There's a big difference between silverware and sterling silverware, which is a premium flatware made with precious metals. It is NOT recommended to wash sterling silver dishes or silverware or silver plated flatware in the dishwasher as the high temperatures and detergents can damage or tarnish the silver.

In my municipality there were so many OOPSIES with people cutting trees around incoming drops our rules are you can't even trim a tree on the city side of the sidewalk, you have to pull a permit (free), call Electric to drop the feed, and hire a licensed tree outfit to do anything.
Or, do it on a weekend or holiday when nobody's looking and hope you don't screw it up because that fine is HUGE. Posted by: LenNeal at December 24, 2023 01:36 PM (43xH1) 214

If memory serves me correctly, the Romans ruled over Judea, which they renamed Palestina after the conquest over the insurrection of 70 AD. Jesus was Judean.

Ok, so if Christians are such rabid xenophobes that they would not acknowledge Christ was Jewish (which is what the left thinks) why would that same xenophobe happily consider Christ a Palestinian?

In my case the main lines are on the opposite side of the street, across from me. So Power butchers anything on that side but my drop to the house is solely my responsibility despite the fact that literally the other side of the street gets their trees trimmed or taken out for nothing.

Many Christian hymns have their origins in rowdy tavern songs. The pastors gave them new titles and new lyrics. "Why should the devil have all the good music?"

Local 700 bed hospital went to extremely limited food service for several years. They contracted with Chik Fil ay for half of a tiny space that had only a lone solitary short order cook as an alternative. I was infuriated at both the hospital management and regional Chik Fil A management for taking the contract. Lots of hospital employees get called in on Sundays. And Jesus argued with the Pharisees on the issue of working on Sundays.

If you are washing the sterling to get it clean, you may want to wash it with a sponge. If you are trying to get the dark parts off, you may want to consider soaking it in boiling water in a glass tray, with baking soil and a strip of aluminum foil to act as a cathode.
If the washing machine makes it shiny, it might be etching the silver. If you use the baking soda, it is supposed to scrounge the oxidation and redeposit the silver. Posted by: Kindltot at December 24, 2023 02:02 PM (D7oie) 248

CBD, thank you all the great writing and comment fodder. Your best morning posts, from my humble perspective, were the French guy who was anachrist and loved painting lesbians in bed and the English artist who got naked for lady friend subject for anatomical lesson purposes only. Those attributes are not strictly artistic but in the larger sense of living an artistic life it is pretty hard to top those two. Any chance we might see more of that kind of content in 2024?
