New Mexico Empress Lujan Grisham Declares State "Health" Emergency, Unilaterally Cancels the Law Permitting Citizens to Carry Weapons

Four lawsuits have been filed. Because this is blatantly unconstitutional and tyrannical.

But The Dispatch and The Bulwark -- which claim to be fighting for liberty and ethical government -- have nothing at all to say about their Democratic allies' and donors' complete dismantling of the Constitution.

Except to say, when cornered and forced to comment: "We have to do this Because Trump. Don't you understand?! He wants to Destroy Our Precious Democracy and Subvert the Constitution! We have to beat him to the punch!"

On September 7, 2023, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an Emergency *Health* Order suspending concealed and open carry of guns in New Mexico even for concealed carry permit holders. We covered the action in New Mexico Governor Effectively Suspends 2nd Amendment Under "Emergency" Decree.
The pushback was immediate from people you would expect to push back, you know, law-abiding citizens who didn't appreciate being summarily stripped of their right to keep and bear arms as protected by the Second Amendment and numerous Supreme Court decisions.
But it also came from some unexpected sources, like California Democrat Ted Lieu -- YES, THAT TED LIEU. And Davig Hogg -- YES, THAT DAVID HOGG.

That way, they can make sure there's no precedent that says "emergencies don't void the Constitution. "

Oregon has a 90 day limit on a Governor's emergency declaration, unless the legislature votes to extend it.

The Oregon Supreme Court accepted the argument that since it was obvious that the legislature would approve an extension to the emergency declaration, there was no need to take any actual vote.

93 The Hogg statement is not surprising (or shouldn't be). If you frequent radical leftist boards - the real radical boards populated with young radicals, not the old-school ones like DU - this is a point on which they're very, very consistent.

They're uniformly opposed to any kind of gun control, especially the trans radicals. They see it as essential to their movement. They know that war is brewing - hell, many of them are consciously trying to start it - and they know that guns are essential in war. They think that to get their way, they need to be prepared to go into combat (usually urban combat) and they need to be armed for it. They view gun control as beneficial in terms of disarming their enemies, but also know that it could be used to disarm *them* and they have less than no interest in that.

Don't bet on that. Once the Hoggs of the world are no longer useful, disarmament and even outright slaughter are not at all historically unprecedented. The smarter operators on the radical prog side - and I don't think that Hogg is one of them, but he is probably being fed by them - know it. There is a reason they rigorously defend gun rights to a degree that would not be out of place in a conservative venue. The meta-argument and goals are entirely different, of course.
