The Wealthy Liberal Huntsman Family Closes Its Checkbook on the University of Pennsylvania, Citing Anti-Semitism
Update: Les Wexner Closes Checkbook to Harvard

Could this be the start of the long prayed-for rollback of the radical left?

John Huntsman was a liberal fake Republican who left the party to join the Obama Administration. His father pushed the hoax that Mitt Romney hadn't paid taxes in ten years -- he's the "source" for this lie, then pushed by Harry Reid.

So this is a family of leftwing c*cksuckers.

But even leftwing c*cksuckers are beginning to find the radical left too egregious to tolerate.

The Huntsman family halted donations to the University of Pennsylvania over its response to Hamas' terrorist attacks.

The family, which has donated tens of millions to Penn, is the latest to "close its checkbook."

Tensions have spilled over, as alumni and employers react to colleges' and students' response to the war.

The Huntsman family has halted donations to the University of Pennsylvania due to its response to Hamas' terrorist attacks on Israel and the resulting war. It's the latest indication of the growing friction between elite colleges and their rich alumni over the conflict.

Jon Huntsman Jr. -- the former governor of Utah and US ambassador to China, Russia, and Singapore -- penned a letter to Penn's president Elizabeth Magill, alerting her of the Huntsman Foundation's decision.

"The University's silence in the face of reprehensible and historic Hamas evil against the people of Israel (when the only response should be outright condemnation) is a new low. Silence is antisemitism, and antisemitism is hate, the very thing higher ed was built to obviate," he wrote in the letter, which was published by the student newspaper. "Consequently, Huntsman Foundation will close its checkbook on all future giving to Penn."

The Huntsman family, which includes three generations of Penn graduates, has donated tens of millions of dollars to the school over the past three decades, including a $10 million gift in 1997 and a $40 million gift to its business school, Wharton, in 1998. The family has donated at least $25,000 annually to Wharton in recent years.

The late Jon Huntsman Sr. attended Wharton on scholarship and went on to become the billionaire CEO of chemical giant Huntsman Corp. Huntsman Jr. has had two stints on Penn's board of trustees.

This rebuke of the left is, unfortunately, not due to, say, the college's support of censorship and bullying of college students, or embrace of radical gender theory, or single-minded commitment to indoctrinating cadres for the violent rebellion against their fellow US citizens.

That was just fine, according to the Huntsman family. It's about neocon/neoliberal support for Israel.

I don't mean that only neocons support Israel --conservatives do too. I just mean this break is not over freedom of speech, which neocons have been happy to limit and suppress in order to ingratiate themselves with their new allies on the hard left. The break is over one of the neocon agenda items that they've decided not to renounce to ingratiate themselves to the left.

So this isn't exactly a repudiation of the left. More of a warning to the left that they have to accommodate their treacherous new neocon allies.

Still, any break in the neocon-left alliance helps us, and any pushback against this poisonous anti-american, anti-human ideology helps us.

And if they can push out these pro-terrorist university bureaucrats -- great! Pretty sure that these people support the throttling of conservative speech. All leftists (including their neocon allies) do. So the cause of liberty is advanced inadvertently.

Update: Our spy at Democrat Underground reports:

Les Wexner pills funding from Harvard. Billionaire former Victoria's Secret CEO pulls funding from Harvard, accusing the school of 'dismal failure' to take a stand for Israel.

Is that really what he said? Or are the DUmmies changing his words?

I bet he said they were a "dismal failure" at taking a stand against murder and rape.

So I just looked it up: yes, I was right, he wants a stand against barbaric murder, not "for Israel."

The DUmmies like like leftists always lie.

Judah Ari Gross

@JudahAriGross

BIG NEWS:

The Wexner Foundation announces that it is cutting ties with @Harvard
over "the dismal failure of Harvard's leadership to take a clear and unequivocal stand against the barbaric murders of innocent Israeli civilians by terrorists last Saturday."

I will care about the minutiae of free speech absolutism on college campuses when presidents of universities tell the gay rights communities on campus to pound sand when a Christian group tries to form up.

Until then, the rule on campus is enforced speech, and I will just enjoy the left enforcing speech upon itself as it continues to drive away conservative young people who will go to alternatives like community college or just bypass higher education completely by entering a trade.

