Good morning, kids. Never in my life did I ever, even in my worst nightmare, think that here in the United States of America that I could not celebrate and worship openly and without fear as a Jew. And yet, that is exactly the situation as it stands today. Ironically enough, in places that historically been the epicenters of American Jewish life, cities and areas run by Democrats.

Whatever one feels about the situation in Gaza, in theory, it's not supposed to have any bearing whatsoever on any Jew over here or in fact anywhere else in the so-called free world. And yet, that is precisely the situation. The holiday of Hanukkah starts this Friday and yet there are places where the usual and traditional public displays of menorah and the lighting of same are being suspended. The ostensible excuse is bad enough, which is allegedly public safety, i.e., so that Jews don't get the shit beat out of them in public for daring to celebrate. The real reason is so as not to offend those who seek to beat the shit out of the Yids for daring to publicly celebrate and offend their sensibilities.

Leftists seem terribly concerned with making sure they don’t offend Hamas-loving terrorist supporters who’ve spent the last two months cheering on the death of Israelis and calling for the annihilation of their country. On the other hand, few seem worried about openly giving the middle finger to the Jews.
Case in point: Williamsburg, Virgina, where a Menorah lighting ceremony was just canceled for fear of offending people who...well, hate the Jews.
LoveLight Placemaking said they’re nixing their planned Hanukkah event from their Second Sundays Art & Music Festival, scheduled for December 10, over worries that it would be seen by pro-Palestine groups as “siding with” the Jews, as the holiday celebration could be interpreted as "supporting the killing/bombing of thousands of men, women, and children.”
Shirley Vermillion, the festival’s founder, said the event “seemed very inappropriate” as “the concern is of folks feeling like we are siding with a group over the other...not a direction we ever decide to head.”
Naturally, Jewish groups said they were “shocked and alarmed” that a celebration of a 2,000-year-old cultural holiday would be canceled to appease people who don’t take Israel’s side in a war.
“We should be very clear: it is antisemitic to hold Jews collectively responsible for Israel’s policies and actions, and to require a political litmus test for Jews’ participation in community events that have nothing to do with Israel,” read a statement from the United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula, who pointed out that a Hanukkah event has nothing to do with the current Israel/Hamas conflict. “Those standards would never be applied to another community.”

This is on the heels of a Jewish teacher nearly lynched in Queens for daring to support the state of Israel, a lynch mob descending on a Jewish-owned restaurant in Center City Philadelphia and of course the murder of a pro-Israel rally-goer in California by a "Palestinian" professor, among dozens of other incidents since the mass-pogrom of 10/7.

All of this is yet another signpost that the world has completely gone off its collective rocker and his headed for an abyss combining the worst of globalist-totalitarianism, Red Chinese totalitarianism, and worst of all, a resurgent Islam that had been more or less kept in check since the end of the First World War. Dangerous as the former two for sure are, it's Islam that has been on the warpath for 1,600 years and its simple demographics that will ultimately consume us. These filthy, unreconstructed animals breed like cockroaches while we in the west sexually mutilate the children that survive getting their necks snapped in utero.

Unless the most radical measures are taken, like yesterday, the world as we know it or had known it will be gone. Forever. Canary, meet coal mine:

Antisemitism is fashionable again. Oh, it was never really out of fashion, but for a few decades after World War II, given what happened to Jews during that war, its expression was muted. . . . The anxiety among Jews is perhaps most pronounced in Great Britain, where 500,000 Jews are outnumbered 10-1 by five million Muslims. And the Israel-Hamas war, following on the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, far from causing renewed sympathy for the embattled Jewish state, whose civilians were burned alive, beheaded, tortured, raped, and mutilated, has instead led to more support for Hamas, the terror group whose operatives committed those crimes. Close to half of British Jews now say they are thinking of emigrating, so great has their sense of insecurity become. . .
. . . Central London is where the gigantic anti-Israel and pro-Hamas marches have taken place, and where Jews had to tread very carefully, steering clear of those crowds, lest they be set upon. When 100,000 people are marching, and chanting their violent anti-Israel slogans, Jews don’t dare to express their own views. They don’t wear their kippahs or stars of David in public. They understand they have to simply stay well away. . .
. . . What do British people think? Would they be glad to see so many British Jews leave the country, where they have for many centuries been loyal, productive, and creative citizens, driven out by Muslim migrants who have been neither loyal, nor productive, nor creative citizens of the land where they batten on government benefits of every kind, regarded as a kind of proleptic “jizyah,” and openly declare their hope and expectation, through demographic conquest, to turn the U.K. into part of Dar al-Islam, where Islam everywhere dominates, and Muslims rule, everywhere? Is that the future the British feel helpless to prevent, or will they come to their senses in time,, and do the following: first, put a stop to any further Muslim immigration; second, deport all migrants who are in the country illegally; third, deport all Muslims convicted of crimes after they have served their sentences; fourth, halt all welfare benefits to migrants during the first five years of their presence in the U.K.? Such measures will certainly discourage Muslim economic migrants from heading to Great Britain. And that turn-around in their numbers should reassure British Jews who, god knows, both need and deserve such reassurance.

Britain's and indeed most of Western Europe's demographic time bomb predates today's situation by many decades, but it is a time bomb of their own making. A long fuse with 10/7 at the end of it. A remnant of colonialism and a guilt complex for same? What a completely naive, foolish and as we now see decades later dangerous notion that just because a Pakistani or an Algerian is legally considered a British or French subject is therefore entitled to emigrate to the motherland without any other considerations.

Here's a parable: I distinctly remember as a kid in public school, administrators would take tough kids who were in fact juvenile delinquents and "mainstream" them by putting them into the same classes with the best students, thinking we would be a positive influence on them. You can guess how that worked out.

