7 willowed:

I tried out my new Renogy 150W CIGS solar panels. Functionally, they are impressive. 6.6 lbs per panel, tough as nails. I'm putting them on my truck cap. They work very well even when moderately shaded and connected in series. And they roll up for compact storage (at the moment). Timely arrival and well-packaged. Bad side: no manual, my disconnector tools didn't fit, and I suspect that the connectors are actually Amphenol-style H4 connectors. Which made me sad because the panel's specification page said "MC4 connectors". The cables are one color (black) which is dumb, because it's easy to lose track of what's positive and what's negative. So I'll have to make a hardware run and buy some weather-proof red tape and order a H4 disconnector tool.

This is the usual make believe used by partisan lawyers for public consumption, of course. This is how the narrative is shaped by political partisans who aren't really reporters or really even in media except by pretend - but who cares anymore? No one is really interested in the truth.

My former boss was a big Cowboys fan, which alone would have made me dislike the Cowboys....but there's more!

Back when I was a kid and my Dad and I watched football together on Sunday, he disliked the Cowboys even then (this was the 1960's).
I think Tom Landry was a pretty admirable guy, but then they kind of booted him out, and Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson replaced him. They kind of stink as human beings. Johnson let all kinds of shennigans go on when he was coaching the Miami Hurricanes, and then a lot of the same stuff was going on with the Cowboys (not advertised at the time). Kind of makes you wonder about Johnson, really.
And then Jerry Jones booted out Jimmy Johnson as head coach, because he knew MORE about football than Johnson did.
And....here we are.

First thing I saw was Dan Akroyd doing what I thought was a real commercial for his leather coat shop where you pick out your own steer, you stun it, you kill it, you skin it and he would sew it into a coat spoken in typical Akroyd maniac tone. I am very forgiving of vampire movies - I usually like even the campy ones.
John Carpenter's Vampires (the one with James Woods) was also just meh to me.
But it reminds me of the underrated Warlock (1989) with Julian Sands, which I think is quite good (even though it's not a vampire)

Age of the print? The film was made in 1958, after all.

It's possible that the script RV read was an early draft in which it turns out these cave people are the descendants of 20th Century man, who destroyed himself and his civilization with nuclear weapons. Thus the appeal to an anti-nuke fellow like RV. But the thing got rewritten, or they clipped out the ending with the twist, or something like that.

I just saw this and am reading the details, but on the night of Dec 11, a little before 8:30PM EST, there is going to be an occultation of Betelgeuse by an asteroid, 319 Leonia. It's getting close enough that the error bars on the path and timing are getting small.

This will be visible only in a narrow path that will go from Mexico, across the Gulf and across the tip of Florida, and then on across the Atlantic to Southern Europe (Spain and Italy).

Centered in that path, you would see Betelgeuse disappear from the sky for about 10s or so.

I'm sure there will be live feeds of this event set up that night.

She wasn't. A person who can screw people over, because she constantly sees herself as a victim, but she could be sweet and warm and fun. But when she decided not to be those things with me, she was done, and that's all there was to it.