72 Hamas and the Palestinians have been liberals cause celebre for years. They encouraged them. One of the first things Biden did was restore the funding that Trump cut off. Then when their proxies go on a rampage, murdering people in the most hideous ways, raping women, burning people to death, shooting youths at a concert like it's duck season with no bag limit and kidnapping people to use their asses like a fun park, all of a sudden people like Huntsman are like, "maybe this was a bad idea". Ya think, you dick juggling dunce?

73 >>>This rebuke of the left is, unfortunately, not due to, say, the college's support of censorship and bullying of college students, and embrace of radical gender theory, and commitment to indoctrinating cadres for the violent rebellion against their fellow US citizens.

Yeah, exactly.

These big donors had no problem with all the anti-white hatred, or the trans stuff, or the eradication of anything to the right of the far left of the democrat party.

They only now have a problem that they are worried popular backlash in the US might interfere with their military industrial complex money.

Nothing to do with ideology.

GOPe probably thinks they can use it to primary the freedom caucus. Completely oblivious to the fact that it's them that will be primaried.
Sure a couple will hold on because they will pull the usual incumbent tricks like flooding the primary to dilute the vote against them... but not everyone will make it.

There had been a question as to whether Democrats would supply just enough votes for the bill to pass to avoid a default or if they would come out in force in support of Biden. Ultimately, Democrats played a larger role than Republicans in its passage: 165 Democrats joined 149 Republicans to approve the bill."

Plus, the Palis gave rich Eurotrash the opportunity to go to war, without the risk. In the 70s-80s, supposedly the PLO had a brisk business going in taking Eurotrash into Beirut, putting them in a high-rise building on the mohammedan side of the Green Line with a sniper rifle, and letting them take pot-shots at anyone moving on the Christian side. Man, woman or child, armed or unarmed.

204 150 Wasn't Wexner one of Epstein's money men?
Posted by: Smell the Glove at October 17, 2023 01:37 PM (yWaEX)

To put it lightly.

According to one of the girls who used to work for Epstein (not as a sex slave, she was hired as an interior designer, and I believe Epstein ended up molesting her little sister or something), both Epstein and Wexner bragged about / threatened people by saying they were members of Mossad and were incredibly powerful. She heavily insinuated that Epstein reported to Wexner.

But, yes, Wexner gifted Epstein his house in NYC. Which is the largest single family dwelling in the city. Very nice gift.

It appears that Epstein's entire financial empire was actually just managing Wexner's money. And there are persistent rumors that Ghislaine Maxwell's fathers' money that he stole from the union in the UK before he fell off his boat and died was actually the seed money / bulk of Wexner's wealth in the US. Lots of long standing Wexner / Maxwell connections going back decades. Just a rumor, obviously, but no one will ever investigate any of that, so I guess we'll never know.

Harvard has had grade inflation issues ever since the draft. There was a provision that if you were a student with a certain gpa, you were safe from the draft. Harvard and other schools then gave higher grades to students to protect them.

That had a snowball effect that is still ongoing. Basically, once you're in, you're going to graduate with at least a C gpa.

Not that long ago, Harvard grad schools were still considered pretty good, but it seems like the woke mind virus has holed that status in recent years.

272 "The Ivies have massive endowments and can survive donor threats without breaking a sweat."

The donors are where they get the endowments. Universities spend lots of time and money buttering up current donors and soliciting new ones.

Not all endowments can be used for any random purpose.

Gifts to a university frequently have a lot of conditions attached. Like "This endowment is to be used only for the purposes of granting scholarships to left-handed descendants of Irishmen who immigrated between 1890 and 1914."

And yes, they do get that specific.

Which doesn't prevent universities from laundering money out of them, but it does make it a little more difficult, especially when you have to report usage back to the donor.

General purpose endowments are what universities use to pay for programs and events and buildings and people and research that the state boards of education haven't or won't allocate funding for.

Donor are very important to universities, and losing the big ones - especially the big consistent ones - hurts them.

