Howdy 'rons and 'ettes! How are things this evening? Any of y'all on your way to Corsicana yet?

The Enemy Within

Nolte: Ferguson II – Media Spread Hamas Hospital Hoax to Create More Violence

“Evil.” “Corrupt.” “Wicked.” “Dishonest.” Many words accurately describe the corporate media. Two words no one can use are “stupid” or “gullible.”

Oh, the stupid corporate media fell for the Hamas lies about Israel bombing a hospital.
No.
Good heavens, wake up.
No one with an IQ over 50 is “gullible” or “stupid” enough to fall for something that comes from the mouth of Hamas, of godless terrorists who less than two weeks ago committed the cold-blooded slaughter of nearly 1,500 innocent Israeli civilians.
No one in the corporate media — and I do mean no one — believed the same people who, less than two weeks ago, shot the heads off of babies, executed a massacre at a peace festival, raped women, desecrated corpses, and killed parents in front of their young children.

FACT: The corporate media did not believe Hamas — let me assure you of that. The truth is much, much more troubling than gullible, and the truth is this…
The corporate media are in the business of violence against Western Civilization, and right now, business is good. Violence equals ratings, which equals profits. Better still, violence furthers the far-left Cause. The Gaza Hospital Hoax was what the media call a two-fer.

This is something that has bothered me for quite a while. We don't have a media in this country, we have a propaganda operation, the scope of which would put the wildest dreams of Joseph Goebbels to shame. The idea of a representative democracy as a valid form of government rests on the cornerstone of an informed electorate, and the mechanism to achieve this was supposed to be a neutral press, combined with an educated populace. Now I know those are ideals that haven't always been lived up to, but today we have the exact opposite. We have a deliberately miseducated population being spoon fed lie after lie after lie, lies designed to confirm the bias that has been miseducated into them. Look at these kids:

How many of these kids know that Gaza is not in any way “occupied”, that they've has self rule, free of Israel, for the better part of 2 decades? How many know that Israel left behind infrastructure and industry so that Gaza could be self-supporting, and that the Gazians destroyed it because it was tainted by Jewish hands? How many of them know that the Hamas charter specifically calls for genocide of the Jews, and that is what their chant means? “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” doesn't mean that it will be a free nation, it means that it will be free of Jews.

And even if you could sit them down and explain all of that, and if they accepted it, how many of them would look at the conflict the the lens (as they've been taught) of “wealthy white (here Jews get to be white for once) society and poorer brown one, the whites MUST be oppressing the browns. The brown have the right to fight free of oppression.”

How many of you have talked to “normies” (by this I mean people who are not deeply plugged into any type of political forum. They don't read Ace of Spades, they read ESPN. They don't read Twitter, they talk to friends on Facebook. They glance at headlines but don't really read articles unless they're waiting in the dentist's office. In short, normal people living their lives. Most people, in other words) and been shocked at what they don't know, and at what they casually assume is true? The J6 folks were a violent mob, and BLM wasn't. Gaza is occupied by Israel. Kyle went hunting at a protest against racism and brutally murdered 2 innocent people. George Floyd was an innocent targeted by police and not a violent career thug. Approximately 40% of the population is gay. Hundreds of innocent, unarmed black men are gunned down by the police each year (in reality it averages about 11). And on and on.

Now these aren't positions that they will fight you on, because they are not strongly held, and in fact when you show them evidence to the contrary, most will say “Huh. I did not know that”, but these are the background assumptions that they live under.

And I don't know we successfully push back against this.

A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day

Sarah Silverman Comes Out AGAINST Hamas, Learns the Hard Way What Her Party REALLY Thinks of Jews

I absolutely can not STAND Sarah Silverman. She's the poster child for the entitled, arrogant , Hollywood limousine liberal. As such, I hope she's absolutely crushed at finding out where “her side” really stands. But good on her for saying the right thing.

Racist Or The Opposite?

I don't know what this is from, but I'm pretty sure it's from the 80s. And today we would say that it's racist af. But is it? As far as I can tell, they're mocking everybody. And if you're treating everyone the same, than it's pretty much the opposite of racism by definition.

Think about how you treat your friends who belong to a “different” group. Do you tease and razz each other in a manner that might cause offense to a stranger? Of course you do, and it's wonderful. I think those things were much more widely accepted in the 80s, and society as a whole is conditioned to take offense at the drop of a hat today. So which is it? Horribly racist, or wonderfully equalizing?

And that's all I have, unfortunately. My computer rebooted this evening while I was eating dinner, and for some reason when I opened the browser where I had all of the ONT content stashed, it would not allow me to recover tabs. This is what I found in a frantic search for content at the last minute.

Tonight's ONT has been brought to you by idiots:

One would think, if it was official, that would be done at the police department. Also, I share an office with a major defense contractor and am on their web.

