Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Three Years After The Fact, And NOW Bill Barr Speaks Up?And not even in a forceful manner. It is his usual lawyerly, smarmy, Deep-State-C*cksucking manner that is designed to keep him in the good graces of the people whose entire political philosophy is antithetical to what Barr claims to be...a conservative. His comments, which come about two years and eleven months too late, are a mealy-mouthed attempt to remain in the good graces of the uninformed on the right, who are distinctly uncomfortable with the insanity of the prosecutions (persecutions?) of the protestors, but don't really have the facts. So here is Bill Barr to make them feel better about the whole thing. Biden DOJ Went Too Far With Prosecuting Jan. 6 Suspects: Bill BarrFormer Attorney General Bill Barr said on Saturday—the third anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incident—that the Justice Department under President Joe Biden went too far when it comes to prosecuting individuals involved in the events of that fateful day and targeted people who merely “walked into open doors and hung around.” Mr. Barr made the remarks in an interview on Fox News, where he said he has no intention of downplaying the seriousness of the events of Jan. 6, 2021, which he called a “shameful episode” for which some people should face prosecution. “I don’t think it was an insurrection,” Mr. Barr said, rejecting a label that has been pushed in particular by opponents of former President Donald Trump, who faces over a dozen lawsuits seeking to bar him from the 2024 presidential ballot under the claim that he engaged in an “insurrection.” A bit of overreach! Nothing to see...move along! Barr is the establishment Republican that everyone on the left just loves! He will never buck the Deep StateTM, and he will never criticize the process. You know, the process that has sold America's legal system to the highest bidder. Notice that he has no legal remedies in mind...no desire for a political solution to a profound miscarriage of justice...no honorable fight against this existential insult to our Constitution and the principles upon which our country was founded? Yeah...he wants to be on record that he has reservations about it, but he certainly doesn't want to do anything about it! And remember, this is the same Bill Barr who found no evidence of voter fraud in the election of 2020. I wonder where he stands on that now? Actually...I don't. I know exactly where he stands, and that is on the side with the most money and influence in Washington. He is an acolyte of the process, that disgusting refuge into which all power-hungry government apparatchiks scurry to defend their destruction of the rule of law and the United States Constitution. In his squalid little mind, 18 U.S. Code § 1512 is more important than the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. He has no honor, and his only loyalty is to power. He is the tyrant that Jefferson warned us about. And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

MAGA gear and guided people around after they were let in. Your average person could never find Pelosi’s office on their own. However, this campaign seems to be meeting with widespread contempt and derision. I hope they stick with it through the election. However, this campaign seems to be meeting with widespread contempt and derision. I hope they stick with it through the election. Adding to comments above about the SecDef is sick fiasco:
This is both a typical Junta Clown Show and a huge un-forced error. Not knowing where the SecDef is nor what condition he is in, and not knowing whether he officially designated his Deputy as Acting SecDef could lead to disaster for this nation. By law the SecDef issues orders from the President, and on his own call, directly to all of the military Unified Commands. Central Command, Strategic Command, Indo-Pacific Command, etc. In other words, all US combat forces. Contrary to the belief of a lot of people, The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs IS NOT in the legal US military chain of command. The President not knowing who at DoD to send new combat orders to, and the Commanders of the Unified Commands not officially knowing who they can legally accept new combat orders from, is the biggest US military problem there is. Sure, everything would get sorted out, perhaps very rapidly. But even a few minutes of confusion at the top of the command chain could be disastrous. Trumps first act is a demand that everyone in the FBI produce a sworn affidavit - under penalty of perjury - that they were not on the grounds of the Capitol on January 6th. To refuse to produce such affidavit will be considered insubordination and the agent will be terminated. If they all quit in protest? You're asking someone who has no fvck to give. OT: I meant to get this in the book thread, but I had to set up Vanessa's birthday party, and had to bail.
The three formative books I read in my early life were Gulag Archipelago, Screwtape Letters and Epictetus' Discourses. I also credit Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and Courage Under Fire by Adm. Stockdale, for introducing Solzhenitsyn and Epictetus to me. But those first three were the ones where I read them, and could never see people the same way again after I finished them. They're books that will implode your worldview. The fourth thing wasn't a book, but an experience, and it's even sort of germane at the moment. Traveling to Gaza and the Jabalya camp as a kid did a similar thing to my brain. Formative stuff. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at January 07, 2024 01:31 PM (0FoWg) 195

