ONT Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Hello everyone. You know, THIS is what they should have done to everybody on Epstein's list:

flee.png

I'd forego vengeance if we could just get all those assholes gone forever.

Not going to be much of an ONT tonight. I've been flat on my back with the flu for the last three days. I was OK if I was lying down, but when I sat up I sounded like the Ypres salient, April 1915. Seriously, I didn't know you could cough this hard. I have a whole lot more sympathy for WWI gas victims, I'm miserable and this isn't a patch on what they suffered, it must have been an excruciating way to die. I got back to work a bit today, but no work earlier in the week means I was not accruing content for the ONT. Well, onward we go.

Here's A Guy A Lot Tougher Than Little Ole Me And My Flu

Tyson Steele – 23 days in sub-zero temperatures

Tyson Steele has always loved the outdoors and decided he wanted to spend more time in the wild, so at the age of 30 he purchased a small cabin in the Susitna Valley, a very remote and hard to reach valley north-west of Anchorage, miles away from the nearest settlement. He moved in during September 2019 and lived there with his dog, a chocolate coloured Labrador called Phil.

The cabin was remote and essentially cut off during the winter, but Tyson was used to the weather and knew he had to be sensible if he was going to make this work, taking the time to properly stock the cabin with plenty of food and supplies.

Due to the relaxed nature of his life in the wilderness, he’s not quite sure exactly when the incident occurred, but he thinks it was either on the 17 or 18 of December. Just before he went to sleep, he decided to put a large piece of cardboard in the stove, which turned out to be a very bad idea. The smouldering ash from the cardboard quickly went up the chimney and landed on the roof of his hut, but Tyson didn’t realize this until he woke up to molten plastic dripping all over the room.

He ran outside in nothing but his boots and long johns to find the entire roof of his hut was ablaze. He went back inside and quickly grabbed some clothes and his rifle before heading back out to shovel snow onto his hut. The roof was already beyond saving before he even woke up, but he still spent a couple of hours frantically shovelling snow on to it.

His poor dog died in the fire, yet he somehow managed to survive until rescue parties came looking for him, 23 days later. Tough dude.

Sparing The Rod

Permissive Parenting: This Won't End Well

Every day that I am in the office, I now encounter parents who believe in “gentle parenting,” or its close relatives, mindful parenting or intentional parenting. The gentle parent lets the child decide. The gentle parent never uses punishments of any kind, not even time-outs. The gentle parent does not toilet train the child, but instead “models” toileting for the toddler, which will (it is hoped) inspire the toddler to want to use the toilet instead of the diaper. One mother was playing with her son, then gently let him know that she needed to take a break from playing with him in order to do some housework. Her son exploded in anger, hitting and kicking his mom. That mom reached out to Robin Einzig, a leading guru of gentle parenting, to ask what she should do in that situation. Einzig responded without hesitation, “He’s telling you very clearly that right now he needs your presence.” In other words, forget the housecleaning; you have to play with the boy until he decides to stop. Jessica Winter, writing for The New Yorker, observes that gentle parenting requires the parent to transform himself/herself into a “a self-renouncing, perpetually present humanoid who has nothing but time and who is programmed for nothing but calm.” Winter predicts that the next generation can “anticipate blaming their high rates of depression and anxiety on the over validation and under correction native to gentle parenting.”

As a family doctor, I simply did not encounter this kind of parenting 10 years ago. Now I see it every day. And the parents who are practicing gentle parenting are (in my experience) almost always politically left-of-center.

There's a lot of terrifying stuff in the article, but in case that's not enough, I'm going to throw out this graphic:

Single parent homes.png

None of this is indicative of a society that is in any way, shape, or form, healthy.

Question For The Peanut Gallery

Just before I got sick, I upgraded my computer hardware. The old one worked, but it was prolly 6-7 years old and the CPU was always running at 100%. I got a new mobo, i-9 CPU to replace the old i-5, and 32 GB DDR5 RAM. Put it all back together and hey, it works. My problem is that Windows (Win 10 pro) is now telling me I have to activate it. So I go setting > activate > “I made changes to my hardware”, it asks for my Microsoft ID and PW, but it won't accept it. Tells me I need to update. Win updates won't download the update (because it's not activated??), and the update isn't available to be downloaded outside of windows updater (I think the update has to do with having a 16 core CPU rather than the old 4 core one, but I'm not sure). I even tried just entering the valid product key (I still have it) but it won't accept that either. It seems to be a nice little vicious circle, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna buy a new key when I have a perfectly valid one already. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?

