Students Offered Early Admission to Harvard are Weighing Their Options, Thinking About the School's Antisemitism and Its Declining Cache in the Job Market

It's also affecting Yale, which is seeing its lowest rate of students accepting early admission offers since more than 20 years. Non-Ivy top schools like Emory and Duke are seeing many more applications.
A place at Harvard used to be something to boast about -- now students fear it's a stigma. Early applicants who received acceptance letters from the university last week are considering applying elsewhere, The Post has learned. Some are citing concerns about experiencing campus antisemitism, while others worry a Harvard degree could hurt job prospects as employers pledge not to hire its graduates because of the university's handling of anti-Israel protests. This year, the school reported a 17% drop in early applications, representing a four-year low. And the acceptance rate creeped up to 8.7% from 7.6% last year. One driver, according to college admissions consultant Christopher Rim, is students concerned that they may get tainted by the storm around the college's antisemitism problem. ... Rim, the founder and CEO of Command Education, says every single one of his clients who applied early to Harvard this year was accepted -- but that not all of them are satisfied. "Normally, once you get into Harvard, my team and I are done. We're like, 'Great, it's a success, congratulations, goodbye,'" Rim said. But one particular client's family wasn't celebrating. Instead of accepting their offer from Harvard, the student is scrambling to send applications to the remaining Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT and Emory. The student, who is not Jewish, is applying elsewhere over concerns that going to Harvard might hurt employment prospects. Rim was shocked: "I was like, 'Why would you do Emory if you've already gotten into Harvard?'" ... "This was the first time this concern has ever come up with a client," Rim said. "They told me, 'I just don't like that attention on Harvard if it's going to hurt my child's chances of getting the right job in the future.'"
Employers are warning Harvard students, as well as all students from lunatic asylum schools: we have "zero tolerance" for anti-semitism.

Since October, more than 200 law firms have signed onto a letter to top law schools warning students that their firms have "zero tolerance" for antisemitism, according to information provided to The Fix. "As employers who recruit from each of your law schools, we look to you to ensure your students who hope to join our firms after graduation are prepared to be an active part of workplace communities that have zero tolerance policies for any form of discrimination or harassment, much less the kind that has been taking place on some law school campuses," the letter states. The law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, whose Senior Chair Joe Shenker initiated the letter, declined to comment, but a spokesperson directed The Fix to an updated version of the letter, which now lists about 250 law firms. In the letter, the law firms said antisemitic activities -- including campus protests "calling for the death of Jews and the elimination of the State of Israel" -- will not be tolerated in their workplaces. While most universities have not commented publicly on the letter, Jim Rosenblatt, dean emeritus of Mississippi College School of Law, told The American Lawyer that they "will pay attention to it."

I haven't heard the best things about Emory Law school, it's very woke. And Emory is very tied to the CDC and the Carter legacy. Having said that, the College is MUCH more tolerable by our standards than are these other institutions. VERY academically minded student body AND in a GOOD way if such can still be. And a VERY active Jewish student life there, to boot.

I think part of what's driving this is the deep-down loathing Americans have against double standards (despite what the Left/media constantly pushes). Colleges have been publicly punishing one side of free speech for at least a decade, and all of a sudden they're allowing and facilitating the other side, which is very much a double standard.

About employers refusing to hire students from schools that don't punish antisemitism. I think they've just figured out a permissible way to refuse to hire these credentialed, entitled, useless snowflakes who are, in baseball terms, clubhouse poison.

Alberta Oil Peon: Saw your post about successfully bringing the desktop back to life. Congratulations.
CMOS battery is usually the CR-2032 "quarter sized" battery. Easily obtainable pretty much anywhere.
If you run into the problem of the flashing drive lights and nothing else firing up again before replacing the CMOS battery, try this:
1. Unplug the AC Power cable from the power supply.
2. Push and hold the power button and hold for 15 seconds. (This should completely drain the power from the capacitors on the power supply board, as well as the motherboard or any cards like the video card.) Release.
3. Plug the AC power cable back in.
4. Try powering on the the computer again with the power button.
Sometimes boards can get into a stuck/confused state if there's some, but not the expected power levels on the board and it will refuse to send the "Power good" signal up to the power supply to say "All's well, send all of it now." The CMOS battery being low might cause that bad state.
Lastly: It might be time to re-do the thermal paste between the CPU cooler and the CPU itself. Just something to consider. If it dries out completely, it can't do its job and that's bad.

It's been decades since Harvard offered a better education. For most of that time, however, they kept their reputation because they took in freshmen who were just smarter than those at other schools. Once they quit doing that, the graduates were less stellar and the facade started to quickly crumble.

Oh ffs the education these schools have been providing has sucked for years. If you hired a harvard grad who just graduated from 8 years ago, they suck... they are just as trash as the ones you would be hiring who just graduated today.
It's not much better at some of those other schools.
It's time to ditch the piece of toilet paper most degrees are written on today.
Find who who knows what, and guess as to whether they would be a good fit on your team... whether it's someone who has a 2 year degree from a community college, or a 4 year trash degree from Harvard.

- no criminal record or flags in the system
The system does not 'clear' people, it just has known people who are flagged. By definition, illiegal aliens are WithOut Papers so they would not be in that system if they assume a new identity.