Like the CIA director. Or the director of the NSA. Unlike this midwit at the FBI who's name is in the news every day.
Posted by: Martini Farmer at January 07, 2024 01:43 PM (Q4IgG) I believe the CIA director was elevated to the Cabinet recently. Not sure exactly what that means. Is he in on it, or has he been elevated to be a figurehead? Just like Fauci wasn't in charge of anything, he's just a toady giving cover. Then there's Mayorga, who has to go out there and do his best Kevin Bacon impersonation ("remain calm, all is well"). I don't imagine that's a fun position to be in. And then there's Garland. And so on and so forth. Posted by: BurtTC at January 07, 2024 01:49 PM (QBaJw) 242
And it's just a matter of personal honor. Trump hooked Pence up, and always talked him up. He should've backed up his boss when people were talking shit, like a man would. My boss has been good to me, like Pence's was to him. When people talk any shit about her, I do one of two things. 1.) If they're right: this is rare, but I gin up a tall tale about how whatever problem they're mad about is probably actually my fault. 2.) If they're wrong, which is usually the case, I send them a tersely worded note that's very long on documentation about why they're wrong. So I have the paper trail in case they decide to keep running that dirty mouth. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at January 07, 2024 01:49 PM (0FoWg) 243
Politicians are good at changing their position on most anything at the drop of a hat.
Or questionable polling. They are, by and large, egotistical shits that thrive on adulation from the masses. If things they support begin to sour they will find some way to triangulate support for something else. As long as they aren't held responsible and are blameless. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is never a surprise when you see this quoted in a movie. It is almost always by a tobacco chewing, uneducated, wife-beater wearing redneck. Classic Hollywood characterization. That's usually when I hit the channel changer. Posted by: Diogenes at January 07, 2024 01:55 PM (W/lyH) 249
Barr is the worst sort, to my mind; a man well entrenched enough to do some actual good against Deep State, should he choose, but instead too much prizes cocktail party invitations and last minute tables at popular restaurants. "No big deal, sacrificing republican government", he seems to say, "so long as Podesta and I can still be friends."

As long as they aren't held responsible and are blameless. Posted by: Martini Farmer at January 07, 2024 01:51 PM (Q4IgG) Bingo. I have little doubt that the regime controls the loyal opposition by using some amount of bribery, blackmail, violent intimidation, and occasional murder. That's all been repeatedly demonstrated. But most of it isn't nearly so directly coercive. It's the product of a long march through institutions, where Democrats came through with an undefeated record. If you get to DC, you never want to leave the goodie room, and you'll do as commanded by the people who can toss you out on your ear with barely an effort. I was listening to a PBD pod cast with Trump's lawyer Alina Habba. She said that during his first term he listened to the advice of others that were involved in Deep State. She basically said he learned his lesson from that and that things would be different in his 2nd term.
Basically, Fool Me Once, Shame on You, Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me. Barr can go pound sand, just another Deep State asshole who should never be in any position of power. Posted by: Scuba Dude at January 07, 2024 02:02 PM (f0/sc) 258

The whole point behind the egregious 3-year ongoing persecution of anyone present in DC on January 6th is to reinforce the Democrat influence operation supporting the 2024 election. Succinctly, if you believe that the 2020 election was fraudulent and stolen and given what we’ve done to those who protested, just imagine how bad it will be for you when the 2024 election fraud is even more in your face rampant and you dare to register a complaint. The past three years have been conditioning the US populace to understand that very bad things will happen to them if they protest future election theft.
