From the last thread re: Paris Colonizers
If you’ve never been or haven’t been in a while, it’s hard to understand just how Arabic Paris is. It’s not just the no go zones. Those are a given. But it’s every aspect of society. From the doctor at the ER to the guy sweeping the streets and everything in between. And when you walk by a school the ratio of French to non French kids is 1:5 since few Frogs have kids while the colonizers can’t stop popping them out. At the airport you could close your eyes and easily think you’re at the Algiers airport, not CDG. France is fuuuuuuuuuucked. There is no way out for them. The tipping point passed long ago. > 44 France is fuuuuuuuuuucked. There is no way out for them. The tipping point passed long ago.
Posted by: Montec They do have a few mitigating factors. Despite being French, they're not TOTALLY retarded. Most of the Muzzies are packed into areas called "banlieues". These are outside the cities, not within them, and typically the only way to travel to areas where civilized human beings live is by a road situated at the bottom of a big concrete-lined trench, with unclimbable walls on either side. Easy to block off. Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia at October 27, 2023 08:09 PM (Y6AXb) 63

Yeah the banlieus are then no go zones I mentioned. But those are the hard core ghettoes. Think Compton but 10x worse. Most muzzies however live and work in “regular” Paris. That was my point it’s not just an isolated group off in the distance. It is “regular” Paris now.

Be a I'm a horrible mother.....
Marine's birthday is Nov 2. So, I typically would fill a piñata with all the leftover Halloween candy for his birthday party. Nothing wrong with that. Now, if you secretly swiped the kid's candy and then gave it back in the piñata, that would be borderline horrible. Posted by: Oddbob at October 27, 2023 08:28 PM (lyUT2) 103

He's asleep, he's had a head cold the past few days, but I will pass on your well-wishes. I'm going through photographs my mom gave me the other night. My mom, my sis, my daughter, and I went through boxes of photos my mom has, and she gave us all a bunch of them, some of them over fifty years old, of course. It was bittersweet, but fun. Laughter and tears were flowing in equal measure. Posted by: SMH at God's grace at October 27, 2023 08:30 PM (SRHw9) 104

Well, my gas tank boiling venture was a complete success. No gum, tar, or varnish remains in the tank. Metal is either clean gray, or covered with a thin patina of rust. Outlet pipe is clear. I dumped the caustic soda solution, and it was opaque dark brown. Dumped in most of a gallon of oxalic acid wood cleaner, to neutralize the caustic, and that got most of the rust, too. Followed up with three one-gallon shots of hot water, sloshed around well. The last one, when dumped out, was water-clear, as water should be. And no leaks appeared.

Tonypete, I hoped to find you in a thread today to tell you of a followup re: celebrating the holidays without a loved one.
Last night my son called to tell me he's coming for Christmas. He and his former wife are still working out who had the kids when (last year was their last chance to see my husband, so not a question) and they will be with her this year. So he's coming to me! Not only that, he has a couple of college friends in the same boat, and they are coming as well! I've known them for such a long time, they're like family. It will be so different, hopefully there won't be much room for looking back. So a part of surviving the holidays without a loved one may be to reinvent the holiday. I'm happy to have had the chance to tell you that before you give your talk. And thank to all of you who reached out to me last night about my husband's death. He was one of the great ones. We had 53 years together, and we adored each other every one of them. Posted by: Wenda at October 27, 2023 09:17 PM (Tji/p) 214

Wenda, reinventing can work so well. When my mother died, after a bitter estrangement from my father, the whole family was reassembled during her process of dying, and began the process of mending relationships. Her sister, who never married, my father, my husband and I, and my husband's friend Phil (who had no family anywhere near) formed "The Turkey Club", which met for many years on Thanksgiving and Christmas, at either my dad's house or ours. Everyone brought something, gifts were exchanged, our kids were born into it, and a good time was had by all. My dad and aunt are gone now, and lost my husband this spring, so about to reinvent again. Best to you. (and thanks to Tonypete--I read it too, and look forward to working with his advice)

We had a local Academy robbed in broad daylight of a basket of goods, then an Ulta store same-same minutes later. When the 2 robbers were leaving the Academy one of them peppersprayed an employee. I'm amazed some customer didn't plug them. I mean it's an Academy, in ETEX. Not surprised they got no resistance at the Ulta makeup store, where maybe only 10 percent of the women was armed. But Academy? Damn.