German judge lets 8 men who gang-raped girl walk free

A German court delivered its verdict Tuesday concerning those responsible for the barbaric September 2020 gang-rape of a 15-year-old German girl in the northern city of Hamburg.

Of the eleven men initially charged in relation to the gang-rape of the minor — only four of whom were technically German — two were acquitted. Nine were found guilty. Eight got probation, not exceeding two years. Only one is headed to prison.

There has been significant backlash following the release of eight convicted rapists, prompting officials to condemn critiques of the judgment, particularly those of an "anti-migrant" nature.

*** Details of the crime, it's horriffic ***

Among the so-called expert witnesses was psychiatrist Nahlah Saimeh. Saimeh intimated that the gang rape may have been a means to let off some of the "frustration" that supposedly comes with "migration experiences and socio-cultural homelnessness."

****
While presiding Judge Anne Meier-Goering acknowledged that "none of the defendants uttered a word of regret" during the trial, she nevertheless sentenced eight of the rapists to probation, of no more than two years.

I have, shall we say, a modest proposal. Yes, a very modest proposal indeed. I propose that when any of these “migrants” starts to feel “frustration” with their “ migration experiences” that they be transported forthwith to the home of Judge Anne Meier-Goering where the good judge be made available to them to help alleviate their "mix of emotions of anger, sadness, powerlessness, depression, (and) fantasies of grandeur”.

Marbury Who?

Israel's high court kills democracy

In case you've heard leftists online talking about how Netanyahu is “attacking democracy” with his attempts at judicial reform, this article outlines the true nature of what is going on.

The Republican Party emerged to combat the expansion of slavery into American territories after the passing of the Kansas–Nebraska Act. A number of years ago, I was listening to NPR (not my fault - I was driving with my boss somewhere), and NPR noted that Mexico, which had had almost no births out of wedlock, was starting to have a noticeable number of kids born to single mothers.

This was presented as an unmitigated good - it showed that women in Mexico were becoming stronger, more independent, and that this was a great victory for feminism.

Man, I almost feel sorry for that mountain lion. I did not know mules were that vicious when they sense a threat. (I was brought up in the comfortable suburbs of Camden, NJ where the most threatening wildlife was squirrels and chipmonks.)

KKK TYPE is an important distinction, because even in rural MO in the late '60s & early '70s, there was no Klan activity per se. I think I would've known.

172 So this little terror was running through his great-grandma's apartment and repeatedly slamming himself full speed into the glass patio door. Gentle parent mom did nothing about it. Mean auntie looked monster child calmly in the eye and said, "It's not safe for you to slam into the glass patio door and I'm not going to allow you to do it any more."

He stopped slamming himself into the door. I did not raise my voice or demean him. I just told him how it was going to be, and that's all it took.

"Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin was inspired to write the source play, A Few Good Men, from a phone conversation with his sister Deborah. I'm going down a rabbit hole on this transferring Windows 10 license thing. If you have a Microsoft account, this link here will show you all the devices you have a activated license for:
http://tinyurl.com/yszjbty7

I do not use the MS accounts for Windows, I use old WinXP and before local accounts. However, you to have a MS account for the basic things, just don't use them as an actual machine account.

I'm not clear on whether you have to be signed on with MS account on the device in order to successfully transfer the license when major hardware changes are made.

This is clear as mud reading all this MS shit.

Remove the top, take out the guts. Some have removable backs; this one didn't. Removed the self-leveling feet; have heavy-duty casters to weld on in their stead. Cut a two foot square hole in front panel. In process of welding 1" square steel tubing around inside perimeter of hole for general stiffness. Next: weld cleats on inside walls to support sturdy shelf of 3/4" plywood or OSB. Install solid top of 3/4" OSB. This will support three machines: a small bandsaw, a small drill press, and an 8" bench grinder. I plan to use the old washing machine motor to run the bandsaw, putting the motor on the shelf, and running the belt up through a slot on the table.

And Bilyeu takes that and says hey that seems like a reasonable point let's see if we can construct an argument that people will listen to.

And his argument to run with is Hey first we aren't judging you, but you know if you are raising kids as a single parent or a gay couple there are some risks that you have to watch out for that say a traditional couple don't and if you want your kids to have a good upbringing here is some things you need to work on.

And I'm listening to this and laughing inside. I know exactly what your average Tumberlina or AWFL would do with that argument. Well...it would be funny for Trump to talk about LBJ's shenanigans in the 1960 election. Its been an open secret for quite a while that he was fixing the election, and yes there is an argument as to whether JFK would have won without it...but getting the FNM to go to bat for LBJ's electoral honesty would be hilarious.

