DEM now," she won a contested GOP primary; she's said she'll support Trump; and her campaign positions on issues such as immigration are pretty conventionally MAGA.

I'll be honest ... I don't know if it's who or whom. I also don't care. So I'm not going to do a victory lap because somebody jumped in and said I got lucky. It was a 50 / 50 proposition.

But I will pepper your ass for exactly what you did. Attack my argument. Not my grammar. Or, as you tried, my popularity.

Dipshit.

But srsly, my hands are SHAKING to re-download a stupid Android game called Fishdom. I've deleted the addictive time-destroyer and reinstalled it 20 times. The last time I deleted it, I swore I'd stay away for my BIL, who's in a dire health situation. I feel like I'll break my compact with a higher power if I reinstall it. But I want to play the dumb game, AAGHHH.
