Walgreeen's Shuts Down Four Locations in Majority-Black Roxbury, Boston, and Local "Activists" Are Outraged at the "Corporate Greed" of People Not Wanting to be Robbed Blind Every Single Day

As this CBS "journalist" summarizes the issue: "Why do you think Walgreen's is targeting black and brown neighborhoods?"

She refuses to ask anyone about rampant looting putting this store out of business.

In Matt Walsh's recap, he points out that Walgreen's doesn't expressly mention crime, although crime is very much a factor in Roxbury Walgreen's. Matt Walsh runs a clip of a cop talking about the rampant shoplifting, and the utter uselessness of even making an arrest, because of the DA's policy of absolutely refusing to prosecute any "non-violent misdemeanor," for any reason. He mentions one case of the same woman robbing the same store three times in one day. The cops only bothered arresting her "out of exasperation," but she won't be prosecuted. They merely slowed her crime spree down for a couple of hours.

So now these corporations just don't say why they're closing stores in jurisdictions that have legalized crime. They're just closing them for "marketing purposes" and as part of "chain-wide restructuring," doncha know.

Which the "journalists" at CBS in Boston think means "targeting black and brown neighborhoods."

The entire agenda of the left is demanding that we shift the costs of anti-social, destructive, anti-civilization criminal behavior to innocent, law-abiding people, who are demanded to pick up the costs for this banditry and mayhem.

Thieves are looting these stores blind, and "community activists" in "black and brown neighborhoods" demand that innocent, law-abiding people allow themselves to be ripped off into the poor house so that the actual criminals can continue stealing without penalty.

And if you point this out -- that no one is going to operate stores in "communities" where the community had decided to authorize banditry and predations against the law abiding, then the law abiding are going to leave -- they just silence any discussion about their own insane priorities being to blame for this by calling you a "racist" for, as usual, the crime of noticing. Noticing crime and sociopathic dysfunction, and noticing that people will not voluntarily bring their wealth into areas in which the "community" has authorized the theft of that wealth.

That's pretty much a foundational principle of society at this point, embraced, as near as I can tell, by a majority of black and whites alike. Or, if not embraced then silently acquiesced in. 52 I think what's going on with the closing of these stores is more than just rampant crime and theft. I think it's a combination of the following:

1. Drug stores drastically over-expanded in a foolish race to see who could be biggest.

2. I think these stores being closed were never really commercially viable in the first place. They were pressured to open there by community activists, possibly in exchange for permits to open more lucrative stores elsewhere.

3. And yes, rampant theft hurts the bottom line and makes certain stores not worth the trouble to keep open.

Interestingly, just across the road is a moderately expensive grocery store. That store doesn't seem to have the same clientele issue.

There's a Western Beef -- a large, full-service supermarket -- in the South Bronx that I occasionally go to. The company I work for has several properties in that area, so it's not unusual for me to be in the area. The prices at WB are much better than the prices in Manhattan where I live.

So: You'd think that a supermarket in a low-income, high-crime area like the South Bronx would be boarded up and fortified like Fort Knox, right? But it's not. It's like any supermarket in an affluent suburban area. Nothing is locked up. There's one fat security guard who looks like he's high on weed. I doubt he would scare off any thieves. So how come this place isn't constantly looted?

102 I think the stores need to do a little more to force the local prosecuting attorney to prosecute. One simple way to handle it is to guarantee that any shoplifted item is a felony. IOW, list every item in the store above the felony threshold. Then, have the cashier apply a one time purchase membership to each customer that is null and void after their purchase until they visit again and the cashier sets up another membership. No ID needed, no documentation. It's like the grocery cashier using the store card as a courtesy if you don't have one.

That way, law enforcement has to explain why they ignore felonies...and the prosecuting attorney has to explain why they aren't doing their job. The Mayor has to explain why their jurisdiction has the highest active felony count in the entire country.

I just got back...let my 2nd oldest daughter see prices and see how sales work - whether stores actually stocked the item for the week (you could tell my Safeway never even had the $1.99 large Egglands eggs or the $1 steamable potatoes), whether they restocked it when it sold out (that was a no for a few more of the $1/$2 produce items, like the tomatoes I needed), and what didn't sell (like plenty of radishes for $1/lb...and yes, we bought some b/c it's fresh produce that looked good and was cheap - so I'll make it work)...

I've been saying this for years - it's nice to see other people use the same language. And look, both sides do it to a degree. That's the Left / Right conflict of dogma, in many ways.

It's not that I'm Pro-Religion. I'm not religious in the slightest. But I recognize that I'm rare - odd, even. Most people that you would call normal NEED religion. They need some sort of guide, to not devolve into animals. And Christianity worked pretty good for that, even through all its flaws being that it was continued by man.

But that faith - that idea that this world is simply an audition for the next one ? That always made me wary of the truly faithful. Because that kind of mindset can go off the rails pretty quickly. Hence, today's Liberalism. It's not even Liberal anymore.

My first business travel, the tickets were bought by the CEOs admin. She put me in the smoking section. I did not know till I got to the airport and I could not change. I still hate that woman for that.

She had smoker coworkers I was traveling with in non-smoking. (Most smokers also hated the smoking section and would only go there to smoke.)

Because I think, in a way that only he could sell and never admit, he wanted rural folks to come back to the cities to be a stabilizing influence.

Yeah, its a stupid way of saying you are less productive working remote, which is pretty much the case. There are some jobs that lend themselves to remote work, but most don't. You can add hybrid arrangements, but everyone needs to be in the office on the same days to take advantage of people being able to talk to one another.

But in the country overall? Nope. There are no metrics anywhere supporting that remote employees on a macro level are more productive. Except those on self reported productivity. Which are worthless.

The advice your parents and grandparents gave you as a kid was very good advice: "stand up straight!" Far too many people slouch or crouch over. It's not attractive to ladies, and makes a guy look shorter and squatter than he is.

The bad news: bad posture is kind of "addicting" in the sense that once you start doing it, it becomes harder to stop. The good news? Once you break out of it -- and it does take some effort -- standing up straight becomes natural and you no longer have to think about it.

There have always been crappy neighborhoods with crime and immoral behavior. Just in the earlier times they were filled with Irish, or Italians, or other minorities. White flight was from the city government itself which was deciding to not serve anyone.
