60 Minutes Hit By Sex Scandal Allegations, Because This Week Just Wasn't Disgusting Enough Already
You may remember -- or you may have suppressed memories of -- 60 Minutes having to shell out $5 million to pay off a sexual assault victim of the show's creator.
Not sexual harassment, sexual assault.An internal investigation of CBS, according to a bombshell report Wednesday, has turned up more allegations of sexual assault from decades ago, as well as a payoff of more than $5 million to the alleged victim of a venerable journalist who died in 2009. According to The New York Times, a former CBS employee said that "60 Minutes" executive producer Don Hewitt, who created the program in 1968 and produced it for 36 years, sexually assaulted her multiple times and destroyed her career. CBS has paid her for more than 20 years to keep her silent -- including as recently as this year, the report said. The settlement, reached in the 1990s, has grown to more than $5 million. CBS didn't return Fox News' email requests for comment.And $5 million is a lot more than a nuisance payment. Also, Steve Kroft got caught cheating on his wife by swilling champage out of his lover's butt.
Kroft was getting his kink on with the aid of Viagra and racy text messages -- including one in which he told his lover he "would rather be eating your pudding," according to a new report from the National Enquirer, which hits newsstands Wednesday. The married CBS newsman -- who once famously confronted Bill Clinton over the then-Arkansas governor's rumored womanizing -- convinced Harvard-educated Lisan Goines that he was trapped in a sexless marriage with his wife, author and fellow journalist Jennet Conant, the Enquirer reports. The pair then launched into a three-year affair -- the details of which would never get past the censors on Kroft's own award-winning show. In one sexting session, Kroft allegedly cooed to Goines, "Miss you and all that goes with it. Especially my favorite tastes and colors ... pink and brown."What a sexy, seductive rap this guy has.

I can tell you why. Because antibiotics are only used for a week or two. They either clear up the bacterial infection, or they don't, and another antibiotic has to be tried. Either way, the sales are not great enough to justify the expense of advertisements.
Notice that everything pharma DOES advertise has to be taken chronically, if not indefinitely.

WASHINGTON (DOJ) – An IRS contractor, Charles Littlejohn, 38, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty today to disclosing tax return information without authorization.
According to court documents, Littlejohn, while working at the IRS as a government contractor, stole tax return information associated with a high-ranking government official (Public Official A). Littlejohn accessed tax returns associated with Public Official A – and related individuals and entities – on an IRS database after using broad search parameters designed to conceal the true purpose of his queries. He then evaded IRS protocols established to detect and prevent large downloads or uploads from IRS devices or systems. Littlejohn then saved the tax returns to multiple personal storage devices, including an iPod, before contacting News Organization 1. Between around August 2019 and October 2019, Littlejohn provided News Organization 1 with the tax return information associated with Public Official A. Littlejohn then stole additional tax return information related to Public Official A and provided it to...

Nope. A lot of the drugs for cancer, heart disease, lipid control, etc. are of recent vintage, when previously there were few or no drugs available for those things (nitrogen mustard was used for cancer /shudder).
New antibiotics have to be generated all the time because bacteria quickly develop resistance to the old ones (especially when they're misused; vagrants go off their meds as soon they start feeling better, thereby just providing a bit of selection pressure on the bugs instead of suppressing them for long enough that the immune system can wipe them out (most antibiotics are bacteriostatic, not bactericidal).
The paucity of new antibiotics is a real problem, which is why last-resort drugs such as vancomycin are generally not used unless absolutely necessary. The problem? As mentioned above, antibiotics are generally only prescribed for a week or two, so there's not much money in them, so it's difficult to cover the several hundred million dollars in sunk R&D costs.

I am happy if there are legit meds helping people and improving their lives and saving them that I just simply don’t know about. It seems the ones I always hear about that are actually effective war made about 50 years ago.
