Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Cowardly Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Derek Chauvin AppealThe cowards did not say why they were declining to hear the case. They're not required to do that, but it would be helpful. And no one wrote any kind of dissent saying that the Court should hear it.The Supreme Court said Monday that it would not hear former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin's appeal of his second-degree murder conviction in the May 2020 death of George Floyd. Chauvin was found guilty by a state court in April 2021 and sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison in connection with Floyd's May 25, 2020, death, which triggered riots across the country and a prolonged debate on race relations in America. The high court did not specify why it declined to take up the appeal and did not indicate whether any justices would have heard the case. Chauvin, 47, is also appealing his conviction and 21-year sentence on separate federal charges in connection with Floyd's death. Those punishments were not considered by the high court. The ex-cop's lawyers had argued their client was denied a fair trial due to the publicity surrounding the case and concerns about potential violence if he was acquitted. A new documentary proves what most of us were already pretty sure of: Derek Chauvin and the other cops were railroaded by cowardly government officials who decided to make human sacrifices to BLM and the cult of the Gods of Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Rioting. He was railroaded by the same forces who railroaded most every convicted J6 defendent. The Democrat party has successfully weaponized the judicial branch.
Jack Cashill wrote a recent article outlining the autopsy findings on Floyd. In addition to the drugs and significant heart disease, he had a 4 cm paraganglioma in his pelvis. These tumors secrete adrenaline, and can cause a hypertensive crisis and death in response to vigorous activity or simply the fact he was positioned on his abdomen and was struggling. Previous catecholamine crisis from the unpredictable release of adrenaline from the tumor may also have explained some of his heart disease and other problems he had had during other encounters with police. I don't know why the defense didn't make something of this. https://tinyurl.com/2uy8reky Posted by: Dantes at November 21, 2023 03:26 PM (fVKtH) 29

Chauvin's problem is he let himself be convinced to plead guilty to the federal murder charges.
That guilty plea essentially let everybody in the so-called 'justice' system wash their hands of it and pretend that everything was good because of that plea. The minute he did that, he had zero hope of a successful appeal. Posted by: DudeAbiding at November 21, 2023 03:27 PM (setIA) 34

St Floyd's death did not trigger any riots. It was used as a pretext for the puppet masters to let their hords loose on their own neighborhoods.
In the same timeframe there were clear cut cases of cops gunning people down for S&G. They have to use a case that people will call BS on to raise 'wareness' and anger. This was noted by many at the time. And at the times of similar rabble rousings. Posted by: Itinerant Alley Butcher at November 21, 2023 03:28 PM (cOq4q) 37

Thanks Ace. A friend of mine worked on this. Liz BTW was a reporter at the local CBS affiliate. She left. She is also married to Bob Kroll the head of the police union. Liz is as tough as nails and a good honest reporter. She got fed up and went to work with Alpha news. The BLM/ANTIFA losers were outside her house threatening to burn her house down. This whole charade is a joke. The video of Chauvin on St.Fentanyl's neck was apprioved. The chief lied on the stand. In the doc they show pictures of other cops in training doing the exact same hold. He died of an overdose. If it were done to any of us we'd live, no problem. It was two white cops a black and an Asian cop. But muh racism. The trial was a circus. They wouldn't allow the MRT tactic police training to be brought in as evidence. As well as a whole host of shit. I am stunned and appalled that he is not getting a new trial. I shouldn't be shocked I guess. These poor guys are sacrificial lambs.