France imported God knows how many million Arabs and Muslims from North Africa and elsewhere and the result was not millions of new French citizens, but the transformation of whole swathes of the country into beachheads of Dark Age barbarism. True, the French government and people did essentially nothing to even try and assimilate these people, but it was a lost cause from the get go. They were invited in and behaved as outsiders and, as per the tenets of Islam, the first wave of Islamic conquerers.

As the article states, 500,000 Jews still live in England but there are upwards of 5 million Muslims. The most popular baby name in England is Mohammed, and that alarming cultural warning sign first happened like five or 10 years ago. Aside from the West adopting the most radical solutions, including the mass stripping of citizenship and deportations, the trend is irreversible. It also presupposes political leadership and a mass movement of the citizenry to adopt measures that go against Western tradition and by recognizing in the first place that Islam is completely incompatible and anathema to the past 2,000 of civilizational development and progress. That too is a non-starter.

The other huge and bitter irony is that places like Germany opened their borders to mass migrants because of guilt over what they did to the Jews between 1933 and 1945. Yet look who they let in to assuage their guilt over the Holocaust: dark age throwbacks mostly from Turkey and elsewhere in the Muslim world. Perfect.

So that leaves it up to the citizenry to take matters into their own hands as they had done in Ireland in the wake of last week's stabbing spree in Dublin. Problem is that Western governments in the main are firmly against their own people.

And as we all know, with a wide open non-existent border and joke of an immigration system over here, what's happening in Europe will be and in fact is happening here. We are being transformed into Yugoslavia right before our very eyes.

I have no concerns about 2024, for several reasons:
1. I don't trust DeSantis. I don't like the way the RINO / neocon / Bush crowd are trying to shove him down my throat.

2. Trump might believe the election was stolen, but he certainly isn't acting like it. He's traveling the country, giving speeches as though he expects there to be an at least reasonable 'election' come next November. All I hear from him is the same bluster as in 2016, which tells me he hasn't learned a damned thing.

3. I simply do not expect an honest 'election.' I am absolutely convinced that, unless for some reason the Deep State wants a GOP patsy in the Oval to take the blame for collapse, it will be stolen, blatantly, and all of the commentariat who assure us that that will be the final straw are either knowingly lying or deliberately whistling past the graveyard.

4. I live in MA. My 'vote' is worthless.

I was driving the other day and was thinking about the 'rural purge' of network TV that ace mentioned once (when all of the shows like Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies disappeared.) This was a conscious decision. Usually these shows were about the innate wisdom of the rural folk who were more on the edge of survival as opposed to the foolish city folks.

Then I thought about the TV mini-series (many with an overt Christian theme) and wondered, the lack is also a conscious decision- just as showing them in the first place was.

You can tell a lot about a society about the stories they tell and what they glorify or suppress.

In the end, a third party candidate pulled a lot of votes from Jimmah, and Reagan won in a landslide.

They've done it before. They haven't done it during this conflict, probably because of the risk to hostages and that such destruction also wrecks intelligence value of the tunnels and destabilization risk due to how damn much the stuff weighs - not to mention problems for the land afterward.

If they're going to start using seawater, it means that the hostages are now written off, intelligence value is deemed to be nil and destabilization of the land and salt content of the land (e.g., collateral damage) isn't a consideration.

It will happen over time and in fits and starts that will average out to something manageable. Property owners, for example, sell off stocks and bonds periodically to pay the vig on the better asset. It's only at the end of the game that the better assets get liquidated. This has the effect of reducing receipts the entire time, as asset values drop. That also has the effect of crushing the financial system, since it runs on asset inflation and has since the "Greenspan Put" back in the 90s.

That's the good scenario. The value collapse is inevitable, but it takes long enough to manage it. The huge - seriously huge, all-the-marbles huge - upshot for the ruling class is that somebody has to buy those assets when they go on the block. Who will that be? Why, it will be plutocrats and governments...

The founder of 2 of the startup companies I have worked for is an observant Orthodox Jew. He is also an investor in my current startup and will always be a very close friend. But in my experience, Protestants in general are great fans of Israel and Judaism. I know my Protestant parents were, and passed that down to all their kids.

America before WW2 was not exactly a pro-semitic nation. All the old prejudices from the old world were still in effect. And the history of the Diaspora is such that there was always an innate sense of nervousness about ones neighbors.

Of course I don't defend that part of his writings; but it's worth noting that his views that are now most widely accepted (even by Catholics) are when he most strongly opposed the accepted Roman Catholic practices of his day. (inducgences, frex) His beliefs which now look the worst are those, such as his anti-semitism, where he agreed with the prevailing sentiment of almost everyone in Europe in 1525. He was a step out of the medieval mindset, but not a full one.

I don't think it was a mistake, for much the same reason that it wasn't a mistake for Reagan to run and lost in 1976. A candidate that has never been national needs to find out why running on a national level is so different than running on a state level, and it often takes a failed campaign or two to learn that. DeSantis is still quite young, he still has a good 30 years of political life left in him. By 2028 everything that's happening this year will be a distant memory. By 2040 maybe he'll be running to be Grand Potentate of the Protectorate of Floridia, who knows.

I like your historical perspective in general, and DeSantis will most likely recover from this miscalculation. But as to Reagan's failed run, it was purpose-driven and heroic and he very nearly pulled it off. DeSantis ran at a moment when support for an unjustly persecuted leader was desperately necessary, and its absence an indictment of a weak-kneed and self-centered political culture; DeSantis's run is the opposite of heroic and unselfish.

I think DeSantis would have done much better for himself if he had spent the 2024 race being a prominent surrogate for Trump. He could have not only raised his profile in a positive way to what has always been the new base of the national movement which is America First he could have earned Trump's future support.

He got seduced by big money into believing he had a chance when he never did.
