According to two current and 14 former employees, The Tonight Show has been a toxic workplace for years — far outside the boundaries of what’s considered normal in the high-pressure world of late-night TV. Today I got an e-mail from the firm's project manager handling the request. The feedback from the client called it "first-class work" and in consequence they'd be sending more requests. Made my day, my week, and my month.

I was doing lots of that today. Fix four flat tires on an old Studebaker chassis that does nothing but hold an engine up off the ground. Aired one rear tire up, took the other off, found a hole in the inner tube, was patching it, when I heard an Earth-shattering Kaboom. The tire I had just aired up blew a big hole in its side wall. The tube was wrecked, too. As of an hour ago, all four tires still holding air.

Here is my anal-ysis:
I did not trust Sinclair when he said that he called the campaign to chastise them on the drug issue, and that he never brought up the sex. I suspect he was grifting and looking for a payoff. Letting them know he knew some things. Not claiming the sex since it would be unlikely the candidate had even made that public to his closest advisers. This is the only way I can resolve that odd behavior of calling to complain about their drug position.
This leads me to think Sinclair is being very careful, especially after the guy from the church was killed. He wants to let our some of the story for credibility, but not too much, and not all at once.
The other thing is, now I have no idea how gay sex works (what the f--- are those harnesses for?) but it seems no politician would prefer what they describe over just picking up a woman or pro. Not unless he was receiving.

Mostly, I never hear any feedback at all. So hearing something not only so positive for myself but promising more work for the firm is especially gratifying.

I'm very pleased to say my ginger came through the operation just fine. She's in rehab now for (I think) 6 weeks. We (kids and I) were able to locate a rehab center about 3 miles from us.
This place has a good reputation--we'll see, but that is a great start, almost like an apology for the setback suffered.

What would really be fun would be the hockey players going after the activists. Years ago in Muskegon, Michigan a brawl broke out where hockey players went into the stands to fight with attendees. As I recall, it started because a woman dumped her soda pop on a player who was in the penalty box. I'd love to see environmentalists interfere with a hockey game. The pedal hits something before going all the way to the floor. My plan is to remove the old under-floor master cylinder, and go to a suspended pedal with a vacuum booster and master cylinder on the firewall. I have all the stuff.

The Free Methodist Church is still around. There is one down the street from my parents' house in W.PA. My Mom grew up in one but that was the 40s-50s. She goes to a Bible Study at that local FMC. I went with her this summer when I visited. I like the pastor and the Bible Study actually involved the Bible, which is a good sign.

This place has a good reputation--we'll see, but that is a great start, almost like an apology for the setback suffered.

You know, I bet there are. But my plan is to thoroughly service the factory brakes, which are 11" drums. New shoes, as required, new or rebuilt wheel cylinders, new rubber lines, new hard lines, and a dual master cylinder with vacuum booster. No reason that should not lock up all four wheels in I stab the brake pedal.

I will replace all the lines. Buy new hoses, and make the hard lines myself. I have a coil of Cunifer tubing, a flaring tool, and flare nuts on hand. Making hard lines is a piece of cake.

Yes. The torque converter housing of the C4 automatic is a lot bulkier than the clutch housing of the old 8BA flattie. But the tweaks to the floorboards really don't intrude into the area needed for the driver and passenger's feet. And the floorboards are rusted as it is, so it really means just a minor increase of the amount of floor repair needed to make it safe.

Cunifer tubing is a game changer. Copper-nickel-iron alloy. It is a dull bronze color, very easy to bend by hand, not subject to rust, and makes flaring very easy because it is so ductile. More expensive than steel tubing, and worth every penny.

Assuming it is a front-wheel drive car, which means nearly all of them now, sounds like a CV joint. The CV joint is a ball-and-race style of universal joint that transmits torque from the front drive axle to the wheel hub.
The preferred repair these days is to replace the entire half-axle, which has both the inner CV (which rarely fails) and the outer CV, which frequently fails. The good news is that such parts are not unduly expensive, since there is a thriving aftermarket.

If you have the parts in hand, it should not be too hard to find a person to do the work. Realistically, you need an air impact to rattle off the big nut that holds the splined end of the CV axles in the hub, and a tool to separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle so you can swing the strut and hub away and withdraw the splined end from the hub. If you have those tools, it's a do-it-yourself job. Lacking those tools, it is a real PITA.

Man jailed for raping masked intruder in home
Canberra Times - August 28, 2023
A Melbourne man who overpowered and raped an intruder will spend at least four years in prison.
Klay Holland, 32, faced the Supreme Court of Victoria on Tuesday when he was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment, with a non-parole period of four years and 10 months.
Holland's victim, Shane Cox, had broken into a unit in Melton in Melbourne's west in March 2021 armed with a knife and wearing a mask.
He had asked for money and drugs, and was allegedly linked to others who had gone to the home to stand over a resident.
Mr Cox, 36, who was high on methylamphetamine, was overpowered by Holland who was a guest at the home.
Mr Cox was beaten with a baseball bat and was incapacitated on the floor, where Holland then raped him.
His body was found at the scene under a pile of blankets a day later by police, who arrived at the property on an unrelated matter.
He was hogtied, his mouth was duct taped and his pants were pulled down to his upper thighs.

I'm not learning anything much at this point. And I wind up not getting enough sleep the night afterward. Thank God I plan to go to only one more meeting, while they finish up my last chapter. I've been going, and finding it pretty useful, for seventeen years. Time for a break or a change of pace, or, or something.

Freedom has many very hard issues. There's a difference between "sodomy is okay by me" and "keep it to yourself, it has no place in the larger community". You're delusional. Homosexuality was a criminal offense in many US jurisdictions into the late 90s, until a 5-4 supreme court majority said otherwise. The state you live in still has that offense on the books, refusing to repeal it even after the supreme court made it unenforceable. No one but the most radical progressives were lassez faire about homosexuality until the last quarter century or so. If you can't be arsed to defend traditional sexual mores, what exactly are you for conserving, the proper capital gains tax structure?
Modern conservatives think they can sip just a little penis. They seem not to have noticed that the same perverts who pushed for normalization of homosexuality are the very seem people who are always going on about trannies now, with a special focus on children in particular. Homosexuals are like any other socially deviant/minority behavior that cannot be eliminated except by draconian measures and even then it's proven impossible to eliminate. Did all the laws against 'sodomy' keep it from happening? No, they did not. Ever.
