HOV lane.

Freeway.

Some horses have it soft.

They're having so much fun with a flashlight. I can't think of anyone who could derive so much joy from something as simple as a six inch object, except for Jonah Goldberg's wife.

Is this the real bigfoot?

I suppose that's possible. I kinda think they're f**ked no matter what they do, so it's a matter of trying to find a solution that might not exist. That's what I'm saying. Stuff gets written, shows up on teevee, and these people are straight up completely lying about everything, but it seems hard for some people to absorb that.

So when I say "they're acting as if it's up to the voters," I'm saying that's the show they're putting on. So when you see something posted in the Hill, about how they're trying to talk Jill into talking Joe out of running, it's all complete bullshit. That's all for people who still think their vote counts.

>>There’s no replacement for displacement. V8, yeah!!

True, but in their stock forms, the V8 makes 260Hp and about 280ftlb torque, the V6 makes 270hp and 290ftlb torque.

The difference is the V8 engine can be rebuilt with performance parts that will enable you to to add a turbo or supercharger to really up the HP and torque.

I have a Wrangler with a Corvette engine in it, so a performance off roader is not really necessary right now.

I think I'm looking for a better daily driver because dailying a built up Jeep is not all it's cracked up to be.

But I also crave a project vehicle as my Jeep and Colorado are pretty much gone as far as they can go.

105 If it's *exactly* the same V8 they put in the Land Cruiser / Lexus I'd go with it. Those things are designed and built to be ridiculously long-lived. IIRC the switched to a timing chain design recently, too, which is nice.

I sort of doubt they'd sell the exact same engine, though, because if you could get the engine in other vehicles it would take away a big part of the sales pitch of their flagship vehicles.

That's an ONT thing.

This is not the ONT.

Had to find a dr who would prescribe T3 as well as T4 meds

Yep, there's that too.

Even endocrinologists don't have a good fix on handling the troublesome cases well / appropriately.

171 Not read comments, so this might be a repeat, but you're pretty damned dumb to leave your door open for a whitetail to enter your home.

So if low thyroid function is the issue, drugs like Synthroid, Levoxyl, and Levothroid can help and are usually readily available. I'm not sure why you state the delineation of T3 and T4 as these meds work well to support Thyroid function as a whole.

After weeks of feeling like I was running through woods in which there was nothing but things that I must do, and do them NOW, I have arrived at the time where I am running through scrubland by comparison. I still have lots of things to do or clear from my queue, but the immediacy imperative has been dialed back to 4 or 5, down from 11.

'Be sure to take max dosage of your favorite laxative an hour later.'

Does that act as your alarm clock?

There are instances where the t4 isn't being converted into t3, and yet the TSH values show that everything is in order.

Supplementing t3 can be beneficial, especially in the mid to late afternoon.

Eh... no, I think that means precisely the opposite.

I don't suppose they mentioned Shinedown, Godsmack, or really any rock band that people under 60 actually care about.

There are rumors that Elon Musk's Texas Institute of Technology and Science is closer to reality, with a purported campus in the Austin area selected.

When it goes live, the "TITS UP" signal will sing out!

179 If you look at deer close up, the amount of scarring from ticks is amazing.

We have deer that come right up to the house looking for hostas. Ever place they can not bite, scratch, or rub strongly has a tick.

I think the point is, Foreigner and Styx were top 40 rock and roll bands and Shinedown, Godsmack or any alledged rock of today isn't even top 200.

While Rock may not be dead, it's been pinining for the Fjords for 20 years.

I do think it will comeback in about a decade as times get tougher.

That is a very smart move by Musk, which will engender even more hatred from the Left.

A merit and standards based university training will outperform one from today's Harvard in a heartbeat.

184 I could totally see Elon Musk founding a college if he finds the current ones sufficiently lacking. When I was a young whippersnapper in the early 00s, the Olin family--they make ammo and related things--had recently done exactly that. VERY small and elite, just a few hundred students and for the first ten years or so they didn't even have to pay tuition.

IIRC I applied and got turned down for what would have been their second or third year. I probably came out better by taking a different path, but I must admit it would have been quite fascinating from a historical perspective to have been involved in the student-culture side of establishing a new institution from scratch.

Posted by: CppThis at December 14, 2023 10:16 PM (PZvjL)

185 Oh, and the internet tells me that Olin College's endowment is less than a billion. Musk's spent more than that on several occasions just asking random online people if he should do something lulzy.

186 Stanford started out as a merit based university focused on technical studies for the really smart west coast students who couldn't afford or didn't have the connections to go to one of the Ivies. Herbert Hoover and my great grandfather were in the first class, but my grandfather had to leave because of funding and family problems.