71 How embarrassing can someone shill for Biden?

Let’s Just Say It: Biden Has Done a Great Job with Israel. We’re watching one of the best foreign policy responses by a U.S. president in a generation. We ought to recognize it. By Johnathan Last.

We should just say it out loud: President Biden’s reaction to the 10/7 attack has been one of the best pieces of foreign policy crisis management by an American president in a generation.

In one week Biden has:
-Given Israel moral, rhetorical, and concrete support.
-Rallied Europe to Israel’s cause.
-Pulled the main body of the Democratic party even further away from its radical, anti-Israel fringe.
-And pushed Israel to be more attentive to humanitarian concerns in its campaign against Hamas.

Here’s how he did it:

Unfortunately, the rest of the nonsense is behind their pay wall...I can't imagine what kind of pitiful, twisted creatures have THAT subscription.

I had only ever known him as an old, sick man who passed away when I was 13, but I was amazed that he had done cowboy work in Wyoming when he was about 20. Christmas was coming, he knew nobody out there and he really missed his large family back in Sisseton, S.D. (near the Minnesota line.) So he just said he needed a week or three off, got on his horse and rode it from Wyoming to Sisseton. Got there on Christmas day. He was a lot tougher than I had known.

88 I think we are in a time of the great choosing. We are seeing real-time as people self identify with knotsi thugs while wrapping themselves in the spirit of "revolutionary".

I fear that this one goes sideways. The joy at the massacres that many people so proudly display is unnerving. I fear there is a sufficient population that agrees with hamas that makes resisting with words and ideas dangerous.

I was at Penn state university last weekend and I saw many public presentations of support for hamas. Bold and unafraid.

Where is the Islamophobia in the US? Islam fears nothing in the US.

The real question is Who is afraid of speaking out in the US?"

I do 9mm because the Tupperware is much lighter than a steel 1911. And ergonomics for the 9mm is a global enterprise, and is much more advanced. The -USD$300 Tupperware pistol with 15 round capacity was unheard-of in 1975, which is about when I started buying my own guns. Any Tupperware is ergonomically far more advanced than the 1911. There is almost no recoil, I can hip-shoot with mine in ways impossible with a 1911.

My 4th grader came home today and, in the middle of a conversation, interjected with "nothing is worse than Hitler killing 6 million people." I said "Stalin killed 12 million people. Have you ever heard of him?" My son said "no." I simply said "things aren't as simple as they seem."

All the Tupperware and Plastic Fantastics have grossly spring-ey point-and-yank trigger pulls. They do not compare to the 1911 even out of the box, and my go-to is the Colt Official Police revolver pre-War, which has the best trigger of any pistol/revolver ever made.
But again, going to War or CCW. I find the DAO the thing for CCW, it's a known. If I'm in a war I'm not too concerned and 1911 all the way.

Pocket gun is the lcp2, do not love it, but can put every round it can hold through a 6"paper desert plate at ten yards. Carry the 1911 in a shoulder holster out in the open, people are eyeing that while i've got both hands in my pockets with the lcp2 already aimed at them in my right hand.

I have a question. I went through every one of the classy pages, and the "news" pages. It was only blogs that covered the "speech" as loosely as you can call Biden talking as "speech"

The "news" pages AGAIN don't care about NEW information, they all have think pieces demonstrating their smarts, and creative writing degree's under the guise of "analysis" of something I don't care about. Meanwhile, The President of The United States of America just insulted our only reliable middle east ally, called republicans bigots who suffer fear of people who want us dead, and demanded that he's protecting freedom and peace by funding Hamas, and Ukrainian nazis.

And I am not at all surprised at the lefts malice, or the "news's" arrogance, and indifference.

I keep Vienna sausages in the car kit, I used to have a girlfriend who got crabby when she was hungry and would eat those and crackers to tide her over, It is just that she thought the juice in them was disgusting, and she hated that I would drink it.
It turned into a demand that I dump it out instead, so I walked to the rear of the car "to dump it where we wouldn't step in it" and drank it instead. I brought the drained can back to her and she accused me of drinking it. . Which I copped ot, why not?

341 The Kid is dealing with a bunch of stuff from Old Family that haven't talked to me in 30+years, but now, oh NOW, they have some interest in her. She asked me about it and I told her, I have no interest in these people at all.
She is now not exactly grateful that I'm such an asshole but I think she's getting to comprehend why I am the way I am concerning 'family'. The Kid asked me, "What should I do about belongings supposedly belonging to you?"
Me: "I don't want them. If you want them, that is up to you."

That episode gives me the warm fuzzies every time. The little girl comes up with a trick to make them have to take her back with Ol' Ben.

