Went in for my annual echocardiogram today. The ticker is ticking nicely, no issues. My aorta swelling is stable (and slight), which is good. I asked about my carotid, since stroke runs in the family. Doc said they looked last year, found nothing and that I'm not scheduled to have it looked at until 2025, but that they could look again next year.

140 Daughter will be graduating this winter from college with her BS in Chem Engineering. Got an offer from a company with starting salary in the 80-90K/year range. That's almost what I make lol. She worked her butt off to get a tough degree, and with no debt, so I'm pretty proud of her.

She's a casual liberal, as in She doesn't think much about politics, and just kind of rolls with it because that's what most of the people around her do. Hopefully, with her solid work ethic and baseline success, she'll start to see the societal leaches for what they are are open her eyes a bit!

Not sure where she ranked. It's a big corporation, so I think it's a pretty formulaic offer for new grads. It's great pay (for the midwest especially), and she's just happy to have something decent lined up for after graduation. She can stress a bit with multiple computing deadlines, so getting this big one out of the way is a great relief to her.