I watched Nail Ferguson on Trigernometry interview last night. He was tolerable ( I do not like him and he makes a lot of historical flubs) until the end where he ranted that Trump was an anti-constitutional tyrant who would destroy the Republic if he won again. He said that 1/6 was proof, yada yada. Now I think this is unhinged. I wonder if I am wrong and I check and look and can find no real evidence but over and over I hear that Trump worked to destroy the constitution, planned to seize power, and is a natural born dictator. Many individuals on the Left are all in on their delusion. I wonder if the Supreme Court Justices have a similar delusion about Floyd? (Incidentally (As I say over and over,) I think these people are 100% controlled by "the algorithm" as their media feed is tailored to make sure they never see an opposing position. I've seen that claim before. May be true. But that doesn't change the human instinct, in the modern era, to rush into that situation and pick a good guy and a bad guy. Now, let's be honest. One side see's a big, buff, blonde, stand in for Peter North named Derek Chauvin in a uniform. They pick him as the good guy. Other side see's the black guy, face down, and immediately picks him. Who picked better ? Nobody. They both suck. One's dead, and the other locked away. But such is modern America, in all it's stupidity. It’s probably for the best that SCOTUS didn’t hear it. The best evidence, the stuff about the cause of death that came out recently hasn’t been presented in a way that the Court could consider it. They have to present that info and then, if necessary, go to the steps to get cert. If they granted cert, then it would delay the process.

33 Chauvin's problem is he let himself be convinced to plead guilty to the federal murder charges.
That guilty plea essentially let everybody in the so-called 'justice' system wash their hands of it and pretend that everything was good because of that plea. The minute he did that, he had zero hope of a successful appeal. Posted by: DudeAbiding at November 21, 2023 03:27 PM (setIA) That is, unfortunately, correct. His only chance is at the executive office, not the judicial one, thanks to the plea. Posted by: Nova Local at November 21, 2023 03:37 PM (exHjb) 85

This morning there was a little discussion among some of us about the use of "lawfare" are whether it's suitable to correct alleged transgressions. Like fraudulent elections, or obvious misuses of justice.
I think anyone that relies on the courts, either through the use of lawfare or otherwise to correct a wrong or punish someone is going to be horribly disappointed. The left can get away with it, as has been demonstrated time and time again. But not the right. The courts, all of them, do not side with us in most cases. And why did all them other poor unfortunate cops around him never have the brain wave to say "hey, get up, he's down, we got him" ? Granted, losing George Floyd was like losing a piece of belly lint. "We are making progress. I don't think it's worth saying more, even at this moment, but I hope there will be good news soon," Netanyahu said as he met with reservists on Tuesday.
Chauvin's ability as a cop is NOT the issue. The issue was Floyd's behavior up to his apprehension and in the wake of his arrest. He died of a drug overdose compounded by COPD and other horrid health of a middle aged drug abuser. Chauvin was for sure railroaded. For murder. There is no doubt about that. Did he use excessive force? Maybe, maybe not. And if so, the most he should've got was a suspension or even a dismissal from the force. He did not murder George Floyd. Posted by: J.J. With verdicts for 52 charges marked in a thick packet before him, Chief U.S. District Judge Leonard Strand could have announced the verdict for each charge one by one.
Instead, he shortened the suspense, telling those gathered in the courtroom to hear the verdict in Kim Taylor's voter fraud trial that he'd summarize the jury's decision. It didn't take long. After roughly six hours of deliberations, the jury on Tuesday found Taylor, the wife of Republican Woodbury County Supervisor Jeremy Taylor, guilty on all 52 charges: 26 counts of providing false information in registering and voting, three counts of fraudulent registration and 23 counts of fraudulent voting. During the 2020 primary and general elections, Taylor, a Vietnam native, approached numerous Vietnamese voters with limited English comprehension and filled out and signed election forms and ballots on behalf of them and their English-speaking children. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) told the Washington Free Beacon that it merely "ask[ed] for an investigation" into Ayyad's "credible allegations" of an anti-Palestinian hate crime. Ayyad, 20, told police that a driver yelled statements such as "kill all Palestinians" and "long live Israel" at him before hitting him with a car, prompting CAIR to call for charges against the alleged perpetrator. Security footage, however, showed that Ayyad was injured in a fight with his brother, and police subsequently charged Ayyad for lying about the attack.

