Heat that fitting and then throw it into your freezer for 3 minutes or so and force it out of the pressing. Then you can replace the pin. We rarely used it, and thought we were doing it a favor (I think the missus just put some ice cubes down the thing and ran the machine every now and then, to keep the blades sharp). Turns out, if you don't use it, it can rust and get locked up. Mrs. Paco (the brains of the outfit) ordered a special wrench which she used to unstick the wheels or grinders or whatever, and now it's working fine.

The play-by-play guy is fine, and there are many good ones. It's the other guy in the booth that is the problem. Please, for the love of God and all that is holy, SHUT THE F*** UP! That short interval between the whistle at the end of the play, and the following snap, does not need to be flooded with a word salad of gibberish and arcane football jargon. MSM here, reporting cops' statements, claimed it was a custody dispute.
Hot news @TheNewsTrending 5h After 18 hours, the kidnapping drama that paralyzed Hamburg airport ended: the kidnapper, identified as Salman A. (35), was arrested, and his 4-year-old daughter, whom he held in the car at gunpoint, was released unharmed. According to reports, the gunman kidnapped the girl from his ex-wife last night before fleeing in an Audi to the airport, where he broke through security barriers and parked under a Turkish Airlines plane that was about to take off. He demanded to fly with his daughter to Turkey and even shot several times and threw Molotov cocktails. All passengers were evacuated from the plane, and the airport and flights were grounded, while large police forces, including special counter-terrorism units, arrived at the scene. Grocery Outlet has some good wine! I didn't move my small stash.
I put together another piece of furniture. They called it a rolling kitchen cart or a coffee station. I wish it used real wood, otherwise a nice piece. I think there were 14 or 15 pages of diagrams on how to connect things. I picked up a heavy duty power strip, the kind with individual switches. It's close to the counter with my grain mill, Vitamix and Kitchenaid mixer, so I can plug them in too. The Breville tea maker has an interesting electric plug. It has a ring shaped piece, so it's very easy to unplug. I wonder why I haven't seen that before. Posted by: Notsothoreau at November 05, 2023 02:54 PM (cLWyk) 106
We go to world market or some similar place and buy wine. The rule is less than $15/ title and it has to have a cool label. We generally do well with wines from Chile. We've definitely had our share of stinkers though.

That would probably have worked, too. I believe she tried that, in fact, but maybe the screwdriver wasn't stout enough. One problem we had was that our disposal, unlike most of them (apparently), did not have a place at the bottom of the machine for an Allen wrench, which can be rotated to unlock the mechanism. Tyson Recalls 30,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets - Breaking911 Tyson Foods has issued a recall for nearly 30,000 pounds of a product known as dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. This action comes in response to reports from consumers who discovered small metal fragments in the nuggets. The announcement was made by the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service on a Saturday. The recall pertains specifically to the 29-ounce plastic bags of the product, officially labeled as “Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties,” according to the FSIS release. Approximately 29,819 pounds of these Fun Nuggets are affected by this recall. The contaminated nuggets were manufactured on September 5 and subsequently distributed across the United States to various distributors in states such as Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. That should be sufficient. This house is strangely wired, but for a reason. It's tough to find a single room where two receptacles are on the same circuit. To me, it makes sense. Probably cost a lot more in original construction to run so much more wire, but I seldom, if ever, have to reset a circuit breaker. My wife, with 1,500 watt hair dryer, and 1,500 watt curling iron, and warm incandescent lighting equaling about another 1,000 watts over the mirror, has worn a path to the garage to reset the breaker over and over. I told her over and over, you can't do that, you can't have all that stuff running at the same time. Dim the lights. Wait to turn on the curling iron. I think in another 30 years she'll remember. I don't understand why there are 7 separate wires attached to it.
__________________ When you're not bored put a clamp-type ammeter on the various wires to figure this out. Or, alternatively, disconnect wires. Probably a lot of those wires shouldn't go through the switch, but instead be connected to the mains at a junction box. Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at November 05, 2023 04:14 PM (tW3KO) 260

Incorrectly Posted by: Braenyard' Someone used the switch as a junction box. This is crazy dangerous. Posted by: LenNeal at November 05, 2023 04:16 PM (43xH1) 262
You cannot easily use a cheap 15-amp outlet from HC as a junction box, internally, but you CAN use a cheap 15-amp switch for that. It's insanely dangerous and people do it all the time.

AOP would have that thing in a hoist for repairs
AOP would take those parts and use them to make a better cork remover than this design, after drilling a few holes, using a few spare pins he had in a coffee can, and doing some brazing. ____________________ It is a little-known fact that 1953-1964 Studebakers (C and K) have a damn wine-cork puller right under the water pump manifold. I just don't know about you people. Actual fact: I have seen York big-ass air conditioning compressors under hoods with itsy-bitsy "Crown Cork" caps, like tiny coke bottles, holding the pressurized fluid in. A genuine York is about the size of a Wisconsin V-4. Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at November 05, 2023 05:10 PM (4PZHB) 269
I recognize that 7-wire conundrum. There was a wiring "theory" around, 40, 50 years back, that arose from the mobile home industry, that called for each room's electrical lead to originate from one single box in the ceiling -- making it modular you see. This was never standard practice for residential, but an employee of mine who was born in Tennessee and did a lot of side remodeling work told me about seeing it in places that had been "side jobs" for "professionals" who'd learned their trade in northern Indiana, IYGWIM.
If done right, it won't in itself cause a fire, but you have to be sure nobody has crossed a second circuit through there. Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at November 05, 2023 05:19 PM (4PZHB) 270
Indeed, these mechanical marvel cork pullers are nice when they work, and fun to observe them doing their job. However... they are rather complex little machines, and even the best of them will eventually break down and leave you high and dry.
I've tried lots of fancy cork pullers over the years, and eventually decided that the "double-hinge" folding corkscrew is the best one to have. It is compact enough to easily fit in a pocket, and gives you two leverage points, one for starting the pull and one for finishing. If you cannot pull a cork with one of these, you'd best just throw the bottle away, because a cork that firmly stuck means the wine inside will be simply awful. You can find these double-hinge cork pullers on Amazon, for a wide range of prices, but they all work the same. And if you are a little cheap, go to Trader Joe's, and you can find one for about $3 (last I checked). They are sturdy and dependable, and should last you a lifetime (or until you manage to forget it at a friend's house). My one complaint about the typical double-hinge cork puller is that the little serrated knife it has for cutting the capsule is simply crap. Posted by: DaveK at November 05, 2023 05:59 PM (g+GlZ) 271
Pfft. You progressives and your modern, hoity-toity crap.
Yes, the ancient ways are always the best - get yourself a real corkscrew. Or, put a tire needle through that cork and turn on your compressor. Either one works. Posted by: GWB at November 05, 2023 06:00 PM (JgU20) 272
Replace your gay "rabbit" wine opener with a waiter's tool.
You are welcome, both for the added convenience and durability as well as the extra benefit that people won't automatically assume you are liberal, gay, or both. Posted by: Dark Force Thirsting For Power at November 05, 2023 06:01 PM (QY+6a) 273

Hear, hear! With a minor amount of practice you will be able to remove the cork quickly and efficiently. Throw the Rabbit in the trash! Posted by: steve walsh at November 05, 2023 06:22 PM (niLXR) 274
I was going to go with the waiter’s tool vote but just buying box wine or bottles with screw tops solves that problem gets my upvote.
