The Morning Report — 8/16/23

xiswhiz.jpg

Good morning, kids. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted after my trip, but made it back home yesterday afternoon with relative ease. There's nothing more necessarily to add to yesterday's story of Trump's latest indictment for the high crime of thinking he could exercise his first amendment rights and really thinking he had them in the first place. But let us let the illusion that this is all just slightly more than normal "ain't beanbag" politics as usual continue. If it can. Certainly that's how the usual gang of idiots and frauds on our side are treating it.

What underscores our transmogrification of what was the greatest nation and society in history into nothing more than a gilded banana republic – and the dissolution and squalor left in the wake of armies of criminals, derelicts and drug addicts, political thuggery, and a national debt that is reaching dangerously high levels set to erase the "gilded" part – are the real crimes and borderline (if not actual) treason of Joe "Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants" Biden.

Biden and family made their bones over the course of more than half a century not just on mere graft and influence peddling, but on trading on the national security of the nation itself. Burisma and Ukraine is bad enough, but crap like this which is flying under the radar (mostly courtesy of a media that function as propagandists in service to the junta and more broadly the anti-American cause) is orders of magnitude worse.

There’s a certain truth to the joke. DuPont is the corporation that defines Biden’s career. His first Senate bid was staffed with DuPont employees, including future chief-of-staff and senator Ted Kaufman, who was conveniently allowed to take a “leave of absence” from DuPont to help elect Biden. Biden celebrated his victory at the Hotel DuPont and bought a former DuPont mansion.

DuPont figures in a lot of Biden’s stories. He even claims to have gotten on board with gay marriage when his father showed him a gay couple kissing at DuPont. And Biden figures in the latest DuPont story which involves handing over advanced military technology to China.

Last year, DuPont sold off its biomaterials unit to the Huafon Group of China. Huafon, a massive chemical and finance organization.

Biden’s own defense secretary warned that the sale would put technology that could be used for advanced explosives in China’s hands. Those concerns were not unreasonable. DuPont had been born as a gunpowder firm that came to dominate the American defense industry in the 19th century. DuPont was there handling plutonium on the ground floor of the Manhattan Project even though its former president, Irénée du Pont, had admired Hitler. DuPont has since tried to avoid associations with weapons, but its biomaterials had potential military applications. . .

. . . Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has generally been a loyal political soldier. He had previously toed the line on nearly every Biden initiative. But on DuPont, he broke ranks. National security officials tried to meet with Biden to warn him that the DuPont deal might be good for the Delaware company, but was bad for America. Biden however refused to meet with them.

And the deal went through. Despite the supposed safeguards which were supposed to prevent Covation Biomaterials, the name of the new Chinese-controlled company, from getting its hands on the production process, it happened anyway. And the FBI launched an investigation.

Nothing is expected to come of that.

This is far from the first time that advanced American technology has fallen into the hands of our enemies in China, but it’s particularly outrageous because top defense officials, including the secretary of defense, had warned of the consequences, and it happened anyway.

And because there is no company closer to Joe Biden than DuPont. . .

. . . DuPont has been kind to Biden, donating $250,000 to his inauguration committee alone, and the Biden family has been kind to DuPont. When Robert H. Richards IV, a DuPont heir, admitted to raping his 3-year-old daughter, Attorney General Beau Biden defended the judge who refused to lock him up because he has “strong family support” and “will not fare well in prison.”

. . . Joe and Hunter Biden are far more interested in what’s good for DuPont than what’s good for America. Biden’s decision is likely to increase China’s military edge and weaken our own.

China didn’t have to buy the [spurious] President of the United States, just the “Senator from DuPont.”

Delaware, graft and incest. Yup, Biden and DuPont are peas in a pod, eh?

And then there's a Chi-Com bioweapons lab operating right here in the US of A. The People's Republic of California to be precise.

Last December in Reedley, a city of 25,000 near Fresno, city inspectors noticed a garden hose attached to an abandoned warehouse. Inside they found a secret, illegal biolab harboring, as the Mid Valley Times reported, hundreds of allegedly genetically engineered mice, “potentially infectious” bacteria, and viral agents, including chlamydia, E. Coli, streptococcus pneumonia, hepatitis B and C, herpes 1 and 5, rubella, and malaria. . .

