No Roughhousing Cafe

chamonix.jpg
Chamonix, France
by @maud_bsc

A cat always lands on its feet, and a cat always lays on its belly. It is known.

Dog decides to take it easy today.

Panda doing panda-type things.

Cat wants attention. She should just change her pronouns.

It's almost Friday. Almost.

The band comes down to play Duncanthrax's New Years Eve party.

Now this is some Republican-level pouncing.

A young monkey is rehabilitated and then reunited with his troop.

An Innocent Dog.

I think I'm being punked.

Kids! Time for bed!

14 As a kid I did a similar drop experiment with or amiable cat Tigger who was roughhouse proof even with 6 of us. On the bed we held him upside down and let go to see how quick he could get feet down. I think it was less than 3 inches when he could not get totally turned over feet down. It was smooshy enough no harm was done.

I got that email yesterday. I think they are adding ads to their original Prime shows, not movies you rent or buy.

I'm seriously considering dumping Prime. It's basically the same as cable now. The only good show they have is The Grand Tour and Clarkson's Farm. Maybe that James May travel show. Other than that, it's mostly shite.

And we were doing pretty well this week with the bat in the Café earlier this week, and now this. * sigh *

The redeeming factor is there's no fiddler crab in that band, and everyone knows (or should know) that if you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band.

This is the crap I can't stand. They admit they are going to annoy you with ads but for a small fee (that keeps going up) you can avoid the annoyance. It's extortion. The mafia would be proud.

29 Kevin Richardson has his lions, and it should make perfect sense that a human who has bonded with the lions will be absolutely safe with them, because they really are just big cats (and your house cat really is just a small lion or tiger).

It's the hyaenas that were are revelation to me, because we're all led to believe hyaenas are dirty smelly stupid silly weird monsters.

And they're not. Granted, you don't want to just go up to a random hyaena, but those who work with them testify to their intelligence, and the very clear structure to their packs, with everyone knowing their place in it.

Kevin says he sometimes has problems because one or another will question his place in the pack, and he always uses whatever he's learned to make sure to reinforce for them that he's not to be trifled with (because if they did he'd be dead in a second).

It's will, frankly. It's one of the reasons I constantly butt heads with certain people here.

Some folks, still, spout constantly that "rules" are in place that matter. They're the same people that find comfort in Chesterton. Also the same folks that scoff at the idea of vigilantism. And, sometimes, like to scoff at "gun nuts".

They get louder, the more shit goes off the rails. Because they insist that we all pretend, right along with them, that everything is OK. Everything is fine.

They are the tyranny of the store shelves. As long as the shelves are not completely empty ? They'll continue to bitch that we all go along with the lie.

Smells like ass. He likes wimmen, so he's not a sodomite.

I have been thinking of giving him the boot camp routine of washing that ass, drying that ass and for gawd's sake splash some smell good on that ass.

Anyone speak Hungarian?

Wiki has a short article on this topic, whatever the last Federal law implementing the amendment (as required by the amendment).
It was last used over a hundred years ago to bar one from office...
But first he had to be elected. And then previously CONVICTED of an actual crime.

One could quite well argue that those barring Trump from any ballot are actually the 'insurrectionists' - trying to overthrow the Federal Government.

Japan makes sure that all their rice is grown in Japan. It is more expensive and of course the plan is set up for some level of corruption, but their experience is that being starved of rice will destroy them, no matter how powerful they are.
there are two sides to this argument, although it is cheaper to offshore production, it also destroys the other industries that are involved with that production, and has hollowed out our economy.
the second thing is that we are now at the mercy of foreign manufactures which are controlled by people who are currently bought and paid for, but may prove to harder to keep when and if outbid by competitors and/or changing political winds

thirdly, I am not as concerned about foreign lands' children near as much as our own. It is as valid a WAG to say that when child labor is less valuable, then child tracking may be less attractive as a business model.
