Those are their EARS below the horns. Really long ears for cattle, but those are definitely ears.

As for the 2 sets of feet. It doesn't look so much like someone is riding behind Santa, as it does Santa knocked the previous rider out, onto his back, then sat down on top of him. (His lap looks weird.)

'90s Columbo episode, "Agenda for Murder". Patrick McGoohan, doing his third stint as the murderer, is playing a wily, underhanded political fixer. He has a problem with a former client.

He shoot him in the head at his desk, then stages a suicide, much like the above puzzle. He has some burned gunpowder in some tin foil. Once he's shot him, he places the gun in the victims hand, and makes sure to get the powder residue all over his hand.

Before he gets around to placing the gun, some blood drops on the floor. After he places the gun in the hand and sprinkles the powder on the hand, he lets the arm loose, and the gun falls on the floor.

Right on top of the blood spot. That gets Columbo going, of course.

I saw a video of someone using downspout for the exhaust of their home-built oil heater.
It was not reassuring. I don't think the guy used any insulating or gap where the downspout came out from under the eaves.

When I interviewed with DuPont and later received their site visit offer in the mail, the envelope's return address read "Camden" and I thought, "Oh, hell to the no!"

It turned out to be Camden, SC (even though the plant was located in Lugoff, SC, just across the Wateree River. I took the trip, was offered a position, and thus my illustrious career in the chemical industry began. The plant's proper name was May Plant; Invista (Koch Industries) owns it now and nylon-6,6 bulk continuous filament is the last of the three fiber products that once were manufactured there (Dacron and Orlon were the other two).

I spent five great years in SC and the experience broadened my outlook about the South and Southerners greatly and favorably. I'd move back there were it not for family ties of the missus here on the Delmarva peninsula.

Saw a lovely picture of one of the rescues we fostered three years ago. When we got him and his brother, they didn't have names, had never been on a leash, were unsocialized, didn't know what a dog bed was and were food aggressive.

Because we got them on the Fourth of July, we named them Blaze and Rocket. We cleaned them up, fed them, gave them treats and bones and talked to them. Now they're in forever homes and treated like kings. The picture of Blaze showed him on a sofa with his hooman.

It's nice to know you've done some good.

I don't think it can be.

Some lefties write like righties do, with their wrist straight, so their letters lean left, and they'd be okay writing on paper angled that way. Others write with their hand hooked around the pen, so their letters lean right and they drag their hand through what they just wrote, and they'd want the paper to angle the other way.

There's not enough detail in the image to see if the writing is blurred from her dragging her hand across the fresh ink, like the latter sort of lefty would do.

229 4" PVC pipe was the "duct" I used on the Sloop New Dawn, to get the HVAC product moving through the engine box, to emerge via a nice, teak framed register, out of the forward bulkhead of the aft, master cabin.

Wrapped the duct with 2" foam insulation, taped and sealed. It never sweated or leaked condensate.

That 4" pipe was the lesser split off of a "Y", as the main duct emerged from the Mermaid brand marine air unit, which I built into the landing for the main companionway ladder. The two batteries that used to reside that space, I moved to a neately 'glassed in battery tray n' box, under the hanging locker removable "floor". With another pair of huge 6v "house" batteries in boxes under the master berth. All through proper rotary switches and isolaters, of course.

The main HVAC duct & vent, was 6" PVC, running vertical next to the companionway ladder, facing into the main cabin at neck level.

Alas, all that work went down with the ship, when Hurricane Ike ate the boat in 2008.

People and family in my life that I have lost touch with or pushed away and now miss.

My first thought was the gun wouldn't been dislodged, even if she shot herself sitting down. Also weird she's still holding onto a cigarette, not very far burned down. She was not standing when shot as the splatter is way too low on the wall, but if she was sitting on that stool, she still would have been further up, given where she's bleeding (appears right side of the head). Blood spatter is strange; no bullet hole in window or wall, but lots of blood without much splatter. I would've expected more spatter on her hand and the books (but maybe resolution isn't good enough). Bullet near glasses looks to be the wrong caliber.
Very suspicious.

We had a visit from my nephew, age 35, single, successful, owns multiple homes with no mortgages, traveling all over the world on expense accounts from his employer. He's just back from Peru. The problem is that line of thinking is it's sold as an absolute. When I was doing kitchens the rule was start straight and level and you will end up pretty damn good, but start fucked up and you will end in disaster. I think thats what doing the right thing is. Its not iron clad, but it gives the best "chance" of success.

Good point - any smoker worth his or her salt would keep at least one back-up. I wonder what could be made of the position of the head relative to the rest of the body - should there be some degree of displacement of the blood towards the lower limbs? Then there's the books - unstained, further indication of a different position when the shot was fired if we're to deduce anything from the blood spatter. The book marks could mean something as well.
