This is correct. The last day to change party affiliation for the NH primary came and went on 10/6/23. The archaeological evidence was thousands of cuneiform tablets littering the ruins of Hattusa. IIRC, Hattusa was rediscovered in the mid 1800s and serious excavations began in the early 1900s.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Iran launched attacks Tuesday in Pakistan targeting what it described as bases for the militant group Jaish al-Adl, potentially further raising tensions in a Middle East already roiled by Israel's war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Pakistan said the strikes killed two children and wounded three others in an assault it described as an “unprovoked violation” of its airspace.
Confusion followed the announcement from Iran as state media reports on it soon disappeared. However, the attack inside of nuclear-armed Pakistan by Iran threatens the relations between the two countries, which long have eyed each other with suspicion while maintaining diplomatic relations.
The attack also follows Iranian strikes on Iraq and Syria [see next: versus U.S. and Israel] less than a day earlier, as Tehran lashes out following a dual suicide bombing this month claimed by the Sunni militant group Islamic State that killed over 90 people.

There's an eminent domain case where the government only restricted the use of the land and because it didn't substantively change the existing use of the land the landowner couldn't develop his land or exercise a takings clause remedy.

It is, essentially, waving some guaranteed (and consistent) income in front of the owners of hotels/ motels and depending on them to agree. I'm sure they get pressured in various ways to cooperate, BUT they cannot be forced to comply. It's a simple as saying no.

Hell, there are counties - I live in one - that go out of their way to invite the "unhoused" from Philly AND immigrant resettlement programs of all kinds. Our kids, excluding the elite, grow dumber by the day but do learn about equity*. (Most don't have it & it ain't coming their direction the way things are going.) We also rank stellar on illegal drug use but can almost float in Narcan.
