TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A recent Make-A-Wish visit by members of the Insane Clown Posse, to survivors of what the media is calling “The Great Tallahassee Airshow Disaster,” left the city’s General Hospital’s intensive care unit an absolute biome of infectious diseases, which had to be re-sterilized, sources who are normally used to this kind of thing confirmed. “After that terrible accident, we really thought the survivors could use some cheering up — and who would be better to cheer up some newly limbless Flordians than ICP!” explained attending physician Gloria Kerwald. “But between the Faygo spray, grease paint smears and near-solid smog of fecal mist those guys swarmed through here with, it may just be easier to tear the whole building down and rebuild from scratch. If anything it’d be cheaper than the alternative.” Insane Clown Posse member Violent J commented on the recent visit, which has reportedly left the local hospital’s ICU “in a state so foul it would make God himself want to sterilize heaven out of pure fear.” How to destroy your friends and family in 4 popular board games Tonight's ONT has been brought to you by October Eve Non-sense. another Saturday Night Joke: A Texas Aggie and his pal are driving along the highway near College Station, moving along pretty fast. Suddenly they see the dreaded flashing lights behind them, and it's a state trooper. The Aggie says "oh hell", but his friend says "oh it'll be alright. So the trooper gets out of his car, but instead of pulling out his book, he undoes his belt, unbuttons his pants and lowers his zipper. As he starts to walk toward the car, the Aggie says "I knew it! I knew it! Here comes that damn Breathalyzer test again!"

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. Second is Helium, which is chemically inert (by product of hydrogen fusion). Carbon and Oxygen are also among the most abundant in the universe. It is not random chance that we are carbon-based life forms; it is a strong statistical likelihood. We also incorporate a lot of nitrogen, phosphorous and a few other elements. And water. Silicon based life forms (which have been speculated about) could not exist in an oxidizing atmosphere, they would exhale silicon dioxide (sand). They would have to live in a reducing atmosphere, such as a methane atmosphere, and might exhale a gas, such as silane (which burns in oxygen). Silicon based life forms are fun for speculation, but not very likely in the real universe...possible, but unlikely. Never say never, but it would be really an odd situation. It means to go, to go habitually, or to go to a specific place for a specific purpose -- as in my sample sentence above. "To return" is an obsolete meaning of "to repair."

RESEARCHERS have claimed that alien life could evolve from elements different from what we're used to.
The findings were presented in a new study published in the Journal of American Chemical Society. In one of Vonnegut's books, he has an alien that communicates by tap dancing and farting. Point being that theoretically if there are aliens, theoretically they could be anything. Wonder how much money went into giving researchers comfortable middle class lives so they can come up with this juvenile twaddle that is less intellectual than 50 year old science fiction Posted by: Azjaeger at September 30, 2023 11:54 PM (bOK50) 218

I'm watching Chris Williams interview Michael Malice who wrote a book on the cold war, I guess targeted at Millennials.
Early on he remarks that it is amazing that the Cold War and the Soviet Union were such fundamentally important parts of the last 100 years of world history and a story of terrible atrocities but it is a real mystery why no one talks about it any more. Later on he mentions reading some non-Soviet aligned leftists noting that their brethren where willing to let the Soviet Union by a horrible experiment because if it worked out it would justify their views on socialism, he doesn't mention it specifically, but this is the same idea as "have to break a few eggs to make an omelet". But...notice Malice can't then take this back to the original point. Why doesn't the western media talk about the cold war and the USSR? Because it is bad for their current flavor of socialism. But...notice Malice can't then take this back to the original point. Why doesn't the western media talk about the cold war and the USSR? Because it is bad for their current flavor of socialism.
Posted by: 18-1 at September 30, 2023 11:55 PM (XqcwY) I always point to this: Socialism doesn't work, even on a small scale. It was tried here before the word 'socialism' existed, it was just under a different guise. Here it was 'community'. When the Pilgrims landed off course up in Massachusetts, they were a religious community. They grew food as a community. The food was equally split at harvest. Some noticed those who didn't work as hard got the same split so, human nature being human nature, they slacked off, helping create a food shortage. Then the Natives came to their rescue and now we celebrate Thanksgiving -- all thanks to failed socialism. And that's the rest of the story. The topic of non-carbon based life forms always reminds me of Felisa Wolfe Simon.
"Wolfe-Simon led a team that discovered GFAJ-1, an extremophile bacterium that they claimed was capable of substituting arsenic for a small percentage of its phosphorus to sustain its growth, thus advancing the remarkable possibility of non-RNA/DNA-based genetics" There was a huge roll-out by NASA (who provided the funding). Big press conference with a panel of NASA scientists. In the end, it was junk science, and a huge embarrassment.