Simply a fad? Inexpensive? Easy to make? A sorta-filling salad or dessert? Probably all four. Lime jello with a can of fruit cocktail wasn't bad. Actually, almost any jello flavor with a can of fruit cocktail was not bad to my early teen taste buds. "The razor blade thing was an urban legend. Like Satanic Panic and needles on the gas pump handles.
Posted by: AlaBAMA " -- The needles were very real: "Even the CDC weighed in on the repeated rumors of needles in gas pump handles and said, "The majority of these reports and warnings appear to have no foundation in fact." (they admit that there were confirmed instances) https://tinyurl.com/2oeflj3m And the same is still happening. 2023: "The Forest City Police Department in North Carolina has issued an advisory after multiple razor blades were found on gas pump handles. The department published the community advisory on Tuesday to address “multiple instances of razor blades being placed in gas pump handles in Forest City and surrounding areas.” https://tinyurl.com/2oeflj3m (It's easy to understand the MSM/govt attempt to minimize and pretend that type of terrorism doesn't/didn't happen, though) Satanic panic is similar. It was discussed here not too long ago. The cases that were shown to be false overshadowed the ones that were confirmed. I don't know those names, though. Moron Robbie how was the trip?
Posted by: fd - Tiring but really great. About 10 minutes in we had a slight hot-running moment and just needed a topping off with a bottle of water. I had a good opportunity to talk about the engine cutaway we'd seen not too long ago and the little places coolant moves through and why it's needed, and we got to have a really good "AH-HA!" moment on why manufacturers made the switch from water and it's freezing/boiling points to coolant with different working temperatures. Great day all around, and I'm very grateful for your part in it. Posted by: Moron Robbie is trying to think of a funny handle related to Buicks at October 27, 2023 09:57 PM (kb4+v) 319

A primarily sessile parasite native to tropical and subtropical South America through North America (Mexico and the Southwest United States), this insect lives on cacti in the genus Opuntia, feeding on plant moisture and nutrients. The insects are found on the pads of prickly pear cacti, collected by brushing them off the plants, and dried. Chemical structure of carminic acid, the predator-deterring substance found in high concentration in cochineal insects: The insoluble aluminium and calcium salts of this acid form red and purple dyes called "carmine". The insect produces carminic acid that deters predation by other insects. Carminic acid, typically 17–24% of dried insects' weight, can be extracted from the body and eggs, Posted by: Gref at October 27, 2023 09:57 PM (5fDan) 321

Jell-O compositions aren't from the 70's. You find bizarre recipes for them in the 50's at least. "Aspic" dates from the Romans as a way of putting leftover pieces together that don't really belong. An old American favorite was "head cheese," which was not a cheese at all but a bunch of offal in what amounted to glue -- but it kept pretty well, and used up stuff other animals wouldn't eat.

It is also used in histology as a preparatory stain for the examination of tissues and carbohydrates. More info than you wanted - Natural carmine dye used in food and cosmetics can render the product unacceptable to vegetarian or vegan consumers. Many Muslims consider carmine-containing food forbidden (haraam) because the dye is extracted from insects and all insects except the locust are haram in Islam. Jews also avoid food containing this additive, though it is not treif, and some authorities allow its use because the insect is dried and reduced to powder Posted by: Gref at October 27, 2023 10:04 PM (5fDan) 338

Posted by: fd -- It wasn't anything much at all. Center info panel said something and I pulled over and put a bottle of water in and away we went.