You know, I think I remember reading that in one of the car model magazines of the time -- that Right Guard spray worked well for that. Never tried it on my cars; I wanted them glossy. Because, despite the fact that they handle the money that the student borrows and the student doesn't see any of it until his tuition is paid, the colleges aren't actually party to the loan.

The loan is entirely and agreement between the student and the lender, usually the Feds.

The university gets to handle it first so that some 18 year old doesn't take out a $28,000 per semester educational loan and immediately spend it on hookers and a new truck, and not on school at all.

...it seems as though many of his longtime critics are going to do what they’ve always done: fall in line while bitching privately about the hard right’s antics. But if things do fall apart today, it will be that dynamic driving the backlash — you either stand up to minority-of-the-majority rule now, or never.

...why did we expect that the mythical Normie Caucus would rise up, find its rumored moral courage, and at long last stand athwart the GOP’s crazy and say, “Stop”? Why did anybody think that this time would be different?

This is, after all, a party that is apparently about to renominate Trump for the presidency. For many in the GOP, the greater crazy trumped the lesser crazy. Why, after all, worry about running under the deeply deplorable and absurd Jordan, when you will already be on the ballot with the twice-impeached, quadruply indicted Trump?

The Soviets supported the establishment of Israel in the UN because they figured that the Jews were heavily socialist, and hence the Soviets would gain influence in the area.

When despite this Israel turned toward the US, the Soviets were pissed, and then began supporting the Arabs. I'm virtually certain that out of spite they put out the word to their acolytes here to trash Jews and Israel.

415 do you think this guy reacted the same way to the stories about Gosnell's house of horrors?

Of course not. He probably supports abortion and was perturbed that it went a bit too far.

As you say, evil is evil. But that was one man (albeit supported at least tacitly by an organization). The pallies' goal is genocide, and that is supported by perhaps a billion people.

417 Suggestion for Trump or DeSantis: Agree to student loan forgiveness. Except the debt must be paid back by the endowments of private colleges.

I would allow it to be banko'd but in return the debtor has to take zero withholding for 8 years on single filing taxes, and the refund is to be garnished to be paid against the debt.
And all future federal college loans ever issued ever for ever are to be co-signed by the universities.

418 It's this simple: an asshole like Huntsman can turn a blind eye to the horror his money buys, most of the time. He never visits an inner city, or a gender clinic where they drug and mutilate kids, or anything gross like that.

Hamas doesn't let him look away. Hamas throws that baby's bloodsoaked clothes in his face, and laughs about it.

Then he's stuck with it. He can't unsee it. He doesn't want to hurt his team, so he'd rather just let it go down the memory hole. But they won't let it go away. The Monster Babies he pays for keep screaming "gas the Jews!"

That makes him look and feel bad for all that money he threw at these Monster Babies. So he does this to signal to other French Laundry patrons that he's good people, not garbage people. It's the perfume of Arabia that washes the stain from his wan little hand.

419 Polli! The situation broke my resolution to avoid news. I needed my morons to help me deal with my grief and rage.

How are you?

This is completely correct. Full explanation, no more to it than this. The decrepit Left demonized Israel to please Moscow, and their Monster Babies soaked it up, and hate Israel with little or no understanding of why they do.

Doing well. I can't remember, did you know I got remarried? To Inspector Cussword, long time Horde commenter.

How has life been treating you and yours?

422 I'm not sure this matters to Harvard. The endowment is about $50 billion. Alumni withdrawing funds is no longer a deterrent, and that's why a few of these schools have taken out considering legacies. Because they don't need alumni support anymore. Maybe not all are like this but certainly Harvard is.

425 I think most of the commentators are not looking at the religious angle for Huntsman. He's a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and apparently a good one.

One of the cardinal tenets of the faith is that the Jews are Gods's chosen, and they believe they are adopted into Abraham's family. And they believe that ultimately the entire world will be against the Jews and Israel at the battle of Armageddon... and if you don't want to be on the funeral pyre when Jesus comes to save His people, you'd best not be fighting against the Jews.

In short, supporting Hamas is complete non starter for typically reliably leftists members of the Church like Huntsman, Romney and if Harry Reid were alive today, him as well. I actually think Reid would have been more pro Israel than Schumer, a Jew is acting right now.