267 Curious where you relocated to? And why? I think about doing same from time to time but wife's whole family is So.Cal.

Northern Arkansas, although I spend a lot of time in NC. I would've preferred NC or somewhere else in Appalachia, but my mama retired here, to be near other family.

Left California when my husband retired at 56 from his job at Kaiser Permanente, mainly because despite great jobs, retirement was going to be too expensive to stay, but also because I'm a country girl and had had enough city life. Mama also needed help. One miracle after another brought us a house on12 acres right next door to her. More miracles have brought more property.

Truth be told, once she's gone, Id like to move again. I love it here, it's beautiful, we're very blessed.... but it's never felt like home and I'm not sure why. I'd like more winter and less humidity. Idaho or Wyoming call me, as does Monrana.

Thor left his entire family. I left a lot of close family, but of course my mom and other family are here. We stay in touch with everyone in Cali just fine. I wouldn't let that stop you.

President Lyndon B. Johnson proposed a utopian new vision for the United States under a vastly expanded federal government, which he dubbed the Great Society, on this day in history, Jan. 4, 1965.

"We seek to establish a harmony between man and society, which will allow each of us to enlarge the meaning of his life and all of us to elevate the quality of our civilization. This is the search that we begin tonight," the president declared to the nation in his State of the Union address.

It was the first televised State of the Union, delivered in primetime directly to the American people, not just to both chambers of Congress as the Constitution requires.

We're probably 3 degrees of separation from knowing one another. I retired from the defense arm of Boeing, did export compliance for many years, and saw a lot of staff come and go to/from Raytheon. And lost a little of staff to Soace X when Elon came to town.

Best of luck to you! Be aware that while housing is still cheap in many parts of the country, overall cost of living has risen tremendously, even in the rural areas. Used to be much cheaper living here compared to SoCal, but that gap is closing rapidly.

313 303 I just finished watching Apollo 13 I am amazed at the lack of diversity amongst the engineers. This movie must be cancelled.

DDS: I watch Apollo 13 whenever it's on. I remember it in real time - I was about 12 or so. Personally, in terms of technical challenge, what the Apollo 13 folks pulled off was nothing short of a miracle, and far surpasses the actual moon landings. It's easy when everything goes to plan. It when events go south that you really find out how good your systems are. Or not!

316 The Great Society, beneath all the trappings, was the purchase, through subsidy, of a segment of society. The ultimate goal was the creation of a monolithic voting bloc.

Worked admirably in only a few generations and one of the benefits was the destruction of black families. Absolutely no consideration was given ANY of the downsides.

So now, decades later you see the end results coming to fruition.

319 weirddave.

The KEY to eliminating the "cost plus" contract.

Is to "freeze" a design at a certain point, and then order it into production.

Later marques, such as the P-51 D, can be cost-upgraded as needed, but the "A" models need to have rolled off the assembly line at the price as contracted.

Same for Arleigh Burke destroyers.

"freeze" each generation, produce the number of contracted ships, and the next generation can be priced, accordingly.

Parallel. 1st Gulf War. REGARDLESS of which Defense Contractor's Smart Bomb or Missile went through that Iraqi window or vent, slightly over 80% of all THOSE laser designators were built and benched by Litton Laser Systems, and that's a fact.

By time of the 2nd Gulf War and later, those various Defense Contractors had found other laser contractors, or developed such shops of their own.

And Litton, is now a General Dynamics fiefdom.

As well you deserve.

A tale. In the '90s, my boss (direct report) was the President of the Nation's 3rd largest Rental Uniform company. NYSE, Fortune 1000.

I was with him for a lunch and tour of a major New England Defense Contrator, with a heavy electronics emissions shop, little to my knowledge, of course, heavily into the early "stealth" research.

On that tour, THEIR preident walked us through the prototype fab shop. He paused by what looked like a Southwest American "sun god" disk, with the sawtoothed circumference, and asked: "y'know what this is?"

And I replied: "...an edge diffraction filter". You should've seen the blood drain out of his face, as he declared "our tour is over!".

Took me some explaining to his staff, that I had grown up around Forbidden Tech, and that same damn filter had been mentioned in Aviaton Week, and a Tom Clancy novel. lol.

No, it was "Blue Morning, Blue Day" in '79.

However, there was a synth-pop song (I've never heard) from '83 that was a top-10 hit in a number of countries called "Blue Monday" by New Order (whom I've never heard of) -- so that's another possibility.

