The black racists are out in force. Fire-alarm puller and liar Jamaal Bowman: It's racist to enforce the academic honor code against a university president. If she's black. (Of course.) Rep. Jamaal Bowman Ed.D. Olivia RondeauNicole Hannah-Jones, who infamously dabbled in her own academic fraud in publishing the discredited, conspiratorial "1619 Project" -- which twisted history in order to make the specious agitprop claim that the United States rebelled against England only to ensure that it could continue enslaving blacks -- also thinks another Fake Black Academic should be excused for academic fraud. Well, they got what they wanted from their well-executed plan. https://t.co/SsdhSYYnEk -- Ida Bae Wells (@nhannahjones) January 2, 2024More dark conspiracy theories from the dark conspiracy theorist. Jeremy Wayne Tate There are two things going on here. Obviously, the black racists are just, as usual, demanding that blacks cannot be held to the standards of The White Man's Racist Rules of Academic Honesty. The other thing is: None of these people are academics. They are political firebrands who burrowed into a formerly academic institution and corrupted it into becoming merely a leftwing propaganda mill. What Hannah-Jones and Jamaal Bowman and Claudine Gay are really saying is, "We changed your institutions and they have New Rules. And it's fine to counterfeit history or steal language to advance your DEI-based career. Because none of this White Man's Academic Research matters anyway. All that matters is The Message and The Struggle, and we are delivering that, the only thing that matters in today's universities." I just wish they wouldn't be so coy about saying it. Just come out and say, "We are not academics, we are Marxist Racist Polemicists, and the rules are different for mere propagandists than for academics who are supposedly searching for truth." But they won't admit that, of course. Because the whole point of burrowing into formerly respectable and formerly academic institutions is to wear those skin-suits so that Marxist racist propaganda is costumed in the black robes of academia. Sounds like DU are racist misogynist, based on their comments.
Will this be the end of trying to bring diversity to the Presidency of Harvard? SOME may use this as an excuse. How about no praising Hamas as president of the University?[i[ Had she not, she’d still be there. The fact that she was ever tapped to be President of Harvard is shocking. She does not have the academic record to be promoted to full professor in a lot of US institutions. The plagiarism is egregious. I mean, who plagiarizes the acknowledgments in their dissertation? So did Stefanik get to have her 2nd dog and pony show? Sounds more like she got a second scalp from her bs hearing. I’m disappointed that woman resigned. She was a fraud that brought shame to a great university. And failed to take responsibility for her actions. Definitely not leadership material, especially of one of our finest institutions. I would love to be a student in her class and ask her if I should abide by the Harvard policies on plagiarism or simply follow her example. the whole academic process skews everything hard to the left. in some of the first classes a student takes, they introduce the concept of confirmation bias and say that you need to go where the evidence leads you. However, they make sure that path is one way, and that way is to the left. They also insist that only academic sources are legit sources of data to use. This is all just leftist material which, as we have seen from the climate change bs, it's all doctored. Facts are on our side, but they have created a process in the higher education system to ignore actual facts and data and call their bs legit.

