Ezra Levant 🍁🚛 @ezralevant
The BBC's @AnisaKadri attended London's march against antisemitism in a very strange way: with hidden cameras, no visible BBC identification, and a bodyguard. Kadri was secretly filming the Jews for her reports and was very upset when I identified her. https://tinyurl.com/yc4rsdzv 54 seconds ----- Ezra Levant 🍁🚛 @ezralevant Why is the BBC so sneaky? A friendly reminder that it is 'legal' to steal up to $950 in California.
Filed under: GaVIN NewSOM IS nOT rUnNIng For PresideNt... Gavin Newsom deploys CHP across California to crack down on organized retail crime https://tinyurl.com/sbbsjara In a bid to curb retail theft, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that he is deploying the California Highway Patrol in “key retail districts” across the state this holiday shopping season. Newsom’s office added that the CHP’s Organized Retail Crime Prevention Task Force is out to crack down this season “through proactive and confidential law enforcement operations.” “When criminals run out of stores with stolen goods, they need to be arrested and escorted directly into jail cells. Leveraging hundreds of millions of dollars in law enforcement investments, the California Highway Patrol — working with allied agencies — is increasing enforcement efforts and conducting and supporting covert and confidential takedowns to stop these criminals in their tracks during the holiday season, and year-round" Newsom said. ArchaeoHistories @histories_arch 6h The 5300 years old shoes of Ötzi, the "Iceman". Ötzi's body was discovered in 1991 in a European glacier, on the Austria-Italy border. he was wearing a pair of leather shoes that dated roughly back 5300 years. Ötzi's shoes were made up of several layers. The inner shoe consists of string netting made from lime tree bast. Dry grass was stuffed under the netting for insulation. The outer shoe was made from deer hide and was stitched onto the sole like the netting. The sole was made of bearskin and worn with the fur on the inside. The shoe was tied onto the foot with bast string. Experiments with reconstructed shoes have shown that they are warm and comfortable even on long treks. Although they are enough warm they provide little protection from the wet, so presumably the wet grass was simply replaced from time to time. https://tinyurl.com/4xnbwj84 Posted by: andycanuck (krqg6) at November 27, 2023 07:57 PM (krqg6) 66
#65 reply:
TheOldestThing @ThingOldest Nov 21 The oldest shoes currently discovered are sandals made from sagebrush bark recovered from a cave in Oregon. The sandals have been dated to 9,000 years ago (~7,000 BCE) making them the oldest footwear recovered. The sandal style is known as Fort Rock style, since they were first discovered there and is distinct from other variants of sandal being flat, closed toed and have a twined sole. Interestingly, they don't look much different from some sandals available today, Humans use of shoes is thought to have occurred much earlier than 9,000 years ago, with some researchers suggesting it began around 40,000 years ago. At this time: Neolithic culture was established in Asia and was spreading throughout the world. However, most people including north and western Europe, as well as America still lived in scattered Paleolithic hunter-gatherer communities. The islands of Great Britain and Ireland were severed from continental Europe by rising sea water and the world human population was about 10 million. https://tinyurl.com/2p93jv7 photo Posted by: andycanuck (krqg6) at November 27, 2023 07:58 PM (krqg6) 67

Serendipity!
Archaeo - Histories @archeohistories 12h Switzerland’s High Cow Culture : "If Switzerland had to choose a national animal, the cow would be a strong contender", says Jacqueline Perifanakis. Unlike other countries, Switzerland doesn't officially have a national animal. But if it did, the cow would have to go up against the marmot, the ibex and the St Bernard, as one of the 'big four' featured by the Swiss National Museum Zurich in its 2018 exhibition 'Swiss Bestiary'. In a survey of visitors to the exhibition, the cow came in second. "It’s probably partly because dogs are popular pets and the St Bernard is a breed that originated in Switzerland", adds Perifanakis, who curated the exhibition. "For many Swiss, the sight of a cow evokes a feeling of belonging which is rooted in our history. The cow has historical significance that goes back to the founding of the Swiss Confederation in 1291. In 1386, during the Battle of Sempach, the cow symbolised our fight against the Habsburg lion." I attended a couple of cricket tournaments in the UK. Nothing major. One was local, near the base I was stationed at. The other I just kind of wandered to in Wales. The local one, I was several pints in to getting really drunk so that one is a bit of a haze. The one I watched in Wales, I was sober, more or less, and well, I didn't get it. There is a flow to it, and it has its own lingo. If I had put some effort into it, I could probably figure it out. The locals tried to help, bless there little Welsh hearts. They were many pints into the game.

