As I've mentioned, I've gotten back into vinyl, my brother has been me care packages.
The great thing about how records were produced is that an entire side was typically meant to be cohesive experience for the entire side, not necessarily a theme but to deliver a sonic experience. I listened to Moving Pictures for the first time in probably 35 years and from the opening synth stab of Tom Sayer to the closing drum crescendo of Limelight, it's an amazing experience. The "B" side of Witch Hunt to Vital Signs, which has really crept up in appreciation to me, is also just so cohesive. Van Halen I is like that as well. I saw a painting recently, of saint somebody or other, which was painted in the middle ages, early renaissance, Spanish setting. I was admiring the main composition, but the docent pointed out a balcony in the background. And on that balcony was a group of people in yellow pointed hats. Jews from that era, docent explained. I knew that Jews were forced to wear distinct clothing so they could be picked out, buy seeing it that renaissance painting was... interesting. Like a record.

Willowed, but too important to not include:
The pioneer behind mRNA vaccines has revealed plans for a new vaccine that immunizes against cancer more than a decade before it strikes. -- Ah yes, the MRNA injection that the Florida Surgeon General *just* asked the FDA about because it has the potential to alter DNA in a way that the new DNA sequence will be passed along to the the next generations. https://tinyurl.com/yr2d4vmu And the FDA just refuses to respond other than to say "That's misinformation" Because it can't be talked about. The MRNA shots were dangerous, they knew they were dangerous, and now it's starting to be understood just how dangerous they were. But it doesn't matter. The entire COVID psy-op served multiple purposes, and one of them was to get the MRNA injection past the trial hurdles that it couldn't pass on its own. Just force people to get them. There. Done. MRNA technology is not new, they originally tried to use it as cancer therapeutics, they found that instead of fighting cancer, it would accelerate cancer growth, so it was shelved. Berserker, Hadrian: My condolences on your losses. Death is the enemy of us all.
Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at December 15, 2023 09:00 PM (qPw5n) 103
Delilah succumbed to an extremely aggressive tumor in her sinus. The poor thing must have been in agony. There was nothing to do except let her go and spare her any more suffering. Afterwards I admit my voice cracked and my eyes filled when I thanked the vet and her staff for the care they provided over the years (please don't revoke my man card). The vet burst into tears and said it was a privilege to be part of Lila's story. Her Majesty is devastated. She's been in this for 50+ years but this one was hard. You don't spend years on the road together without forming a special bond. The puppies will be fine. They've largely been weaned but no longer have a role model to teach them. Thank you for your best thoughts and prayers. Thank you for listening patiently to my blathering about Lila over the years. You all are wonderful folks. Hadrian, we loved hearing about Delilah. Seemed like she was practically a member of the Horde herself.
May the Lord console you and Her Majesty in your loss, and may he help you and her in looking after your the little puppies It’s getting dusty in here… Posted by: Bulgaroctonus at December 15, 2023 09:06 PM (f2dNy) 108

Berserker, Condolences for all your losses recently. We have many boxes of dog ashes and we wondered what our kids would with them when we are gone. Now we know. What a sweet thing you all did. Posted by: four seasons at December 15, 2023 09:11 PM (ichPI) 110
It's such a cruel twist of fate that the story of the year breaks on a Friday night, so we won't get Ace's take on RamrodGate until Monday.

Sounds almost like a "VIKING" burial though I'm sure a fully laden ship was not included. Though... would not that have been so very epic! Sorry for your loss Berserker. We older posters are starting to see alot of this recently... Posted by: Nightwatch at December 15, 2023 09:20 PM (UsQA1) 116

This is how I console myself when one of my pets passes. I made the very best home for them anybody could. Posted by: gp at December 15, 2023 08:46 PM (MvF+J) Views like this changed the way I look at pets - especially my cat. Our home will be the only world she knows, so why not make it the best place it can be. Wasn't a pet person before, but I'm more of one now. I'm better for it. It's no small thing to care for a cat or dog for a lifetime, especially with today's high prices for food, supplies and vet care. All my cats have been rescues; I figure, if I don't save them, who else would? But I'm too old now to take on any more, so when these four are gone, that's it. I worry who would take them if I pass before they do. Posted by: gp at December 15, 2023 09:32 PM (MvF+J) 122

146 As I read Scripture, it is morally wrong. E.g., Matt 6:26: "... Are you not much more valuable than [birds]?"