Previously, he explained to her how he was really from another plant, and she said "I knew it!", and "I'll be you really look icky". She wanted to see what he really looked like but he wouldn't do it.

And then they leave, and Rod Sirling shows us what Ol' Ben really looks like, a dashing young man, and tells us that in a few years, the young girl will be an honest to goodness Queen, in the Twilight Zone.

2023 has turned out to be bad year, at least for the paternal side of the fambly here. I lost other 1st cousin last night. She was 92. Yep, I have a first cousin who is 92, and I'm 56. When she was born to my father's older sister, he was just 2 - 3 years old. She wouldn't been 93 in just a little bit.

Anyway, she fell and broke her hip. Pretty bad. EMS and the cops had to break the door down to get to her. Her younger brother was on the way with a key, but it would've taken too long.

After joint replacement surgery, she developed A-fib. They weren't too worried, but put her a unit to carefully monitor. Last night, her brother left about 6PM, and soon thereafter, she coded, went into cardiac arrest, and they couldn't revive her. She was "no heroic measures".

They think it was a blood clot.

Fair enough. I have done a LOT of research into this subject and it is apparent, yet no-one will discuss it, that the political Jewish outfits turned Socialist back sometime in the mid-1800s and have never turned back. By Socialist there are distinctions and unless you are embedded in that discussion it makes no sense at all. The Jewish political movement, as distinct from the religious movement, was Utopian. It remains so.
The Jewish/Zionist impulse truly believes that human violence is aberrant and can be cured.
This is, to me, clearly nonsense. Jews of this belief find violence directed at them shocking and 'unimaginable', which is nonsense. They throw away their guns and declare those killing them 'primitive' and 'beyond The Law' when no human simian recognizes the law unless forced to.
I lose patience with legalistic Jews.

Not that you have boobs, of course. Just general advice.

Speaking of cousins, I was talking to another one, who lives in Canada now, married some Canadian gal, who inherited her parents property around Ottawa, and that's where they live.

We got to talking about the Significance of the Passage of (astronomical) time, and I got jealous. He's been into amateur astronomy and star gazing since he was a kid, and is now in his 70s.

Well, he can go out at night, glance in the sky and tell you what time it is to 15 minutes accuracy. He looks for Polaris, aligns himself accordingly, then the sky above him forms a mental image of the hands of a clock that tell him local sidereal time instantly.

A quick mental calculation of what day of the tropical year it is, and he can tell you local solar time to 15 minutes.

Fuck the ring, if you are willing to do a for-real fitting and pay for it, then you are a winner. That fitting was EXPENSIVE, holy hell. But ever after I see so many women wearing bad brassieres. Just awful why would anyone wear that.

Now, in daylight, he's lost, can't see no stars then. Also, for solar time, not the conundrum of need to know what time is to tell what time it is. But you only need to know the day, a very course time, to get it down further.

I asked to speculate if was held hostage for a while, and didn't have any idea what day of the year it was, could he figure it out, and by just eyeballing, no precision instruments.

He probably could, but it would take several nights of eyeballing to get it figured out.

Don't remember their name, but after I went off to college -- leaving my girlfriend behind -- I heard or read some ad for some mail-order sexy lingerie company that would send a different pair of bra & pantie monthly to your loved one.

Signed up for a year's worth ... and of course, the girlfriend hated it. And this was back when I didn't even have money to make long-distance phone calls ...

Oh, and note that is 15 minute eyeball accuracy would be a huge error in longitude. You need the precision instruments to get that to needed accuracy.

The craziest thing I've ever done was in the middle of Wyoming at night. I stopped my rental car and turned everything off, and laid in the middle of the road for almost an hour. There was no light pollution, nothing. It was a huge bowl above me. After a time I sort-of flew off the face of Earth and entered into the Stars, it's hard to explain. I wasn't drunk or high, it was just... they took me upwards. I had to work very hard to come back.
I don't think I've ever been the same, afterwards.

I had one of those sky experiences maybe 15 years ago or so. Most of the time, day or night, the sky is 2D. Just a backdrop.

Well, one winter night, somehow, full Moon. I sort of lay back. There were clouds of various kinds at different altitudes.

The effect was to given me a true 3D sense, a sense of depth perception looking at the sky. I could sense that depth, that height.

I became aware that the Moon was Very Far Away relative to my local sense of distance, and could sense the clouds at different heights.

It gave me a sense of small I was relative that.

424 The Wyoming thing related to a bit I had in the Balkans, where I just rolled over and looked at the stars, and realized that if I, LN, was on my front porch back in safe United States, nobody would be trying to kill each other and life would be utterly different and how did I get shot in the head anyway.
That thought haunts me every day and every night.
Seeing the same stars, but such different occurrences. What made the difference? Fate? The rotation of the Earth?
I did a piece partly about that in 'Let Us Now Be Famous Men'.