NATO has been teasing Ukraine's admission into NATO since the 2008 Bucharest NATO Summit. At that meeting both Ukraine and Georgia were discussed as applicants into NATO. Putin first responded by invading Georgia. After the 2014 coup in Ukraine Putin took Crimea. Then President Poopy Pants started talking about inviting Ukraine to join NATO and Putin invaded. This was a war of NATO's choice. Regardless of what you think about Putin he warned what would happen if NATO kept expanding eastward at that 2008 Summit and unlike Obama Putin has real red lines. In fall 2020 Ukraine was prepping an invasion of the Donbas but the Russians rushed troops to the border and scared them back. Then an Australian media tycoon, Packer, came up with the One-day Limited overs format. Got lambasted but that format took off. Not boring at all.

We should have immediately demanded our citizens released or we would withdraw all aid and join the fight. How hard would that have been?
Posted by: Drive by - Instead we broke the siege, demanded food and fuel be provided to Hamas, and gave them $10B. All while not saying a single thing about the Jew hostages that were Americans or making any demands for their release while giving Iran/Palestine billions. No one credits government statistics anymore. They are consistently revised post-release. Now, there is some margin of fakery in the numbers being priced by the market.

Biden had a slam dunk chance to have a thriving economy after the COVID shutdown but of course they blew it by his administration implementing the same socialist economic policies they always do at the worst possible time.

I'm late, as usual, to the party. I just read the comments on the Biden poll thread. I noticed that a commenter was skeptical that the abortion issue was/is a big factor in tanking GOP candidates. I can only speak for my local and statewide elections (full disclosure: I live in a "purple" area of otherwise solidly Blue Jersey). The GOP state senator from my district is Ed Durr....you may have heard of him, he's "Ed the Trucker", who knocked off an entrenched machine Democrat in 2021. The machine was blindsided, and they failed to find boxes of lost votes. Anyway, in the most recent election, his opponent plastered the airwaves with "ED HATES WOMEN" commercials. Ed's message of tax relief and other boring economic stuff stood no chance, and he was easily defeated. Mind you, this is the People's Republic of New Jersey, where there is zero danger of any kind of abortion restriction. And even in some nominally Red states, like Ohio, abortion "rights" win big when placed on the ballot. I agree with another commenter, who said that Abortion is to the Left what the 2nd Amendment is to the right, the One True Issue.

Also because of circumstantial stuff like:
"A four-year-old Israeli American girl who was among three US hostages held by Hamas was released on Sunday." "Judith, 59, and Natalie, 17, who both have dual Israeli-American citizenship and reside in Evanston, Illinois, were visiting family in southern Israel to celebrate a relative's birthday and the Jewish holidays " But mostly because the administration didn't give a damn about any of them. Staying with that Biden thread...I don't care what the polling says, the Democrat will "win" in 2024, whether it's Biden or someone else. I'm not being Eyeore, I just call it as I see it. The so-called swing states are codifying vote fraud into law. The Dem-dominated Supreme Court in Pa just ruled that mail ballots received with a late postmark....or no postmark at all..must be counted. There were probably tens of thousands of these, er, suspect ballots in 2020, but we'll never know, as anyone requesting an audit is shouted down as a racist insurrectionist election denier. Add in the fact that they are sending a ballot to every address in the state, whether they want it or not, and...well, you get the picture. I'm not encouraged by the news from other states, either. Arizona is trying to criminalize objections to election results. Georgia refuses to do anything about documented cases of malfeasance. California is trying to disbar attorneys that worked on fraud cases. What am I missing?

No, you are not to say "Christmas is coming", because "someone might be offended".
OK, that someone will allow you to shout the name of any other religious holiday from the rooftops, but not Christmas. And it does not matter to them if even only a very small number of people celebrate that holiday other than Christmas, or even if no one does, so long as it is an alternative to Christmas. And it doesn't matter if the majority of people celebrate Christmas, you still are not allowed to mention it just as you are encouraged to mention any other holiday instead, however small or even fictional it is. If you see a sign on a business saying "happy holidays", understand that that means that business is run by cowards and liars. If they really want to say "holidays", plural, say "Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah". Jesus celebrated Hanukah, just sayin'. Oh, wait, your not allowed to say "Hanukah" either, because the whole Hamas thing. You must agree that "Palestine" must be "free" and extend to the sea, says the people who have now been accusing you for years of being "far right", Nazi, "white supremacists", as they march around in huge shouting groups hunting Jews to kill. Posted by: Nightfall at November 28, 2023 04:46 PM (xd3qE) 285
Uh, no, you cannot "officially say" "Christmas is coming". You are not officially allowed to say Christmas, you "might offend someone". You are allowed to say other holidays, regardless of whether anyone is offended. The smaller the number of people who celebrate that religious holiday, the greater the pressure brought to bear on anyone who notices the double standard, as if huge numbers of people were offended, when actually hardly anyone, or even no one, is.
"Happy holidays", the statement made by cowards and liars. Jesus, the Christ in Christmas, celebrated Hanukah, just sayin'. Posted by: Nightfall at November 29, 2023 12:05 AM (xd3qE) 286