. . . As of Aug. 14, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control and the CDPH had issued no official statement on the illegal lab. Bonta, busy challenging parents who want to be notified over gender propaganda in schools, had nothing to say about the ramshackle facility.

Newsom, who had been threatening a school district for rejecting a textbook celebrating sexual predator Harvey Milk, was stone silent on the Reedley lab. As of Aug. 14, Newsom’s news website was still ignoring the illegal Chinese operation. That should come as no surprise.

In April of 2020, Newsom went on national television to announce a $1 billion deal for face masks with the Chinese company Build Your Dreams, which is not known for protective equipment. The governor refused to share details with fellow Democrats, and what happened to the $1 billion remains something of a mystery.

Long before Newsom’s mask deal, California hired a Chinese company, the state-owned Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries, to build the new span of the Bay Bridge. At the time, the Chinese company had no experience building bridges, and it showed. The project came in 10 years late, $5 billion over budget, and riddled with corrosion, bad welds, and other safety issues. When informed of the safety issues, Gov. Jerry Brown famously said, “I mean, look, shit happens.”

Brown protégé Gavin Newsom — Brown appointed Newsom’s father as a Superior Court and Appeal Court judge — is taking a pass on doings in Reedley, and so have major California newspapers. By contrast, reports on the lab by the California Globe have gone viral and attracted national attention.

And for those keeping score at home, should Joey's brain melt before 2024, or if his and his family's collective crimes cannot be swept under the rug, Newsom is supposedly being groomed (pun intended) to take Biden's place at the top of the pre-punched ticket.

Meanwhile, RFK Jr. sat down with Tucker Carlson for an extended conversation and dropped what only a few years ago would have been considered tinfoil hat nuttery, but today sounds not only plausible but highly likely:

“Anthony Fauci got all the responsibility for bio-weapons development,” adding that after three bugs escaped from three labs in the U.S. “In 2014, 300 scientists wrote to President Obama and said ‘you’ve gotta shut down Anthony Fauci, because he is going to create a microbe that will cause a global pandemic.'”

“And so Obama signed a moratorium and shut down the 18 worst of Anthony Fauci’s experiments, where most of them were taking place in North Carolina by a scientist called Ralph Baric,” Kennedy added.

He then explained that Fauci outsourced many programs offshore to avoid scrutiny.

For sure, this and the previous item were going on before Biden was installed as the ventriloquist's dummy "president." But that it has metastasized during his illegitimate occupation of the White House as well as the fact that the bureaucracy that helped install him and that will prevent any non Deep State player from dismantling the Leviathan let alone winning an election to make the attempt, is telling.

But Trump said "pussy." Worse, he had the gall to even think he had the right to say it.

But there isn’t, so the crap goes on and gets worse. Perfect example: Here in Dallas the popular morning AM radio hosts (who are generally conservative BTW… it is Texas after all)… they had some lady on today to talk Trump indictments… and her VERY first comment was she was surprised how meaty and serious they were; what a thorough investigation!!! (Sarcasm off)… this is peak gaslighting. We all know they’re garbage and she has the gall to start like that.. I turned it off (of course I’d just arrived at work)…

38 Even the $572 billion the federal government has paid in interest costs this fiscal year will likely prove lower than the sums Washington will pay going forward. At the beginning of the current fiscal year last Oct. 1, the Federal Reserve had set interest rates in a range of between 3-3.25 percent. Now, they are between 5.25-5.5 percent.

That makes it bigger than the Pentagon budget.

Either way, it will probably mean the removal of Kamala Harris. If it's Newsom, she can't be the VP because they're from the same state. If it's Whitmer, they'll probably take the opportunity to scuttle her and put a black man in at VP to balance the ticket.

Coli, streptococcus pneumonia, hepatitis B and C, herpes 1 and 5, rubella, and malaria. . .

