This is a slow moving event. There was an eruption last month, and the ground subsided to previous levels. However, the ground resumed rising, and the magma shifted and found new locations to break through, along the old fissure/dike. Pretty interesting that it blew off at about the same ground elevation as before, as measured by the seismograph that is believed to be above the main lava chamber.

I took my USB mouse apart, found a big blob of fluff clogging the optical encoder for the scroll wheel, and cleaned it all out, flushed it with spray electronic cleaner, plugged it in...and it was completely dead. The red LED wasn't even lighting up. So I am using a wireless mouse for now. Next trip to Wally World or Goodwill, I will snag another corded mouse.

The only reason I would think McCain might’ve been better is not over politics, or having some correct compass to guide him. But McCain was more cutthroat. He would side with his own team if he thought it would gain him advantage. Politically I don’t respect McCain, but I do think he would’ve stood with his side if they stood with him. That's what I figure, also. The other day I saw a report that talked about the number of voters who recently changed their registration from D to R or R to D, and it talked up the fact that more people are switching from D to R than the other way.
The only reason I can think of to bother switching registration is to be able to vote in the other party's primary. I wonder if significant numbers of D voters are switching to R so they can screw with the R nomination process?

Folks can argue about Covid, but to hold Trump responsible for J6 and criticizing him for not pardoning people is ridiculous. He was president for exactly two weeks after J6-- 14 days. I agree with you on this. I've laid my marker down as an OnlyTrumper a long time ago, but I still like Vivek and Heavy D. I thought from the beginning that DeSantis should have sat this one out until '28, or at the very least occupied the lane that Vivek ended up taking.