My experience did not make me feel small, it felt like launching into Space. That, I was a part of it all. It's hard to explain. My colleague, worked with NASA, constantly talks about 'going into Space' and honestly I kind of feel sorry for him. He's never had the experience that I did. That feeling. He has very clearly never had it, and he's striving for something I've had and he can't touch. And he can't understand.

427 “Mountains or forests sometimes have an attractive or friendly quality—you can almost see yourself staying there indefinitely. But sometimes it’s the opposite: the mountains seem sullen and savage. It’s a strange thing! This feeling isn’t individual or subjective; it’s always the same for everyone in the group. This is something I have verified many times and am always spot on, and this case was no different. There was something depressing about this place, something eerie and unpleasant, and everyone could feel it.”

I've experienced that "depth perception" only that one time. Never since.

I think it had to do with just a whole bunch of variables were just right, the moon light hitting clouds at different altitudes that kicked in the brain's machinery of depth perception.

The mountains of Hokkaido Japan in January, they are not inspiring. They are dark and filled with Death. The Kid on that trip to Japan insisted on taking a local bus that took almost 2 hours to an Ainu Cultural Center off in the middle of fucking No-Where and it was fucking terrifying. The mountains did not inspire they loomed, and on the way there we encountered feral cats who snarled at us, furry and bulky like bears. Those mountains are littered with the bones of the excommunicated, the cast out, the careless, and the just plain unlucky.
Those mountains say, "Your grandparents fed on the bark of my trees."

Oh, an re my cousin's eyeballing. He could probably, with a few days of night time eyeballing figure out where the sun was relative to the equinox, but that would be a local reference only.

That is, he could only determine local solar time. He'd have no idea where he was, longitude wise relative to the prime meridian.

He'd get his latitude pretty good, but not longitude.

431 Though I was on the outskirts of a city, it was a third world city in Africa, so electricity was a theory. One night, I went to the top of the nice villa we were staying/working in too mess around with an antenna (my USAF days). Slightly north of the equator, the stars in different locations. I wish I had a star map with me. Would have helped. I'm pretty sure I saw the Southern Cross. Some light pollution but high enough up from the city that the night sky was still pretty clear. Also, the African power grid was Queen Sheba Era.

432 I liked the remote place The Kid took me to in Japan, there is a Mister Donut at the one place to shop and an old-fashioned shopping mall.
I liked that and the staff knew me within 2 days. It helps that I'm past 50-ish and age is a Thing in Asian culture. But those mountains, they are not inspiring. They just say, "You come up in here, you ain't comin' out." It explains a lot about the communal culture of Japan. Try to do that alone in those mountains, you won't last long unless you are some kind of special which most are not.

433 Morning, fellow insomaniacals! 'Tis Friday at last. I've a busy Saturday, with the meeting in the afternoon of the renters' rights group that is drumming up resistance to the complex where I live. There is already at least one lawsuit against the place, I understand. Though when I emailed the group I didn't hear back. I hope this won't be a waste of time.

Otherwise, I've changed my diet and some of my habits thanks to my high A1C number (just tipped over the line to diabetic, it seems). I'm not due to meet with my doctor for about ten days. But I'm moving now to cut out cookies and chips, etc., and replace them with something healthier.

434 Where The Kid took me, 'professional bear hunter' is a real career. I was a bit taken aback, but it is. There is a huge JSDF presence there (also Hokkaido was not bombed during WWII, hardly at all, a few token trips) and the military doesn't hunt so 'professional bear hunter' is a genuine career. Also deer hunting is a big deal, it's like the Wisconsin of Japan.

437 Lol at the strange, dark and eerie japanese mountains and then the stark artificial lighting of Mr. Donut.

Along the sierra-cascade crest, where the crowded forest ends, and the high sage desert begins - that transition point - is jarring and weird no matter how many times I pass through it. Nothing fabulously strange, just weird.

439 The Kid stayed home one day, watching Gamera movies on TV so I went out into Sapporo and on the way back I decided to slowly walk the 2 miles back to the resort. This was a massive mistake. I got caught in an absolutely impenetrable snowstorm and, do not tell The Kid this, I got lost in a public park and was lucky to find my way out. I ended up going to a local police station where they helped me out.
I covered it up by buying food at supermarket when I was within a block of the place but that was really frightening. The snow was so dense there was no cell phone service.
Japanese police are quite nice to idiots like me. That scared the shit out of me, I didn't try that again.

Looms. Many of us thought they would go in within 48 hours of the attack, an attack that took years of planning.

I think the loom is off the rose. It ain't gonna happen. The propaganda machine is in full-throated scream mode and will wear away what slim support there is, and the Israelis will gain full pariahship and, all alone, will find themselves unable to proceed.
