Tucker Carlson Ends Corporate Liberal Asa Hutchinson at Candidate Forum In Iowa

Before getting to that:

A Wall Street analyst downgrades Fox News' stock due to its loss of viewers.

A top financial services company downgraded Fox Corporation's stock on Monday, noting issues with the network's viewership, earnings, and content.
An analyst with Wells Fargo downgraded shares of Fox Corp. from "equal weight" to "underweight," lowering the price target from $35 per share to $31 per share, according to multiple reports on Monday.
"Fox News is the FOXA cash cow at [around] 80 percent of our FY24E EBITDA," Steven Cahall, with Wells Fargo, wrote, referring to the acronym for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. "Viewership is down -19% Jan-June'23 vs Jan-June'21 due to cord cutting and/or programming."
Mr. Cahall added that "more worryingly, Fox News was 52 percent of cable news primetime viewership for 2020-22, 51 percent in Jan'23, and that has slid to a low of 38 percent in June'23 post-TC," reported Investing.com. "[Fox News'] share of conservative news viewers has fallen from 94 percent to 84 percent."

And the Wall Street Journal reports that Tucker Carlson is seeking financing to start a "new media company," with "Twitter as the backbone." Not sure I understand that.

Tanks remain useful because of their armor in being more survivable for bunker busting or ravaging rear area soft targets. Having close infantry support reduces man portable dangers by shooting them up out of range before they can aim and shoot. If you outrun the infantry support, well, then the old molotov can do in a tank.

The trend for APCs/Strykers and the like to carry mech infantry forward seems more questionable to me, since the light armor and small gun/AT missile are too small and everyone seems to put them on the front line like a tank and they don't survive. It reminds me of the battlecruiser fad where they got stuck in the line like a battleship and a lot of them got blown up and sunk in WWI.

Worked pretty well in both World Wars. In WWI, the US used French guns and concentrated on mass producing Ammo for everyone. In WWII the Sherman became the main tank for all the allies because we could make them, maintain them in the field, and ship them everywhere. We made the artillery guns ourselves or most of them.

That's because they used them all up taking out the first, second and third wave of Russian tanks that were attacking Ukraine.

We were sending those things by the airplane load and they were taking them off the planes and sending them straight to the front. Those AT missiles are literally what stopped the Russian invasion cold and turned the war into trench warfare for the most part. It's disingenuous to say man packed AT weapons are not being used in great numbers in Ukraine.

What seems to be the newest factor is that accurate arty and universal visibility for scouting from space or drones means mass attacks get blasted apart. The Ukraine South Offensive failing now at first used "NATO" tactics but the roadbound tanks and APCs got bunched up by taking out the mine clearers and then could not spread out. Followup salvos caused heavy damage long before the main line of defense.

These can be countered by air defense, but Ukraine has run out of what it had at the start and NATO really doesn't have any serious air defense to replace it which makes them vulnerable to Russian glide bombs and aircraft even in defense. Rooting the infantry out of a fortified village takes time but without their own counterbattery its a losing effort.

1. We told them we don't have anymore to send them and stop asking for them. That also holds true for 155mm Artillery rounds as well.

2. They upped the ante and starting asking for MBT's and F-16 fighters.

Problem is, our air is vulnerable to their Air Defense systems. It can even intercept artillery rounds at times. Its pretty good.

And we can't protect the airports, so they get one mission or so before the airbase is taken out.

I just note that the Patriot was not deployed to protect the brigades attacking the Russian defenses in the South while they were hit with Russian air assets. And that attack failed. This offensive was supposed to turn around the war, why wasn't it there?

A problem today is that the drones can see you scooting.

From the Russian loss/losses called reports there is usually a drizzle of guns lost each day, but not massively so. So the Ukrainians are better at surviving at least for a while than this but Russia has a huge gun superiority in the field and ammo as well.

This is always a problem, but even lies can tell you things. For instance, if Russia lies too much about kills Ukraine can just film something and show them up. With the blackout of Russian news to the world, there's little point in inflating things too much.

So you just look at the daily reports and what happens on the maps. If the U's say they killed 2000 men a day in human wave tactics, well, no brigade is going to be able to attack the next day and the next and the next and then take the town. You just can't attack with 60 percent losses, much less 260 percent. But if you just scout where the enemy is and call in lots of air support and artillery, well you can do a lot of offense with few losses. Its how we won WWII after all.

We did get 3 justices that would undo the stain of 1973, which isn’t nothing and puts Trump head and shoulders above Asa, Pence, and Scott, all of whom would have done the same above and sold out on justices. But come on. DeSantis isn’t more valuable in Florida, unless you think he would have done the same (Trump certainly hasn’t admitted any mistakes).