A federal jury on Tuesday found a Sioux City woman guilty of 52 counts of voter fraud, ruling that Kim Taylor had illegally filled out election documents and ballots for members of the Vietnamese community, who had limited ability to read and understand English...Prosecutor Ron Timmons in his closing remarks said American democracy cannot thrive if there is voter fraud, which undercuts the hallmark of one person, one vote.
I heard this on Iowa Public Radio about an hour ago. The first three online stories I found conveniently forgot to mention that Taylor is a Republican. Republicans cheat. It's what they do to get in and stay in office. Maybe not as clumsily as this, but some form of election shenanigans, like gerrymandering or running false ads. I bet she won't do a day in jail. Probably will get probation and/or community service. Maybe another one for Trump to pardon. If it's bad news for dems the media makes sure you know it but with the cons not so much. I lived and worked in the outer burbs, around the 212 posh-boy corridor. Avoided going inside Exclusion Zone 494 as much as possible. Close enough to know what's going on, far enough away that I wasn't directly threatened. But it was always out there, like a socio-economic sword of Damocles.
I always wanted to live ~30 minutes outside the TC metro and commute for work, but that wasn't viable on an engineer's salary. And, in the end it didn't matter anyway. Posted by: CppThis at November 21, 2023 03:56 PM (PZvjL) 149

Laws were violated. The media and the government demanded the jury find him guilty no matter what. Evidence was withheld. Testimony was withheld. It was a sham. Yes he got railroaded. Yes he got hung out to dry. No he didn't cause Floyd's death. Yes he hung him self in part by kneeling on a guy's neck while cuffed and both smirking at and taunting passers by. Yes he was probably a bad cop and a liability to the department. A bad confluence of shitty people, shitty policies, and an even shittier system.

You'll bitch, others like you will bitch, at the "unfairness" of the "system". Maybe an election was rigged ? Maybe there is some corruption. Until you see it, real time. Then, it's all about "that cop had to do what he had to do". Why ? Why did Chauvin have to kneel on Floyd for that long ? And why did all them other poor unfortunate cops around him never have the brain wave to say "hey, get up, he's down, we got him" ? Nope. When a man is trying to kill you, and on top of you, use the gun. I blame Zimmerman for being too light in the ass to be an unasked neighborhood watchman. Stay away from all of them, and don't willingly give then anything extra to use against you. Such as tax money. MRAPs. Flags or stickers on your truck to sway public opinion to vote them money to buy MRAPs and such. I'm just basing this on all the stories posted here, by Ace, about cops executing warrants to arrest this couple for a LEGO set of DC. Or that couple who's phone showed them in Maryland. The petition declined by SCOTUS presented only 2 issues: change-of-venue and jury sequestration. There is a lot of case law on those issues, and - as a matter of Federal Constitutional law - it's very difficult to overcome trial and state-appellate court rulings.
The fundamental fairness of the trial - primarily with respect to cause-of-death evidence - was NOT presented to SCOTUS in the petition they turned down. Rather easily explains why there were no dissents to the cert denial. Posted by: One-Eyed Cat Peepin' in the Seafood Store at November 21, 2023 05:10 PM (Ybhj0) 354

Posted by: One-Eyed Cat Peepin' in the Seafood Store at November 21, 2023 05:10 PM (Ybhj0) It was the whole issue, in essence. A man was presented before a court and jury provably afraid or certainly provably intimidated in order to convict contra-evidence in a venue that was pre-judged against him and could not get that change of venue in accordance with his constitutional rights to be heard as a defendant. This has to be the lowest from this laughingstock institution, besides Marbury, Wickard vs Filburn or Sillivan...shameful and Constitutional embarrassing for these pretend jurists. It's not hard to read, the US Constitution...it wasn't transcribed in some alien text. Posted by: Boswell at November 21, 2023 05:22 PM (K+UlC) 357
