Even CNN is on Donkey-Chompers' (probably fake) tits about her demand for a ceasefire... after Hamas murdered 1000 Israelis (and 13+ Americans) and still holds 250+ hostages.
AOC said that Israel had a "right to self-defense" -- but then proceeded to completely cut that down, blathering about collective punishment and saying we have to think about "what our goal is." Phillip noted Israel's goal is to take out the terrorists. It's a simple concept. But AOC, in typical leftist response, doesn't seem to want Israel to deal with the terrorists. Phillip kept pressing AOC as to how Israel is supposed to take out the terrorists if they don't respond, other than to "go in there and take them on directly." Israel has tried reasoning and everything in the past. Hamas still wants to kill them all and wipe them off the planet.I don't want to belabor the point, but she sounds just like Tucker Carlson. Either they're both wrong, or they're both right. It can't be that Tucker Carlson is smart and wise when he says this kind of stuff, while she's just an America-hating idiot when she says basically the same thing.
Yet what does AOC do? Accuse Israel of "indiscriminate attack." I've never seen anything in a war like Israel's care for civilians. They "roof knock" to warn civilians to get out. They told civilians to evacuate the area in advance of a possible ground invasion. Hamas told them to stay and continue to be human shields. Yet, AOC continues this nonsensical response and wants to completely hamstring the rules of engagement. And the problem is we're seeing some of this same thing from the Biden team as well, with the focus seemingly being on aid and the people of Gaza, not getting the hostages back and taking out the terrorists who just killed Israelis and Americans.

They use that cudgel extremely effectively and have for a long time (including against US forces). I just checked my latest lab results prior to seeing my doctor in about ten days. Looks like I've tipped over into diabetic territory! A1C of 6.5. Can we all agree that virtually any conflict carries the risk of sparking off a larger war? Which is pretty much true of every war ever.
For example, WWI was a political assassination, WWII was some land grabs by the Axis powers (and USSR). But it's true in every war I can think of. Vietnam was the US sending some advisors to help the French deal with their uppity colony getting a bit commie. Etc. etc.
We're so cavalier now about war, likely because we are so removed from the actual violence and cost of the war, and we're fed propaganda 24/7 in favor of war.

I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes in 2012. At first, I did a good job at keeping it under control with diet and exercise. Then I lost control, and my doc put me on metformin. I lost a whole bunch of weight -- nearly 50 pounds, and went down two waist sizes. But it still wasn't under control, so now I take glimiperide as well.
I used to be religious about taking my blood sugar, but I seldom do it now, as I've gotten complacent and, frankly, more than a little pissed off with my body for still being diabetic despite all that weight loss. Maybe it's booze, but I'm not giving up no matter what the doc says.

Frankly, I would leave it to Israel to do whatever it needs to do to secure Gaza and have the US stay out of it. The cold war math no longer applies. For the longest time, you could take for granted the *ability* for the countries in question to destroy the world, but not the *desire* to do so. All of the structure was put around controlling desire - MAD and the like.
Now, that is all different. The *desire* is not question - places like Iran do want to use nuclear weapons and will at the first opportunity - but the ability to do so is. The entire intelligence and deterrence complexes were all tuned to gauging and managing desire or probability. It now has to pivot - and should have at least a decade ago and to some degree has (but not enough) - to gauging and managing capability.

I can list the provocations after the USSR passed away--US--Serbia-Kosovo, Bombing the Chinese embassy in Serbia, Syria, US, and the Muslim brotherhood takedown of a Russian client state. Taking down Saddam was another Russian client state and so on. That leaves out actions within the Russian perimeter as well like Georgia where GWB put US planes on the ground there and dared Putin to attack them during the waning days of the Bush administration.
Russians and Chinese have done the same at a low level---the GWB spy plane fiasco in 2001, taking convoys of materials out of Saddam's Iraq and trying to break the sanctions on him, etc. etc.

What I am saying is that I don't buy for a moment that anything Nicki Haley says about Iran is dangerous or threatens a genuine possibility of war. It's not a serious position.

Try eliminating rice and flour (and any other processed foods) for 30 days, see if it helps.
If it DOES help (and I suspect it will), then you can decide if living without bread is worth staying off meds or injectable insulin.
And what Jordan said, anything with -ose in it. Look at labels for those hidden carbs. If you count your carbs, count GROSS not NET.

Haley isn't exactly alone in advocating for war against Iran. If Trump weren't the likely candidate there's a good shot it'd be part of the current R platform.
The US isn't presently in a good position for that. It would've been much more viable a couple decades ago and a lot less likely to bring in Iran and China.

The US has always favored intel from technical means over than of human intel. Essentially we don't have the means and ability much to actually gauge willingness to use nukes or launch wars as we are perpetually surprised by events.
What you are saying is what the intel community wants to believe but in reality will result in nukes going off in American cities in the not to distant future after an intel failure.
The whole nuclear non proliferation movement is essentially dead because you cannot prevent export of knowledge and technology over time and those that played along like Qaddafi get offed. So you get the Pakis to ofset the Indians with Chinese help and so on.

LOL. Is that what they call them? There seems to be an area of this gym devoted to the nastiest of exercise equipment. The heavy bag is there, the ropes. I picked the slightly skinnier pair of ropes and looked at the clock. Pretty much same as pounding the heavy bag. Two minutes and you wanna die.
