The judge did not set aside the previous jury verdict.

62 this is done when the judge feels that as a matter of LAW (there you go with the law is for judges) the evidence for one side is so clearly in favor of one party that it would be a miscarriage of justice to allow a contrary judgment to stand.

you don't hear about this much because judges don't do it, barely ever. However, at the end of every trial, you will hear lawyers asking for a directed verdict in their client's favor.

It would have looked much worse if the jury had found for my client and THEN he granted a JNOV.

Her Majesty and Delilah are on their way to Minnesota for shows this weekend. They've gotten up to the Winstar casino in Oklahoma. HM doesn't like traveling more than six or seven hours a day so the trip will take several days.