Honestly, Gay's plagiarism didn't harm "the conversation" all that much. She added some bullshit to a bullshit branch of study. I'm feeling all sorts of schadenfreude over it, don't get me wrong. They just made up nonsense and got it institutionalized, with "scholars" producing "scholarship" about each other's nonsense, and it eventually became mandatory.
Read "Autobiography of Malcolm X" (actually written by Alex Haley, who made up the whole Kunta Kinte thing for "Roots") about how he left the Nation of Islam when he went on Hajj and discovered that actual Islam was noting like what Elijah Muhammad was preaching, which was largely just made up by Wallace D. Another thing that I think is going on is that plagiarism is so rampant at these supposedly "elite" universities that everyone just wants to sweep it under the rug. Gay is just the tip of the iceberg.
I think most of these "academics" -- and 100% of those in the softbrain disciplines like DEI -- are lazy, dimwitted mediocrities who never had an original thought or idea, and never actually produced anything of scholarship or value whatsoever. The scalping comments are interesting...I thought I had read it was introduced, possibly by the French, as a means to confirm bounties paid to natives for killing enemy tribes.
Per a quick wiki search, however, that doesn't appear to be the case: There is substantial archaeological evidence of scalping in North America in the pre-Columbian era. Carbon dating of skulls show evidence of scalping as early as 600 AD...Among Plains Indians, it seems to have been practiced primarily as part of intertribal warfare, with scalps only taken of enemies killed in battle. However, author and historian Mark van de Logt wrote, "Although military historians tend to reserve the concept of 'total war'", in which civilians are targeted, "for conflicts between modern industrial nations," the term "closely approaches the state of affairs between the Pawnees, the Sioux, and the Cheyennes. Noncombatants were legitimate targets. Indeed, the taking of a scalp of a woman or child was considered honorable because it signified that the scalp taker had dared to enter the very heart of the enemy's territory." Depends on the subject. STEM types tend to be very defensive about their work, and someone copying them would likely be quickly revealed and expelled. Posted by: Archimedes at January 03, 2024 01:33 PM (CsUN+) No, its actually easy. Back in the early 90s there was a case where a paper came for peer review to a competitor and he showed it to his PhD student. He then rejected the paper and the student copied her work and published it as his. The woman whose work brought it up for years and when finally it was challenged the Student couldn't show any raw data and the whole thing blew up. The woman had left the field long before and much of it was hushed up. There was another case where a minor professor published 50+ papers by copying one from a major journal and submitting it to a minor journal with little or no change. Again it took almost random chance for the hoax to be discovered. Posted by: Oldcat at January 03, 2024 01:44 PM (eoQWY) 188

My plagiarism story.
I took an English II writing course in college. It was under a first year professor. It started off okay but the professor apparently didn't appreciate my lack of attentiveness and focus on the girl next to me. After receiving 90+ grades on my first few papers , I unexpectedly started to receive a lot lower going forward. On the next paper which was a non-fiction technical assignment, I decided to plagiarize the entire paper just as a test. ( yes stupid) . I found a book on the subject in the library, copied complimentary sections and turned it in. I got the same low grade as previous. I was personally satisfied that it wasn't my writing and just took my lumps until the semester was over. Posted by: Titanium White at January 03, 2024 01:47 PM (lCVt6) 203

After reports that some service members participated in the Jan. 6 riot, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered an independent study to get “greater fidelity” on extremism in the ranks. Posted by: Caesar North ---------- That get complicated when you are dealing with written or musical works. You should take a look the case of John Fogerty being sued by CCR rights holder Saul Zaentz for ripping off a CCR song that John wrote (Run through the Jungle) in his later Old Man Down the Road. Things are rarely cut and dried in law because you cited a direct one for one copy but many derivative works from materials have been copyrighted and successfully defended. Harvard might be a little different, being a $50 billion hedge fund and all, but it still strikes me that academics are one of the least important aspects of the job, as Ackman points out. "Good luck Penny. Barky's pleas were ignored for Gay."
So you seriously think Obama didn't have anything to do with her decision to resign? That's cute. Posted by: Haley's Buttery Biscuit at January 03, 2024 02:38 PM (T9Rl0) Yup, Barky gets the benefits of clemency and resisting the right wing, Harvard takes any blame for removing her. Why would anyone assume that a political science professor with no executive experience would have any idea how to run a college?

Well sometimes, to be fair, the group kept playing after the first Top Hits album so there might be group content. My favorite was the greatest hits album after, like 2 albums.

The really weird thing was that Gay plagiarized another person's acknowledgements. That tells me that she has no feelings of connection with other people, she couldn't even fake a "greetings fellow humans" in that document. I suspect a monster lurks behind those ugly glasses.
I mean, how difficult would it have been for Gay to write something like, "Good times with Prof. X when we read Mao's Little Red Book in the faculty lounge while smoking weed and dreaming of killing YT"? Posted by: Retired Buckeye Cop is now an engineer at January 03, 2024 03:22 PM (pJWtt) 496
