With 1,100+ People Still Missing in Hawaii, the Federal Emergency Mangement Agency Focuses on the One Emergecy That Really Matters: "Trainings" About the Threat of "White Supremacy"
This should be a national scandal, but it won't be.
From Ben Wilson at the Free Beacon, it's all hands on deck at FEMA:The federal government agency tasked with leading the response to natural disasters has its hands full as more than 1,000 Americans remain missing following wildfires that devastated the Hawaiian island of Maui. FEMA nonetheless is mandating a three-hour diversity training for employees that argues, among other things, that white supremacy is "ingrained in nearly every system and institution in the U.S." While it's unclear how many of FEMA's 20,000-plus employees were required to complete the training, internal emails reviewed by the Free Beacon indicate that the agency's "resilience" division was advised of a requirement to complete one of three three-hour diversity training modules between Aug. 1 and Sept. 28. "FEMA Resilience" works to "help communities across the United States equitably adapt, survive, recover and thrive in the face of natural disasters" and boasts roughly 2,600 employees, according to someone familiar. The division is led by Biden administration appointee Victoria Salinas, the agency's website says. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainings contend that the United States is "rooted in extreme, extraordinary violence" and demand participants acknowledge "that systemic racism and oppression exist," according to screenshots of the training obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. ... "White supremacy is an ideology, a pattern of values and beliefs that are ingrained in nearly every system and institution in the U.S.," the presentation says in a section titled, "Why Start With White Supremacy and Race?" In another section, titled, "The Uncomfortable Truth," the presentation says the United States "was established and rooted in extreme, extraordinary violence." "The established economic, justice, and social systems all require subjugation of certain groups," the presentation continues. A spokesman for the agency said that the training in question is not required. (FEMA Resilience employees may choose among three options.) The spokesman, however, said that the agency requires two trainings of all employees: "Civil Rights and FEMA Disaster 2023" and "Including People with Disabilities and Others with Access and Functional Needs in Disaster Operations." FEMA is facing criticism that as many as 1,100 people remain missing in Hawaii after the deadliest wildfire in modern U.S. history ravaged the island earlier this month. Agency administrator Deanne Criswell struggled on Monday to explain why so many people remain unaccounted for two weeks after the fire was mostly contained. "There's a lot of different reasons on why people are unaccounted for," Criswell told CNN. "It could be that they are staying with family and friends." FEMA is also facing blowback for putting up hundreds of its employees in five-star resorts in Hawaii such as the Four Seasons, where rooms cost $1,000 per night and are located nearly a 45-minute drive from the disaster sites. A local government employee named Kaleo told the Daily Mail the luxurious accommodations are "selfish."Seems like they want to stay in the Most White Supremacist hotels in the Most White Supremacist neighborhoods.
"Shouldn't they stay closer to the site, instead of staying across on the other side of the island?" he said.

Sadly, with the totality of the destruction, there will be thousands of documents lost, such as birth certificates, insurance policies, wills, trusts, and all manner of proofs of the very existence of many of the missing.
And if the homeowner perished with their house, both being reduced to but dust and ash, then who'll make the insurance claim on the property? The life insurance?
Hundreds of properties and lives lost, no one even knowing which insurances they had, much less a copy of a policy at some other location. Likely, the locak Lahina agents' were burned out, as well?
But yeah. FEMA can focus on DIE, not worrying at all about the actual DEAD.

I think it is safe to assume that copies of all insurance, deeds, etc. are secure. These things are kept with electronic copies, in multiple locations.
I also doubt that whole communities could have been wiped out with no recollection. All you need is 5, 10% survivorship to get a pretty close record of who lived on a street, and the names of every person in each household.
Kids are especially easy to track after a disaster since there are school and medical records. It should take a few days for the state to give a complete record with 90% accuracy of count.

But we will do it differently - American style. It will be done with soft power, which works very well on Americans. Whites pay higher taxes and get fewer benefits. Special excises on things like houses, to softly expropriate them by raising carrying costs. Lower discounts with the supermarket club program, in the name of "social justice" (if not just done in secret). Restricted travel - fewer airplane trips for whites, higher prices for cars, etc., - also done in the name of "climate change." More aggressive prosecution and "law enforcement" against the target group. Selective access to medical resources as a part of an overall cost-reduction push due to the coming budget disasters. Stuff like that.
Barbed wire and death squads? It's possible, but there are better things to get what you want in America.

And some of those hotels are really nice hotels. If you nose around a little, you can find some amazing places at the government per diem rate.
Another issue is that the "fancy" side of the island is where all of the hotels ARE. Whatever inventory there might otherwise be is probably already filled with those displaced by the fires.

My assumption has been to question whether they really don't know, because they know the actual number is going to be horrible, so nobody wants to be the bearer of the news.
Or... if there are lots of homeless people in the area, they truly don't have a clue who was or wasn't there.

If I recall correctly, on 9/11 the early estimates were possibly as many as 20,000 people in the buildings when they came down.
Then it quickly got revised downward, and continued to go down over the next few days/weeks. By the time they were pulling the last of the bodies out that they could find, they had a very good idea what the number was.

I disagree. The area is so localized, it would not take long at all. Just life insurance you could get a list in a few days. You know who sells it. You ask them to provide a list of all open policies for people in that location. You would have virtually everyone within a week. This is not somewhere in the continental US, with 100,000 people. Getting a count of dead and missing within about 50 people should be quick.

Maui is an island. The number one way you leave Maui is by plane/jet. Everyone leaving by plane/jet is ID'd before boarding. Boating over 80 miles to Oahu is possible but it is rarely done as a normal business. Doesn't leave many other places to look for missing people on a small island.

From what I recall, The poles cracked an early version when everyone thought it was uncrackable. They handed it to the brits who improved the machine design used to automate the decryption.
The brits also worked on each version as the Germans added wheels and a special trick of randomizing the starting point by adding a special wheel.
The US got the tech from the brits, and built high speed decoders to help in the effort, but the brains for most of the war was in Beckley park