And those "systems" wrought hell in Iraq, a scant few years later.

Other systems included LANTRN, Kiowa MMS "ball" system, and others which I shall not here mention.

Suffice to say, I had to get one HELL of a "clearance" renewal to even have taken those "tours". Enjoyed 'em I did, too.

Yeah, I have no doubt he worked 'behind' the scenes. It's just that there was no public 'Skip Gates is my friend; the police acted stupidly' public comment. Since DEI is under attack for its racist underpinnings, being too public about supporting it might not be a good idea, especially for Democrats trying to figure out what to do with Dementia Joe and Kamalalaladingdong before the November election.

I think Dr. Dr. Jill would shiv her first.

IMAO, Dr Dr. Jill is a vicious scrunt. I read awhile back that SHE is the one who wanted to be in the White House, that she enjoys that power. I cannot stand that woman, well, actually a lot of Democrat women/wives. But Dr. Dr. Jill's using a dementia-addled Biden to be the White House Princess she thinks she is.

407 WD, glad you dodged a bullet on the Win10 activation issue. Last time that happened to me, I got it resolved by calling MS, but that was back in the XP days, I think.

However, you should start looking at alternatives for the future, especially if your new activation precludes "upgrading" (cough, cough) to Win11. Support for 10 ends in 2025, unless you buy a subscription.

None of my Win10 machines (2 hardware, one Virtualbox) are upgradable. No worries, as the VB is hosted by Linux and I have Linux/Win10 dual boots for the hardware.

Comments above about the difficulty of installing/running Linux are, IMHO, vastly overblown. These days, with a modern Linux distribution, installation is a breeze (much faster than Win), hardware support is fine if not bleeding edge, and the amount of free and capable software is just outstanding. Several free Office suites are 99.99% MS Office compatible. I have an account that lets me use Office 365, which I run locally in my Win10 machines, but it can also be run on the cloud in a browser.

Spongebrain is there, because he's a stupid puppet. He was installed by Ayers, his buddies, and their extensive netw*rk. (just like sh!t midas). Dr Dr promised to keep her yap shut about all the 'handlers' so that she can enjoy being 1st b!tch for as long as possible.

415 One more thing about Linux. The OS is more modular than Win and updates tend to be a little at a time, with most not needing a reboot. The computer will be much more responsive than under Win. Will boot much faster too. For safety sake I also have a USB SSD with Linux on it that I can boot into and use to fix any problems (even Win problems).

The big decision is what sort of distro. There are lots of choices, but the main one is what type of software packaging to use. The 3 big choices are deb (Debian), rpm (Fedora) or Arch. The widest software availability is via Debian (also used by Ubuntu and Mint). I run Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop, but for a more Win "feel" the Cinnamon desktop is a very good choice (default for Mint).

425 The thing that I'm reading about Epstein is that he was involved in a lot of things. Not only the obvious kiddy diddling but investments in technology. Quite a few people have met him over the years to discuss his investing in their ideas. Bret Weinstein (an evolutionary biologist) has a story about meeting Epstein over some work he was doing and Epstein was ery ip on his work.

So there may be quite a few names of people that had meetings with Epstein that didn't go anywhere, like with Weinstein.

433 Feel better: Computer Problem.. Windows has been tying the OS to the original manufacturer for some time ie a Dell computer with 10 will have a different type of key than a "store bought" version of 10 1) wipe the total hard drive "fdisk or clean install" from safe mode (http://tinyurl.com/3tbj33pv) try that and re-install. 2)You can then call
Microsoft support customer service +1 805 902 7676 and give them a sad story you original mother board failed was replaced and now your key won't work....if you original key was valid they will generate a new key for you.....if more questions..davogeek111(that weirdA )protonmail.com

441 This is going to require calling into the Microsoft to talk to an actual person who will have to "transfer" the license - if they will.

In my experience changing the motherboard is the "computer part" which is triggering the refusal for the database to transfer the license and may trigger a "no" from the human being.

If you want a quicker and not so laborious intense process, go onto ebay and look for Windows 10 digital licenses - I typically seek vendors from the UK.

In the UK and Euro Zone any dismantled computer's digital license can be resold. For example, today at the top of the search engine a digital activation key is $49.99. Purchase the key - they will send the activation key via email, enter the code where it asks for the activation key and, in my experience you should now have a windows 10 activated with a digital key.

People will say this is shady, but I have used this many times to activate Windows 10 which for whatever reason have fallen out of favor. Also this is ebay, they're guarantee is solid.
