Details have leaked of AMD's upcoming Epyc Turin server CPUs. (Tom's Hardware)

These will have up to 128 full-size Zen 5 cores, or 192 of the slower (by about 20%) Zen 5c cores.

This is not great news for Intel, which only just announced its latest 64 core server chips.

They'll ship next year.

JQ, thanks for asking ... We haven't seen them for about a week. It doesn't mean they are not there (I hope) but it's dark out now. The food we have been putting out is getting eaten but we do have a possum or two, the odd raccoon and skunk.
She could also have moved, with the babies, to a neighbor if maybe she'd felt insecure because of the other wildlife.
I'll keep you informed via the Kittens updates.

There is a difference between hoar frost and "rime ice". The latter is often confused with hoar frost. Hoar frost is formed by direct desublimation of water vapor on a surface.

Rime ice is formed by supercooled liquid water freezing on things. They look very similar, but an experienced eye can tell the difference.

Re sublimation. My cousin the retired meteorologist and I were talking about this. Meteorology uses sublimation to mean both ways, solid to vapor, and vapor to solid.

They are adamant about this. Desublimation (or "deposition") are never used, and you'll get run out if you use them.

So the NWS will say that hoar frost is formed by sublimation of water vapor in the air.

50 For the second weekend or so in a row we were suppose to have the storm of the century, so far it's rained but nothing too spectacular.

The wind gust have blown most of the things in my yard up against the fence, but that could also be because the asshole building a "luxury building" out of toothpicks and thumbtacks, left all the sliding doors open on each floor, creating 4 Wind tunnels pointed at my house. Im guessing he's trying to make the his collapse (for a 2nd time) so that no one notices the shoddy work he did, and then he'll bilk the insurance again.

I deem them wrong. It's a Chemistry term meaning going from the solid phase to the vapor/gas phase. Typical examples are mothballs (naphthalene or 1,4-dichlorobenzene), camphor, water ice such as in freeze-drying, etc.
For the reverse the term deposition is used, for example many metal coats (gold, copper, nickel) can be applied to surfaces by 'thermal deposition'.

Do they believe in global warming too? Climate = weather?

It's actually different, "glaze ice" maybe, I'm not sure. Freezing rain can involve supercooled rain drops. The rime ice forms by smaller droplets, as with the freezing fog.

There are various different types of ice that form under all these different conditions. Some will have a lot of trapped air and all that.

There is a type of ice that we call "spew ice" locally. The proper term is needle ice. That forms directly on the ground, and comes from water in the ground being drawn up by capillary action and freezing. It produces these long needles that typically push up bits of dirt.

They have names for just about every type of ice/frost that forms under different conditions.

Indeed some purists define "frost" to mean any of the forms of ice crystals that form by desublimation, water vapor to solid directly, and use "x-ice" to refer to solid state that results from the freezing of liquid water, whether supercooled or not.

There is also an African American cook. a woman who son had died in Vietnam.

We- the family went out to an early dinner and then saw the movie so it was a very nice evening for a special day.

Too far from home so can't go home for long weekends, only at the end of each term.
That was me at every boarding school I attended (3 of them). First one was grade school. 90+ miles of dirt track, rust to be seen to be believed else just bad corrugation, enough to eventually destroy a car. So sometimes by pooling I got to go home. The other two were in Nairobi, very far from Uganda and Tanganyika. That last one, I used to fly in a DC3 to and fro. Sometimes a friend who lived closer, would invite us 'Too-far-ese' home with them and that was fun especially if to a farm.

Since Salty appears to have left, I'll handle this one. As the thieves exit their van on the way into the building, you can see that the interior is empty. As they are preparing to escape, Theo drives the phony ambulance out of the van. Tiernan explains that there was a lot of improvisation during filming, and at the start, they weren't sure how the thieves were going to get away. (Tiernan's commentary on the DVD is very entertaining and enlightening, BTW).
