Fall calving/lambing/whatever it's called when goats give birth seems to be the new hotness right now in ranching. The guys at the ranch next to my uncle's have been switching over to it for the last couple years.
It has the advantage over spring calving that you aren't out at o'dark 30 looking for calves in the pens before they freeze in the northern winter.
The disadvantage is you then have to feed the calves over the winter.

Does this mean you live somewhere with actual seasons?
From what I understand about cattle the advantage of fall-born calves is that growing during the cold season means much lower parasite loads. I assume the same is true for goats. If they're dairy goats, the owners may want to dry off the mamas who kidded in the spring.

It is actually very entertaining, and I recommend it. If you are a D&D purist it probably doesn't work, but I could see nods to the game and lore, if not exactly explicit, and there are some absolutely hilarious set-pieces.

-The Impossibly Noble Black Guy as a send-up
-The Owl-Bear. WTF?
I found it highly entertaining and recommend it. Chris Pine is a riot. And that cameo from The Big Star is truly funny.

Eventually we worked our way past padded rebar and survey stakes into BB guns and real swords. Paintball replaced BB guns (thank God, I have more than one friend with a BB behind his eye) but real swords we kept at, making armor and stuff to protect ourselves.

I took a friend to the hospital because he took an arrow to the head.
I blew out my shoulder. Have broken my nose twice.
We made the local gang list at the sheriffs dept. We were just a bunch of D&D dorks just trying to kill each other, not hurt each other.

My shooting club's indoor range was built sometime in maybe the mid-1950s, as a bullseye type thing with angled soft steel plates at one end for .38 wadcutters and maybe .45 ACP FMJ at what not even 800fps, and it's been a monumental hassle to try to keep people from shooting up the back plates.
I go in the middle of the night and do some shooting and then sweep up and the concrete floor is ALWAYS covered with jagged shards of copper jackets, all over the place. I do not like high-velocity HPs, they do not always do what they are advertised as doing and when they fragment it's like razor wire flying around at supersonic speeds.

One buddy, we had to use an old speaker magnet to trace it up through his throat, it was just under the skin and we couldn't see it. He could feel it but we got one of those old huge speaker magnets and put it on his throat and after about 30 minutes magnetized it out of the hole where it went in. He was kind of nervous there for a while, he might have to fess up and be taken to the doctor.

This is a DISASTER of major, major, MAJOR proportions, and Israel and the IDF will be very fortunate to survive it and stave off WWIII.

Every day is a little better than the one before. Still have times where I miss him a bit more than others, but that's part of losing someone.