Unless the program is shored up before 2033, the typical newly retired, dual-earner couple will see their Social Security checks reduced by $17,400 annually, or $1,450 per month, according to the report from the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

Because the left likes to lie and always claim the (R)'s wanna cut SS, I looked at this a little closer. They're using the most extreme example possible. A two earner family. They neglected to mention whether the female took a decade or two out of the workplace to raise children which has traditionally been the norm. Assumption is also assumed that they earned near the maximum taxable amount during their careers. They also threw the word 'nonpartisan' in there for additional bullshit.

Many grains of salt are required.

68 Equally curious is that major American utility companies are selling their renewable assets. What do they know that they aren’t telling us? Likely that they know the grid won’t work with this flood of intermittent and unreliable power sources, and Democrats are unable to convince their powerful environmental faction that removing regulatory barriers to grid improvements are necessary, because the Greens lose sleep over the fact that it would allow more oil and gas pipelines to be built. They would rather we have blackouts than allow any expansion of natural gas, let alone oil.

Because according to the Constitution, if it happens, then the state's electoral votes cannot be cast:
The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.

If both of the persons are from the same state, electors from that state logically cannot vote for either of them and so they *must* vote for a different slate of candidates or they must abstain. Either way, it means losing the electoral votes of the state if the candidate pair wins that state. In this case, it would mean that the Democrats would lose California's staggering 55 electoral votes.

One of my local supermarkets has an own-brand variety of canned tuna. It isn't very good. Low-quality fish, lots of water or oil. But it is food, and human food at that, and the price per pound (or oz, whatever) is lower than most of the canned cat food products they have.

I actually don't know how the canned cat food sells. The cat loves the cheap tuna, and I can eat it, too, in a pinch.

139 In this case, it would mean that the Democrats would lose California's staggering 55 electoral votes.
____

Well, this analysis is sorely lacking the application of Meta-law. Standard law is not equitable. Meta-law transcends this problem, and by allowing the Dem ticket to keep the 55 electoral votes, equity is restored. Note, this doesn't apply to a situation with a Trump/DeSantis ticket in Fla, for again, reasons of equity.

I know a guy who sells herbal supplements manufactured in China because it's the only place they *can* be manufactured. The producer of them - an American firm - had no end of trouble until he figured out the game. He quality checks *every* batch. He noticed that after the initial six months (where high-quality goods were delivered), they started subbing ingredients and not delivering to the contract. He found another manufacturer. Same progression.

So he hired someone from the States to go live in China and ride herd on the third manufacturer and watch the production like a hawk and enforce quality. With a foreign overseer - in the contract, of course - there at all times during sourcing and manufacturing, he is able to maintain quality. It costs at least as much as producing it in the States would, but China is where all the stuff is grown and cultivated and he has little choice.

Getting quality from China is possible. Getting it affordably from China is not.

193 Technically the supposed problem with Trump saying p*ssy is that he was talking about gold diggers.

And if you go to sites like Althouse you'll see this annoys left leaning women for some reason. They'll deny gold diggers exist for a while then eventually offer up that maybe some such women exist but we shouldn't talk about them because it will give people bad ideas.

Then he looks at the audience and says, "We have to say that now right? Especially if you have a Huawei phone". It was funny and terrifying...

Yup. There are some variations on the theme, but that's it. But after the customer complains, they never get back to sample quality - they just come off the bottom and restart the process.

Like with the new Bay Bridge, which used Chinese-manufactured structural steel shapes that often came in at below quality and with the holes in the wrong places.

229 America isn't having a crisis of confidence in the institutions.

America is going through something worse. Its most ardent believers in value and virtue of institutions are being forced to face what only decades ago were being battled over in the hearts of its citizens.

The left, for some time, has been shouting that the institutions are unjust, be it war mongering interventionist policy, institutional racism/sexism, corporate elitism, anti-vaxxing or otherwise. The right, in many cases, understood the danger of this and supported the institutions in an effort to maintain the cohesion of the country.

But now the right has an awkward moment, we must accept begrudgingly that we were in err, that America's institutions are in fact corrupt, and that there is a high degree of doubt in the morality of anything the government asks Americans to back in the spirit of patriotism.

