Hunter Biden told his 'best friend' Devon Archer to get a burner phone, three days before Archer met with then-VP Joe Biden at the White House, shocking emails show. 'Buy a cell phone from a 7/11 or CVS tmrw and ill do the same,' Hunter wrote in the explosive April 13, 2014 message. Days later Archer would meet with Joe in the West Wing, White House records show, and he and Hunter would announce their board seats at allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma later that month. Hunter's curious request of Archer to buy a burner phone came at the end of a shocking email discussing their business strategy, that also hinted at Hunter's touting of his influence over his VP father -- who he described as 'my guy' -- in his business dealings. Records from his laptop show Hunter kept 13 phone numbers active on his AT&T account -- and some may have even belonged to Joe Biden.
So Joe Biden, when Vice President, was using a secret burner phone that could not be subpoenaed, because it was secret. Like Hillary Clinton's secret bathroom server, set up to avoid congressional subpeonas and FOIA demands.
The President paid for the phone lines for a period, according to Hunter's assistant Katie Dodge. ... The committee also had the power to grill Archer on the disposable phone numbers, and may subpoena records of communications on them. Dodge listed the 13 numbers in a spreadsheet of his monthly bills sent with her January 17 2019 email, highlighting the $1,200-per-month total bill for the lines. ... In a September 20, 2016 email, Hunter's colleague at his Rosemont Seneca consultancy, Joan Mayer, asked about his phone bills, and described one number ending 3313 paid for by Hunter as belonging to 'dad'. Hunter's business partner Eric Schwerin also wrote that Hunter spent $190.02 per month for an AT&T line for 'JRB', Joe Biden's initials, in a December 7, 2016 email listing Hunter's bills.
... AT&T texts to Hunter's cell phone sent in 2018 and 2019 list the calls, texts and data use on each of his phone lines. Though there are no text messages stored on the laptop for some of the lines, the AT&T notifications show that hundreds of megabytes of data was being used on those phones. One explanation could be that Hunter was using these extra numbers for encrypted text conversations on burner phones -- as he suggested to Archer in his 2014 email. The First Son downloaded sixteen private messaging apps prior to 2019, many of which used encryption, according to an analysis of Hunter's laptop by right wing nonprofit Marco Polo. The apps included Signal, Chinese messaging app WeChat, and Wickr, an encrypted app once favored in the criminal underworld.Drug dealers use the same apps Hunter and Joe did, because drug dealers, famously, love talking about the weather, and/or "niceties." Sometimes conversations about the weather need to be conducted in unbreakable code. You don't want citizens FOIA'ing your very sensitive discussions about the weather and weather-adjacent phenomena, like tsunamis. Impeach the bitch.

Law Enforcement LOVES it when people think that Burner Phones create anonymity.
When a person sparks up that Burner, it should only be for outgoing comms or within a very tight operational window - and that only to another burner phone where the user has strict OPSEC.
That phone gives off a location, so both parties better be far from any known haunts, no where near any phones used by associates or near any other known contacts. Not on the move, and certainly using code phrases while sucking on hard candy.
Otherwise voice, location, proximity and other metrics will very quickly identify the owner of that burn phone. Better to use it once and then destroy it, anything more and patterns emerge.

This is what is killing me here. It's now 1 Aug 2023, and revelations are coming out about these email correspondences...over three years after the Hunter Biden laptop was discovered. We know the FIB had it, we also know that Senate Intel had it as well. The Senate Intel, by the way, that was Republican-controlled in 2020.
All this time, and we have to wait until today to know this - from a UK newspaper, no less. Giuliani had a copy of the laptop, and this didn't come out either.

I think much of the appeal with a burner is it just makes law enforcements job way more difficult.
Some local sheriff's office is probably going to find lower hanging fruit than trying to trace a series of burner phones for a drug dealer.
But I'm sure a federal agency throwing everything thing at who was operating a burner can figure it our pretty quickly.

The idea that a court can take the liberty of "Well, we ALL know what he meant", when "find" generally means "find" things that are there to find, and the court cannot take words in their worst meaning because somebody claims to be able to read minds or is an expert on what "Trump's thinking" or just wants to.
So, they think "find" is evidence. But documents that catch Biden in lies, aren't.
They don't have a standard of evidence. Because it tends to be everything they think is a reference to some other conclusion they've made along the line.

138 Interesting article online. If you ever read Jim Cirrillo's Stakeout Squad stories, you find that the people lasting in the Stakeout Squad have very similar attributes to yours and Horner's list. The Stakeout Squad was used by NYPD during the 70's to combat the extraordinary increase in armed robberies there and they literally sat in the hides waiting for the criminals to appear.
Program was ended despite success in vastly reducing armed robberies in the city because a demographic of the people being shot was not politically sustainable by NYC.

ALPRs can very quickly determine not only license plate, but also make, model, color and year of vehicle. I know this because I have set up such installations and have another client that would like one.

But there is a difference between encryption (privacy) and secrecy. If you're a government official, you should be engaging in *nothing* in secrecy. Privacy is fine, secrecy is not. But if you're a government official - as opposed to a private citizen - your privacy (encryption) must be reversible because you are accountable to the people. Anyone in government caught violating either - acting in secrecy *or* using non-reversible encryption - should be sent to prison for life without parole after the first violation.

It's been obvious since the 1860s that impeachment was one of the major flaws of the constitution. It's too weak, the barriers too high, and the process takes too long.
If Congress couldn't convict Andrew Johnson at the nadir of his president, they'll never successfully convict any president. I think history would be very different if Congress had done it. Imagine FDR with a Congress that has a history of actually removing presidents.

Yeah, that's probably the worst part of it. I got online around 94, went through the wild west, the kazaas and napsters and every website being bad and different, and then around 2002 or so I was able to find ANYTHING using Google. And then around 2005 Facebook started walling off the gardens, and then walled gardens appeared everywhere. Comment sections, substacks, etc. are almost entirely invisible, and tons of information was deleted (comment sections closed) or otherwise disappeared, or was blocked off from access.
It's like slowly losing your vision, and it sucks. Especially because you know it's because your eyes are being gouged out.

I have a lot of things I do that rely on unusual products made by small businesses. Additive manufacturing, CNC stuff, machine tools, custom automotive parts, plus lots of niche outdoors products. The high quality, made-in-USA type.
This stuff is straight up vanishing. And it's not because of supply issues, although that doesn't help. It's because all of the people that run these businesses and make these products are fucking dying left and right. I just, finally, found yet another product that is *exactly* what I needed, and have been searching for for months, only to find that the owner died suddenly a few months ago with little warning, and there was nobody able to pick up the pieces.
This does not bode well for many things. It is bonkers to stand in my shop and rotate in a circle and call out various items whose makers have died in the last couple of years.

I don't think next time will be "the courts will figure it out!" because everyone watched the courts cower in fear of having their homes burned down or their invitations to DC parties dry up.

The problem with the US is that the empire has subsumed the nation;the other empires you mentioned had a country after the empire ended . The US is an empire and the nation won't survive the empire's dissolution.

Well, I'm not sure I would agree with that sentiment. Was he wildly unpopular? Yes. I think popular arm chair QBs would agree with your assessment. But when you dig into some more detail it was a pure power play by the legislature. Which was why he wasn't convicted.