This crisis will not so easily be overcome. Americans are asked to pledge their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to a system that seems morally bankrupt and depraved. Decades of placing the least righteous among us in the seats of power has eroded the very fabric of our country.

All these trips to the hospital lately have proven they can't really do it themselves anymore.

It was the same with my then 93-year-old dad in late 2019 and early 2020.

We got him into full care showing him I couldn't take care of him as I had him and mom in 2019 and earlier so it was a strain on me; got our GP to agree with that; and luckily we were able to get him into the best VA care centre in the country [that our GP confirmed to him].

After several weeks living there, he was massively pleased with his treatment and me seeing him for every Raptors' game [west coast matches excepted] until the mid-March lockdowns ended my weekly visits.

Maybe you could do the same with your dad, Sponge, and point out that assisted living still has plenty of freedom?

261 DuPont is also a big reason that original Freon (R-12) got banned. The patent had expired, so DuPont went along with the environmentalists' demands that it be banned.

Just like how Honeywell was fine with the US government legislating the now-dominant R-410A out of existence in 2020. It's a phase-in, of course, but it will be banned in a few years. For no reason in the slightest.

The big chemical companies will get another bite at the cherry anyway, and it shows fealty to Big Enviornment.

Footage of the incident, posted on Reddit, shows the woman holding the handgun and threateningly pointing it at other cars as she walks across the road.

At one point she even holds the gun to her own head, the video shows.

Suddenly, tires can be heard screeching and a Nassau Police cruiser flies into the frame.

The woman tries to get out of the way, but the officer clips her, knocking her to the ground.

The original German? movie was creepier and better because it followed the logic of the story to its end and didn't go for the happy Hollywood ending.

Just a devastating movie if you went in without knowing any more than the original premise and had no idea of the end.

One of the few movies that I haven't forgotten at all.
Even decades later.

Slow burn but ultimately terrifying and creepy.

By no greater an authority than Wikipedia San Francisco, in practically every individual metric (murder, rape, robbery, theft, etc) is in the 30th-40th range of FUSA cities.

Furthermore, the comparison is stupid because it is like the Poverty Rate being stuck at 12% for years because the definition of Poverty is set at a percentage of average household income.

Comparing a increasingly crime-ridden city with another increasingly crime-ridden city only is measuring the delta in decline

I'm at a loss and feel everything is over. Truly over. I honestly have come to believe that we will never have a fair election in the United States again. And it makes perfect sense as the elites who run the show can't ever afford to lose power and be held accountable. And only one guy is out there taking all the arrows while the rest of the field "talks" about what they'll do when they are president. Fucking cowards and sellouts, the whole lot of them! The new American police state is in full service, big brother is watching us and all our politicians are dutifully following within the lines laid out by the state, to ensure their seat at the federal trough.

376 On Jul 31, Canadian investor and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary, also known as “Mr. Wonderful,” announced plans to teach about the “unprecedented” boycott of Bud Light to college students nationwide this fall.

“This is an extraordinary case that I’ll be teaching in business schools across America this fall,” O’Leary said in an interview with Fox News.

“To lose 25% market share has never been achieved, and it’s impossible to even dream it,” O’Leary Fox News, mentioning that some of the largest previous moves in the beer market range between 1-5%.

He emphasized that beer is essentially the same product, and what sets it apart is the power of its brand. In April 2023, Bud Light partnered with controversial transgender influencer, Dylan Mulvaney.

“You have to ask yourself: ‘on a campaign that really brings you into a discussion around gender identity, is that the right thing for my beer brand?’” O’Leary said,.referring to Mulvaney’s “365 Days of Girlhood” Tiktok video series, which initially propelled him into the spotlight.

They could have endured the Mulvaney nonsense, but the video 'diss'-ing the current customers was just too much.

It seems petty obvious that InBev and A-B just don't see this as two issues to make a "perfect storm" of sorts. Their best course of action was to fire Heinershied for the video and STFU about Mulvaney.

Instead, A-B let Heinershied make Bud Light the "beer of nut cases".
